I saw "The Kingsport Team" last month. After saw DDS, she advised plan for OVER $6k work!…read more Week later, my orthopedic surgeon said needed a thoracic vertebrae replacement. Unbeknownst to me...I was required to have my personal physician AND my dentist sign off on neck procedure. My dr (having been seeing him regularly for over 4 years) signed off with no trepidation. Aspen DUNTal - MY ONE & ONLY VISIT there - said FOR THEM to sign off - would require the $3k cleaning PRIOR to surgery. Would not sign off until that procedure was completed. So very typical of a bunch of ne'er do wells!! I do NOT disparage AT ALL the competence of the dentists. What was so shocking was the business practice put in place ("for my safety."). Went to another practice on (3/14). Two in office signed off on it - a dental surgeon and hygienist. Teeth cleaned...& very well too - to boot. I had gone to office with singular purpose: to seek permission for surgery. Although I had to travel out-of-state for the office visit - it was well worth it. They not only granted my request...they faxed the paperwork to my surgeon's office - twice - line busy. They didn't even charge for the faxes! MY ADVICE: STAY FAR AWAY FROM ASPEN DUntal - UNLESS MONEY IS NO ISSUE - ever!!! Suggestion to any: perhaps investing your time & money in a "hometown dental practice." It sure may be more rewarding than aligning with the "super, chain-store mentality." I will not waste anymore time on this site...but am really curious about how the "corporate spin" on this will be. Someone...at EVERY Aspen DUntal site has "the job" of addressing (or...hopefully reading) patient issues and concerns. Am sure position is very lucrative and time-consuming!

My total estimated treatment plan was $33,898.00 with a $4,148.00 Insurance discount plus $2,500.00…read moreInsurance coverage: my responsibility was to be $27,250.00. The end total I paid was $31,158.20. The so-called discounts never materialized. The biggest issue was the snap-on dentures were ill fitted and painful to wear. The dental assistant had no idea on how to resolve the issue. Bottom line was I went to a different dentist, and he resolved the issue with in 2 visits at an additional cost. Be aware you will most likely be over billed for a poor-quality product.

I couldn't get into my normal dentist before my upcoming vacation. The day of my appointment my anxiety was high because this was the first time I was going to be awake. From the time I walked in, I was greeted by smiles. Everyone made me feel so welcome and tried their best to quelch my anxiety. I had the nitrous oxide (new to me bc I'm usually put to sleep). This helped me, but what also helped was the kind staff. The dental hygienist Lisa was so nice. I felt safe and in good hands. Dr David Mathers was very kind and considerate of my fears. I made the decision to switch my dental care to Kingsport Dentistry. The entire staff helped me to jump the hurdle of being scared of the dentist and get on the right track to cross the finish line to better dental health.

The lady who explained the coding just acted helpless as if she couldn't possibly be expected to give a customer heads up that when their child turned 14, the insurance would no longer consider him a child. I personally think that is not something she just discovered, and did not know when your office sent texts to me to update info and confirm the appt. How about, "oh, it's another 14 y.o. we better send a statement that dental insurance isn't covered because he's an adult? Because $220 for a cleaning? How about "do you want to skip xrays?" How about do the uncomfortable task of holding your staff to a higher standard of care and consideration for the patient- including yourself instead of ignoring that I already spoke to your office management. They know who I am. And if they didn't convey that to you, consider that. If they did tell you and you know who I am because they told you, don't bother writing responses that aren't sincere.

Considering Dr. Kathy Sanders? You Will Want to Read This!…read more I first scheduled an appointment with Dr. Sanders because of her advanced dental training and extensive cosmetic dentistry experience. My goal was to become an established patient in case I need bonding repair in the future. My first visit was the most thorough dental exam I have ever had in my life. Dr. Sanders evaluated not only my teeth and gums but also discovered a dental issue that had been affecting my overall health -- a long-standing infection in a lower right molar that seems to have contributed to years of migraines that were always on the right side of my head. After she prescribed the appropriate antibiotic and referred me for a root canal, my migraines stopped. That discovery alone has been life changing for me. That first appointment also showed me what had been missing from my routine dental care for years. Dr. Sanders created a treatment plan that prioritized the health of my teeth and gums first, then offered cosmetic options to consider that would improve my smile. Since becoming a patient in 2024, my smile has become healthier and more beautiful than I ever expected. I am truly thrilled with the results! If you are considering Dr. Sanders for cosmetic dentistry, know that she also genuinely cares about her patient's teeth and gum health and how it affects overall wellness. She is super intelligent in her field, truly kind, attentive, and communicates so the patient fully grasps any issues to make the most informed decisions. Her entire staff is highly skilled, professional and collaborates with her synergistically to create a pleasant experience.
