I'm sorry to see not so stellar reviews of this reputable company on here. My story is that when I first moved into our neighborhood, we decided to go with another company. Let's call them "Sassy." When "Sassy" came in, we had perfect brand new sod. From day one, our grass looked horrible under their care. We wanted to give them a chance because they are a nationally recognized company and they've been around since we were kids. Every time I tried to cancel, they'd send a manager to address the issues and never, ever, ever did we get the resiliency back in our lawn while it was managed by them. S&O was recommended to us and after the first month, our lawn was LITERALLY, you guys, LITERALLY the best lawn on the block. I mean, our grass got so thick after three month that it became almost too difficult to mow it with a regular lawn mower. So we hired a lawn service to come out and mow our lawn professionally. And then all of a sudden, the quality of our grass went downhill again. My reports from S&O said they had to treat for bugs and something called "collapse." Man, I was bummed. So I was talking to my brother-in-law, and you know what he told me? When you hire companies to mow your lawn, you are INVITING bugs into your lawn. Yeah. Those lawn care companies don't clean their equipment before they come mow your lawn. So if your neighbor got bugs...you got bugs. Plus, that lawn care company loved them some Roundup. When you use S&O, they are using gentle ways to remove weeds. Combine that with Roundup and you get some bad things happening to your lawn. As much as I hated to do it (because they were some nice guys) I had to let the lawn care company go. That was about 1-2 months ago. Guess what. I'm almost back to being the best lawn on the block. The house down the street that ALSO USES S&O has me beat because they didn't have a setback. Now, I just have to buy a heavy duty lawn mower to get through this thick dark green grass. I guess there could be worse things to be concerned about...but a crappy lawn ain't one as long as I use S&O. read more

They promise additional contact proceedings an interview, and then ghost. Not very professional. They can at least not tell potential employees after an hour long interview they'll call them within the day if they don't intend to. read more

I cannot rate them on the quality of their work, because of their lack of responsiveness. I called them to get a quote, at the beginning of the week. (If someone is trying to get a quote, there is a high chance they are requesting quotes from your competitors, as well.) I called back on Thursday and was told they still had not been out to my home. (I know, that's why I called.) I still was not given a time or date. I could not even get the courtesy of an update. Friday, late afternoon I simply cancelled having them even come out. If I'm willing to give you my business, and give you my money...and you can't be bothered to come out or even call me...... how responsive will you be once you HAVE my money, if I have a problem??? Unfortunately this is going to be a bad review I had S&O come out an take a look at my yard. Before they would even begin my service they wanted me to have my irrigation system checked out. Which I did, and even have a small area re-sodded with zoysia, which I did. After the service began I was getting way more weeds and stinging nettles than I ever had. I called in and things never got any better. Just recently 5/21 my entire side yard of zoysia is completely brown and dead. I've made at least 4 attempts to speak to a manager with no response. They sent an email stating I needed my irrigation system checked out. Sorry but that already was completed prior to my service even beginning. Terrible management here. They don't stand behind their product and have the stick my head in the sand mentality when it comes to handling issues. See the lovely photos below. read more

These guys and ladies are the best around they will help you understand what is needed on your grass, scrubs, pest control and etc. We have their pest control and lawn fertilization and scrub care. We've been a customer of theirs for about 4 months now and we are happy with their quality of service they offer to the home owner to help protect their lawn, scrubs, inside their house from bugs, rodents and etc. Also they place little placards along your grass like to let people know to stay off the grass. Reliable, methods and services very effective. Whatever issues I encounter wether it's dry a spot on the lawn, weeds, insects - spiders, ants, etc inside and outside the home they respond and take of the problems. Hey S&O Greenworks, You're response to my review is laughable. The process is to be honest regarding bad customer service and bad companies that try to get away with mistreating their customers were not providing the service paid for. You can't be serious? You're story is full of lies, never had any issues with anyone until I worked directly with STEVE THE OWNER. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FROM WHAT I HEAR, EVEN THE OTHER COMPANIES IN THE AREA THAT PERFORM THE SAME SERVICES DISLIKE HIM TOO. I mean, your guys constantly left my gates open and my two small dogs would be wandering in my neighborhood. I called and asked for a text before your guys arrived to avoid this from happening. That's how often my dogs got out. I could go on and on about my "experiences" with your guys. Like the time Justin didn't show up for our meeting to do a landscape walk. No call no show...real professional. I think everyone can get the picture of what's happening here and why you're lashing back with such fabrications. Steve, take ownership. You failed...in an epic way. It's distasteful to fabricate stories and lies because you can't handle the truth or you feel you're finally exposed for the horrible business owner you are. Benn using them for years. If I see a problem with the lawn and make a phone call, they are on it quickly and inform me of what they found and how they treated the issue and what I need to do as well. Love there need letters as well. read more

If I could give a negative score I would I canceled my service and over year latter billed me for a month of service. Called buiness twice to resolve and each time they told me they would fix the billing issue. Now over two years latter they turn over to collection with NO contact with me. They do a fabulous job on our lawn and shrubs! We have had many other lawn services! By far they are the best! In fact many of our neighbors are using them now because of how impressed they were with our lush lawn!!! They cost alittle more but are sooo worth the absence of aggravation and problem lawns! read more

They were expensive and not doing a great job. I canceled my service a year ago and all seemed fine. I got a past due statement (a year later) for $65.00 staying they were going to turn me over to collections. I've never once received even one statement or call over the past year that I owed money. I've called twice now to discuss and no one has called me back. I was told two days ago a manager would be calling me. Very poor business skills! read more

