The Ross was a Ross and I went to a sporting goods store that was OK. But it had nice, hilly terrain and I got a pretty good workout during my wait. Parking was easy but the best thing is that they have an Ike's so my husband and I can grab a Sando on our way back home and grub. They also have a few other stores that have closed locations near us, so I think that I'll come by to see the Marshalls (see my review), Ross, Ikes, Best Buy, DSW and more.

There were good items. I bought some things but the high ticket items that everybody wants a very difficult to get. I have yet to get the things I really would love. Recently, I came back, I've been trying to get a specific item because I really need it and it's pretty expensive but even though they have about seven or eight of them, I never seem to be able to grab it quick enough or people won't let me in to where the bins are and so I miss out. Meanwhile, I'm bringing a lot of boxes to be opened in a huge amount of stuff is broken damaged or doesn't work it's really disgusting when they open a package and it's very visibly used. Today they opened a small vacuum and I ended up getting dirt from it all over the place. If you're reading this at your deciding whether to come just know that it's extremely important. Did you have them open the boxes because it isn't always what it shows on the box and electronic items or items that breakable are probably broken but not always. I travel over an hour to get here and have to pay toll fees and gas, unless they start getting items that are not used and broken. I'm probably not going to come back. There's gotta be another bin store closer that has items that aren't broken

Since Marshall's has dressing rooms and a return policy and the thrift shop has neither, the dud rate on thrift shopping may drive the cost higher than Marshall's. Marshalls also has better hours than your average thrift shop. Overall, this Marshall's has better stock than other Marshall's and Rosses which were stocked to the ceilings with cheap exercise clothing and not much else. I also checked out the kitchen selection. It was temptingly low priced but I already have. I was looking for a really large 8-12 qt pot and boom! There they were and significantly lower priced than the thrift. Marshall's just joined the short list of my go to stores.

After due deliberation, I selected a red card that seemed to exist only to give me a 5% off discount if I paid in cash at the register. I called that unbelievably specific. Today I tried to use it for the first time. According to the extremely helpful and expert Cashier, the card may have not worked because I didn't have the target mobile app loaded on my phone. Apparently I need the card and the app to automatically upload my coupons to the register? So what is this, two factor authentication for coupons? The target online services just leave me dazed and confused.

Because I urgently needed to use the restroom, I continued shopping and went to check out. There was a long line of customers with only one cashier, so the wait was quite long. When I finally reached the register, I spoke with Elizabeth and asked if the restrooms were actually out of order. She kindly and politely confirmed that they were working and immediately helped me gain access to the restroom. I want to recognize Elizabeth for her professionalism and willingness to help. However, the earlier interaction was disappointing. As someone who works in hospitality, I understand how important customer experience and accurate communication are. A simple moment like this can make a big difference in how customers feel when visiting a store. Thank you to Elizabeth for turning the situation around with kindness and professionalism.

She dealt with the long ass lines with no complaining from her and from us waiting 20-30 minutes in line. So I deal with medical migraines and that heat was unbearable and I felt light headed the entire time I was there. I asked why the heater was so cranked up, she said that's how it is in every location. WTF, corporate you want your customers to pass out? Next time have more people working, and keep the temperature down and comfortable for everyone shopping and working there.
