Swaney Pointe K-9 park is a four-acre fenced in area where dogs can run off-leash. Located near the entrance to Ramsey Creek Park in Cornelius, Swaney Pointe has two separate fenced areas: one for dogs under 20 lbs. and one for dogs over 20 lbs. There is an open, grassed in area and a smaller wooded section closer to the front-fence area that allows some shade. As part of the Mecklenburg County Park and Rec. Department, the park is free, meaning county-wide dog park rules apply. Pooch passes are no longer sold or required. Operating hours are dawn 'til dusk, Monday thru Friday.

Great dog park. Well maintained. Large dog area and small dog area. The boys had a great time!

DO NOT BOARD AT LUCKY DOG! The dogs are most definitely not lucky when they're here…read more Our two dogs have come home covered in pee multiple times. When we dug further into it we found out they were NOT caring for our dogs. They have only 2 handlers for upwards of 100 dogs. One of our dogs came home with a huge gash on his face and they didn't catch it, or report it to us. They come home anxious every boarding visit. When we dug further we found out that one of our dogs was so anxious she was chewing on a cot (she doesn't chew things at home, or any other boarding place we've ever used.) Instead of telling us, they just made a note in their system that she doesn't get a cot... We asked them to kennel together and so both of our dogs were sleeping on cold hard tile floor for their entire stays, sometimes as long as a week or two when we've taken longer trips. Instead of taking any responsibility for any of this they blamed our dogs. Their manager confirmed to me they don't require handlers have ANY certifications or qualifications. I asked for a GM or assistant GM to get in touch with me about whether they even do background checks and they are ignoring us. Lucky Dog used to be great when they were family owned. Roughly around 2022 they were bought out by a corporation called Village Pet and it's clear they are trying to suck as much profit out of the business while they can. They've raised their rates and cut down on the staff. In NC handlers can only have 10 dogs out per handler so your pets are NOT getting as much attention or outside time as they should be. This place is the worst. We have 4 friends that also used Lucky Dog and after hearing what was happening they're also finding another boarding place. We'll be telling anyone who will listen to ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE.

Over some relatively smooth grass, so not completely handicapped accessible. Entrance to the park requires registration with the City of Davidson Police Department where you'll be required to bring a copy of the rabiest vaccination certificate. Inside the fully enclosed park, there are water fountains, shaded areas, places for the humans to sit and even a hiking trail and natural area. It's really pretty darned cool. A few folks have left doggie toys for play. [Review 13409 overall, 728 of 2020.]

You end up with community gardens, childrens play area, nice quiet area to sit and reflect and a very nice dog park. Lexi (Welsh Corgi) and I went to explore today Took a bit of hunting plus a GPS to find the park but well worth it. Ample parking, nice double gate to get in, tennis balls for our furry friends, picknic tables and sitting areas for the humans and a big water dish. Unfortunately it had just stopped raining when we got her so there were no dogs for Lexi to play with. Nice facility otherwise. Strongly suggest as a different place to bring your friendly canine

I've been taking my kids to Clarks Creek since it opened. While this park does have some pluses…read morethere are minuses. The bathrooms are almost always nasty, they either don't have toilet paper or don't have paper towels to dry your hands. If it's the summer time and you're taking your kids for the splash pad, bring water shoes. The floors are disgusting. The trashes get overflown and the flies are everywhere. I don't know who thought it was a great idea to have metal slides with no shade but if it's a peak summer day, you're not gonna want your kids going down those slides, especially if they've got shorts on, their butts will get fried. Also, not sure whose idea it was to have the wooden rocking toy thing for kids because those did not last long. The handles broke after a year. When it comes to usable things for kids to play on at this park, the options are extremely limited. I would've loved to see something that kids could actually climb on and slide from that wasn't meant to be poor installation art. The main thing our kids do when we're there is swing on the only two swings climb up in the big web net thing and roll down the turf hill. The only well-kept areas in this park are the Pickleball courts and the dog park. There's definitely ample parking. There's a community garden that you can look at. If you come at the right time when the figs are ripe, you can pick them right off the tree so that's nice.

It was quite busy - not surprising given the mid 80s temps and not a cloud in sight. But I was still able to find some quieter areas. Jetton Park is perfect for hot days. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.