They started out great my lawn was in great shape then I had a bad spot in my yard the technician blamed it on the "shade from the political yard signs" that were moved every time I mowed, laughable. But the reason I let them go was the orange stains on my driveway, house, and mailbox so when I installed a new white PVC fence and started to worry I just said no thanks obviously the techs need more training on mixing product. read more

I've been a loyal customer of S&O for the past 11 years and have had nothing but great service and results from this company. I was mowing my lawn one day and a rep from one of their larger competitors (think corporate) walked up my driveway to ask if I was interested in switching companies (they saw the S&O sign on my grass). I literally laughed at him and pointed to my lawn. I said, "Seriously?" Three "Yard of the Month" awards later, I told him I wasn't interested in watching my lawn go south. Not to sound arrogant but I'm very meticulous about my yard. S&O has as much to do about its appearance as I do, only I sweat a lot more than they do on it. I'd be the first person to raise a stink if I felt they weren't on top of service. Everyone I've talked with over the past decade has been exceptional. P.S. the back yard (see pics) is used daily, four times a day, by our three dogs. That's a lot of abuse on the lawn. They still manage to maintain its look. read more

I'm really amazed at some of the bad reviews on here. I have been using S&O for about 5 to 6 years, and honestly I can't say enough good things about this company. I went through 5 other companies before I went with S&O. They have done an excellent job on my lawn, and I can always rely on them for anything when it comes to the lawn. Trent has been my tech for past three to four years. He is always very concerned about our yard and making it the best lawn in the community, and he takes his job very seriously and he loves what he does, which is a rare quality nowadays. Trent is the best! I have referred them to many of our neighbors and they are all using S&O now. I strongly recommend this company. read more

These guys and gals are the best! I used two other lawn care companies and neither could seem to figure out how to take care of my yard. Every nice looking yard in my neighborhood used S&O so we gave them a shot a few years ago and our yard has never looked better. Best decision we ever made to keep our yard healthy was to use S&O. They also were very responsive when my irrigation system broke and left me without water. Could ask for better results or nicer people to deal with. read more

Avoid at all cost! I've lived in my home for 10+ years and I've had S&O fertilizing my yard and it has been looking great up until about 2 yrs ago! I don't know what going on with this company but the customer service and quality of work has gone down hill significantly! I have caught the techs sleeping on the job, leaving the note on the door and not doing and haven't even touched my yard. One of the techs told me to go outside and dig up some dead grass myself and then when I refused he came out and threw dirt on my drive way....2 days after a fresh power wash! They were charging me $50 and my yard looked like crap. I gave them a few months to turn it around and my yard got worse and worse! Then the office staff is calling me, harassing me for payment all the while Justin says not to worry about it...it will be credited back to your acct. Months later, the call and bills still coming! I asked for Justin and Steve (the owner) to call me...I received no response. Then, Justin lies about calling me back like requested and tried to flip the script like he was trying to save my lawn. This company is terrible. They don't respect homeowners and their property. They will show up uninvited and solicit you and leave trash on your property. There are better companies out there. Look elsewhere. read more

S and O Greenworks has excellent customer service and have greened up my St Augustine grass in less than one month. I love that they mix their products right at my house. They explain everything so clearly and are so informative. He couldn't come today, because of storms coming in, and he assured me he would be back next week. Not only my grass is beautiful, but my shrubs and plants in my Lanscaping are starting to grow and look beautiful. So glad to have found this company! read more

This is too commend Justin one of your truly outstanding managers! Justin came to our aid with us having some very bad patches of brown lawn. We have been watering those patches daily with so results while 95% of our lawn looking just fine. Justin closely studied the bad turf and determined that the problem appeared to be due to the soil in those areas being highly compacted. He offered to correct the problem much to our relief. Stay away from this company! First application made the lawn look great and green. The next 7 applications did nothing!! The lawn got progressively worse each month. I spoke to my Rep every month and got nothing but excuses. He was not applying any fertilizer, iron or any of the necessary additives to make the lawn look good. Of course he blamed me, mother nature and the seasons ( I guess my neighbors had different seasons than me ). My lawn is full of brown spots ( he blamed chlorine from the pool and too much water from the rain). He also said that the spots were caused by gas leaking from my mower. I use a battery powered mower! No one at the company was concerned! My new service immediately said the lawn needed fertilizer, iron and water. I told them I water twice a week for 15 minutes per zone. We decided to change the water to 30 minutes per zone. Don't waste your time with S & O Greenworks. They just want to take your money each month and blame the bad lawn on everything but themselves! read more

We called S&O after a freeze hit the area and caused a lot of damage. The S&O team provided us with great feedback how to trim the affected areas so they wold grow back. On top of that our yard treatment has worked great, the grass is green and thick. We have a lot of oak trees covering large portion of our yard and S&O has been able to treat the grass so it grows and looks GREAT! read more

NOT EVEN ONE STAR!!!! Absolutely the most horrible experience with this company! I had them out to my house 1 time in 2014, and then we decided to save on costs with our new house and cancelled. The company claims I never paid them after submitting proof of my cashed check, they never sent me a bill after the first one, which was paid at the time of service and sent me to collections. Here two years later, needing to sell and buy a new home, guess whats showing up as the only derogatory mark on my credit. Sadly, this company has serviced my families yards for YEARS through out multiple homes in Fish Hawk. We had recommended them and the staff to so many neighbors and now this is the thanks we get. Not to mention, my landscaper has also been handing out their cards and recommending them to his clients for pest control and lawn care services. Attempting to dispute the false charges now. read more
