The swingset is in good condition. The restroom structure is open even during the pandemic (thank you!). Six tennis courts are fenced in as well. The gazebo is quite pretty for photos. There is a short trail in the back of the park, but it's really only good for peeing in the woods or teenagers making out. As far as tennis goes, I'm not a tennis player. I'm just an athlete that plays tennis. I was down 3-0 and 5-2 in the first set and told myself I was going to break his heart and did: 7-5, 6-4, 6-2. He is good opponent, though. The courts here are a little tight but they're very well kept and you can turn the lights on at night and play for a long time.

It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.

This is a nice park to take kids to for something to do. They had signs saying you shouldn't enter the water in certain places, but people seemed to ignore those. Lots of laughs and splashing heard as we walked around. :) They have several restrooms which were pretty clean for the most part also, which was a good thing. Parking is plentiful, but how close you can park depends on how crowded it is. We were initially directed to an overflow lot but just as we got out of the car, some spaces opened up in the main lot so we were able to move. I believe you can also get on a chartered boat here to go on Lake Norman. Nice place, we will return.

I didn't walk the whole thing, but the area we did walk was so serene. There's some creeks and beautiful trees. It also runs right behind a neighborhood so there are backyards right there on the greenway and that was fun to see. There were a lot of people out and about so I felt perfectly safe. I will be back to the spot often!!! So fun and so pretty!

Great for picnics, family fun and boating…read more Since we moved to Denver NC from Cornelius two years ago, I've wanted to explore some of the amenities such as Parks. Never was able to find the time however. Today was my chance. Most of my time on Lake Norman and Cornelius and parts of Huntersville are right across the water from this Park. Beatty''s Ford is a very old Road that originated in Charlotte and proceeded up to the Natural Ford on the Catawba River and dates back to before the American Revolution. That disappeared when Lake Norman was filled back in the early 1960"s. Beatty's Ford Road is still there and in Huntersville after it crosses NC Hwy 73, it just ends at waters edge. Had a general idea where it was at but confirmed but pulling up a map online. Not far from where we normally have Sunday Breakfast in an area referred to as Triangle. Does not have as many amenities as some of the other Parks around Lake Norman and generally geared to Families with Children or people looking to put their boat into the water and spend a day cruising Lake Norman. Has a great jungle gym, some very nice Picnic Shelters, Hiking Trails and a goodly number of boat ramps. There is a large outdoor fireplace, and it looks like they had disk golf, but it has not been maintained. It's a relaxing place on the water. You can look down stream toward Cowan's Ford Dam and they two large structures are part of the McGuire Nuclear Plant. A little to the left of that, you are looking at neighborhood called the Peninsular and where we lived in Cornelius was on the water about a mile awsy. When the weather gets cooler, definitely going to pack up a picnic basket and spend some quite time here.

Overall a great park with unique features to include in our park rotation.

This park was very well thought out there's so much to do for all ages. It's great. It's right by the trees so if it gets too hot, you can go into the tree line and play with some of the things that are installed there. That part is outside of the fenced play area, but kids still go over there. There's benches and slides and bridges for them to walk across. Sometimes, if you're lucky you might even go during one of the times that the stick huts are built. Or you can even have fun building them yourself. The area in general is typically well-maintained. The bathrooms are pretty clean, at least from the time that I've been there. Overall, I would say if you're looking for a park to visit in the area, this is definitely one You should check out.

I loved the slides and its architectural design. It also has a walk/bike trail just behind the playground. The restroom in this playground is clean! I've never been in a playground with such immaculate restroom. It didn't smell nor was dirty. The playground is fenced so I wasn't so worried that my 4yr old will roam to other areas without me. We will definitely come back here. :)

Another bright side is if and when this place does get a facelift it looks like it'll be pretty neat AND best of all big trees line the area so it's nicely shaded. Another note - weird note- the trees that surround the playground has these trees that drop pussy droplets and then clunk - these hard lime colored and sized things start dropping. I'be only lived here a couple years and have no ideas what they are. Weird choice for landscaping by a playground. After some googling I think they are eastern black walnut trees I'll come back this fall and check the renos out and offer an update.

The park has tennis courts (all of which were in use this late December day), a playground, a large soccer field and a permanent structure with bathrooms. There is a nice paved walking path as well. There are several benches near the playground and it there is a low wall to keep the little ones from walking away.
