We are committed to building and maintaining landscapes with low-impact, environmentally-friendly practices. Our specialty is native plants-- the wide range of plants that have grown naturally in Florida for thousands of years. By using natives, we're able to reduce or eliminate harmful practices like chemical spraying and extensive irrigation. With every native Florida plant we use, we're also building habitat and providing food for our local creatures! We've found a way to create beautiful gardens and landscapes while preserving-- not displacing-- Florida's natural beauty.

History
Established in 2005.
Springer Environmental began as Springer Lawn Care, a "traditional" lawn and landscaping company founded by Troy Springer. After years of regular maintenance with checmical fetilizers and herbicides, Troy began to realize how damaging the landscaping industry can be, both to wildlife and to the environment. He searched for alternatives, and became fascinated by the rich variety of plants that grow naturally in Florida. He began to incorporate these native plants into his landscapes, and eventually resolved to use them almost exclusively and to avoid chemicals wherever possible in his work. After several years of developing and practicing eco-friendly gardening, Troy rebranded his company as Springer Environmental. We now work towards a vision of beautiful yards and gardens that restore and support our local ecosystems, outdoor spaces where people and wildlife can thrive together.
Meet the Business Owner: Troy S.
Troy Springer started his career in the landscape business when he founded Springer Lawn Care in 1992 while in college at the University of South Florida. Springer Lawn Care was predominately a mowing and traditional landscape operation. As a devoted wildlife enthusiast, Troy realized that his business practices were harming what was most important to him. He began learning about native plants, experimenting with them and implementing them more and more in his landscape projects. In 2005, Troy closed Springer Lawn Care and opened Springer Environmental Services Inc., with a whole new brand of landscape style. Today, 98% of all plant materials used in Springer Environmental Services designs and installations are native. In addition to installing landscapes, over the years Troy has developed specific maintenance strategies for eco-friendly landscapes.
