Hope Park playground, Mooresville
Bruce K.

I was here for the picnic tables and so were others. It was a pretty solid taking-turns thing where one family arrived as soon as another got up and left. Everyone had various bags from the local fast food joints. It was fun to watch. The picnic shelters are near the (closed) playground and there is close parking. The park also has a lovely walking trail that I enjoyed after eating. The park is connected to the YMCA center nearby. The playground is divided into separate spaces for smaller and bigger kids. Great park "neighborhood" park, it's located at Lowe's Ymca at Morrison. It has a few slides and swings. Along with just a big Jungle gym and Obstacle course. Im always bring the kids I sit for or my nephews. It geared more towards the younger kids less than 7. Big kids really can't play on anything. The ice cream truck usually comes in the afternoon. It also has a splash pad during the summer months.

Everything here is a little bit dated sometimes the water is not working any hours it's supposed to be so that is a little bit of a letdown but all in all it's a pretty good park and it's usually pretty clean any issues here with the safety for my children and my frequent this part.

Good news smoking parents there is a place separate to playground

Great playground for kids, which territory is devided by younger and older kids, so bring everyone! Very clean and well maintained playground with plenty of parking and restroom for your convenience. Also great for socializing as a lot of parents are hanging out with the kids. Love it!

We've been a fan of Hope Park since they opened last year. This is the little park that could. Built on land donated by Lowe's YMCA and maintained by the town of Mooresville, Hope Park was designed by a company that takes kids' ideas and brings them to life and was built by community volunteers and donations. There is a newly opened Splash Pad for cool summer fun and two playgrounds for exploring and enjoying. There is a Tot Lot w/a "Sweet Shop" club house, climbing center w/tunnel, bridge and slide, swings and misters to cool you down. On the larger side (for bigger kids) there is a castle w/two slides, many areas to climb, a fireman pole, a rock wall, etc. Both sides have 'race cars' for kids to drive. The ground is made of soft cork material and astroturf (helloooo Brady Bunch!) To reduce injuries. The park is still making progress so they only get four stars b/c there isn't really any shade and as the sign says, "There's no P in our Hope ...ark" (ie: no restrooms yet.) Even with those two big inconveniences, this is still a great little park for families and we look fwd to many years of fun here.

The playground…read moreis designed to challenge kids of all ages and it's a three-tiered playground for different aged children to enjoy, the one in the farthest back being more toddler/baby friendly in my opinion. There are so many things to climb, lots of sensory details, and this is just overall, a very interactive and unique playground to visit. Fun for moms and dads to join in on the fun too, with the challenging obstacle activities. Not a whole bunch of shaded areas on playground, and you can smell the dumpsters really strongly in the heat, as they are right at entrance of playground. They also have a covered basketball area, which is really nice!!!!! The splash pad is simple yet so fun for the kids!!!! And free!!!!!! Highly recommend! It's a beautifully maintained park! Concession stand and clean bathrooms as well:)

So it's a very interactive park with different dimensions and spaces and materials (textures). I saw kids from 1 to 11 there everyone was having fun. The park was full but not crowded and people were respectful. There is no shade at this playground in particular. Right next to it - maybe adjacent- there is a basketball court (shaded) then another space with cool climbing kids park and a very stylish and insta pic swing with a spacious grass area to relax. I recommend and am very happy that there is amolar ground like this in this area.

I am incredibly impressed with Village Park ... and the city of Kannapolis as a whole! My husband…read moreand I attended the opening show of their free summer concert series, and we were in awe of how well-maintained this park is, and how organized our entire experience was. We arrived around 5:30 PM to claim our seats on the lawn, and thankfully we were able to find a parking spot right near the pedestrian bridge across the street. The city posted a very detailed map of parking options on their Instagram page ... and the amazing thing is, not only is all of that parking free, but there is a free shuttle that will take folks back and forth to their spots if they are unable to walk that far (or even if they just don't want to!) The openers started at 7 PM, and then the main act started around 8:15 PM. This gave the crowd plenty of time to get situated in their spots, grab some snacks, hit the restrooms, or even ride the carousel! This was a family-friendly outdoor concert, and they did a great job of having food/drink/activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. A glass of wine or a can of beer was just $5 each ... which felt like a steal since I'm used to spending more than double that for the same pour at other concert venues. The show itself was awesome ... we saw The Fray and they were everything we wanted them to be and more. The sound and lighting were both great. The layout of the park allowed many folks to stay in their folding chairs for the majority of the show, and still be able to see what was going on on-stage. Five stars all around for Village Park and the city of Kannapolis ... more cities should take note of what a great job they are doing here to engage their community!

It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.
