The park is open for business though some features are roped off because of the pandemic. This lovely and well kept park has a baseball field, bike trail, playground and soccer field. The baseball area has a structure with bathrooms and concessions for when there are big games going. The walking loop is lovely though not particularly shady today. A bunch of folks were on one of the soccer fields doing something that could have been crossfit. Definitely not keeping their social distance today. Beatty's Ford Park in Denver is one of those places the whole family looks forward to every summer…read more Situated right on Lake Norman with a beautiful waterfront setting, and the amenities back it up completely. The splash pad is the big draw for the kids and it delivers. They have a swim beach now too with water quality tested weekly, which is reassuring as a parent. There's a fishing pier if you want to wet a line, a boat ramp for those coming in off the water, and a playground with swings that keeps younger ones busy when they need a break from the splash pad. Covered picnic tables, grills, clean restrooms, and a concession stand round everything out so you can genuinely make a full day of it without having to leave. The setting on Lake Norman makes it feel like more than just a neighborhood park. The views are great and the atmosphere is relaxed. Staff have been friendly every visit. The facility is well maintained and it shows that Lincoln County puts real effort into keeping it clean and accessible. Drive is worth every mile. A fantastic spot for families.

Never was able to find the time however. Today was my chance. Most of my time on Lake Norman and Cornelius and parts of Huntersville are right across the water from this Park. Beatty''s Ford is a very old Road that originated in Charlotte and proceeded up to the Natural Ford on the Catawba River and dates back to before the American Revolution. That disappeared when Lake Norman was filled back in the early 1960"s. Beatty's Ford Road is still there and in Huntersville after it crosses NC Hwy 73, it just ends at waters edge. Had a general idea where it was at but confirmed but pulling up a map online. Not far from where we normally have Sunday Breakfast in an area referred to as Triangle. Does not have as many amenities as some of the other Parks around Lake Norman and generally geared to Families with Children or people looking to put their boat into the water and spend a day cruising Lake Norman. Has a great jungle gym, some very nice Picnic Shelters, Hiking Trails and a goodly number of boat ramps. There is a large outdoor fireplace, and it looks like they had disk golf, but it has not been maintained. It's a relaxing place on the water. You can look down stream toward Cowan's Ford Dam and they two large structures are part of the McGuire Nuclear Plant. A little to the left of that, you are looking at neighborhood called the Peninsular and where we lived in Cornelius was on the water about a mile awsy. When the weather gets cooler, definitely going to pack up a picnic basket and spend some quite time here.

Located next to a…read morecharter school and a fire department, this park is operated by Lincoln County thanks to the efforts of the Rotary Club of Denver and Lake Norman. The park is named in recognition of the devotion and service provided by the East Lincoln Rescue Squad and the citizens of Eastern Lincoln County who supported the Rescue Squad over the years. Rescue Squad Park includes a picnic shelter, two multi-purpose athletic fields, nine hole disk golf course, playground and is also the home of the Denver Farmer's Market (Saturdays 8am-12pm). A dog park is located towards the very back and right as you enter. A half mile walking trail around the park which I enjoyed today. The playground is in excellent condition and has a cover to provide some shade because otherwise it would be cooking in the sun. The massive picnic shelter is available for reservations at times not designated for recreation programs/public use. Reservations can be made for 2 hour blocks. This park was very well thought out there's so much to do for all ages. It's great. It's right by the trees so if it gets too hot, you can go into the tree line and play with some of the things that are installed there. That part is outside of the fenced play area, but kids still go over there. There's benches and slides and bridges for them to walk across. Sometimes, if you're lucky you might even go during one of the times that the stick huts are built. Or you can even have fun building them yourself. The area in general is typically well-maintained. The bathrooms are pretty clean, at least from the time that I've been there. Overall, I would say if you're looking for a park to visit in the area, this is definitely one You should check out.

I loved the slides and its architectural design. It also has a walk/bike trail just behind the playground. The restroom in this playground is clean! I've never been in a playground with such immaculate restroom. It didn't smell nor was dirty. The playground is fenced so I wasn't so worried that my 4yr old will roam to other areas without me. On top of that, one of the baseball fields was being used for little league play and they were going all out. The park has two picnic shelters with tables and grills, a tennis court, basketball court, batting cages, restrooms, splashpad and two playgrounds. One of the playgrounds is named after Zahra Baker and I'd suggest you not go look up that name. The park is handicapped accessible including some of the rides. The four baseball fields are lighted. Parking was very limited today with lots of parents bringing their kids and hanging out. I managed to find a legal spot in front of a home on a cross street. Don't block driveways or fire hydrants! There are plenty of shaded areas surrounding the park and plenty of parking spaces. This park is not local for us otherwise it would definitely be a part of our weekly park rotation. If you're nearby though and have some rambunctious kiddies, this is the place to take them.
