I've been going to Dr. Garrison for years. Eliz is my hygienist. Could not ask for better…read moretreatment. My wife went to Dr. Garrison for dental surgery to remove a broken, infected tooth. Same excellent service. Could not imagine a more competent and friendly bunch.

I recently had to have gum graft surgery due to recession. Unfortunately for me, it was at my front…read morelower gum area so it was quite obvious with a big smile. I had put off my dentist's recommendations for the procedure out of fear. I received his recommendation for Dr. Garrison and now I wish I had not put it off. Dr. Garrison was great. He explained the surgery and what I should expect. I also had pretty serious recession (I think he said around 5) and it was beginning to expose the root of my tooth, so I was going to stretch the "limits" of how much tissue could really cover the recessed area. Dr. Garrison was up for the challenge. The morning of the procedure, he informed me he was going to try for the whole "enchilada". In other words, he was going to attempt what training said could not be done and cover the entire area. I was not "put under", but just had numbing in the gum and the roof of my mouth where the donor tissue was coming from. I could communicate and hear everything that was going on. I didn't experience any discomfort during the procedure. Dr. Garrison is very gentle and I didn't feel like my mouth was stretched or my lips pulled over my head. He talked to me throughout the procedure and I felt very confident that the job was being done well. I will admit, the healing process is not like a vacation, but I didn't have any bleeding at home and I didn't take any pain medication, prescribed or over the counter. The only real discomfort I had was the stitches rubbed a sore on the inside of my lip, down at the bottom and after the "putty" was removed from the roof (donor) spot, it was tender for a couple of days. Because of the sore on my lip, I called to have Dr. Garrison check it out. He took me right in and it was a little too soon to have the stitches removed so I just tried to keep my lip still as to not irritate it, rinsed with warm salt water and waited two more days. He then called me to come back in to remove the stitches and the roof "putty". After that, the donor area was the only discomfort for a couple of days. I was so pleased. The spot healed perfectly and the tissue blends with the rest of the gum nicely. I can smile and you can't even tell I ever had recession. I am so pleased with his gentle and humble spirit and with the abilities he was blessed with. His son and other staff assistants were very kind and talked me through the process, as well. He has one staff member that works at the front desk that appears a little "rough around the edges", but everyone else at the office was pleasant and friendly. She wasn't rude, she just sounds a little gruff. I would recommend Dr. Garrison for any periodontal needs.
