They even trimmed an Oak tree just because they noticed it needed trimming at no extra charge! A few years ago, the front of our school had no landscaping and we hired Mahan and Sons to do all of the plans and the work and keep it in a great budget. They did a beautiful job and even added drought resistant plants! We didn't even know how fortunate we were until this most recent drought. The front of our school still looks fabulous today! I would highly recommend this company. Diane, who is the "Mahan" part of the company has 30 years experience as a city arborist. She really knows what she is doing and she has taught her sons everything about trees. One of her sons is also a certified arborist too! You would be in excellent hands if you used Mahan and Sons, inc. for your landscaping needs!

We basically tore everything…read moredown to the studs and did some reconfiguring of the interior, as well as redoing all plumbing and electrical. With Joe and his team, we transformed a home that hasn't been renovated since the 60's to the home of our dreams. We were referred to Joe by a trusted friend, and after a phone call with an overview of what our plans were, we met Joe in person at our home for an initial walkthrough. Both my wife and I were impressed with how thorough he was with details regarding the renovation; it was immediately obvious he was a master of his craft, with a vast amount of experience and knowledge in construction. More importantly, he's down to earth and honest; his transparency was very much appreciated. Joe and his crew take pride in their work. He'd go above and beyond by suggesting certain looks or practical modifications to our original request; it often felt like he was renovating for himself! For the project, he provided a clearly marked timeline and walked us through all the options for both finished and unfinished materials. His encyclopedic knowledge of stores in the Bay Area saved us a lot of money, and we got exactly what we wanted to build our home with! Home renovation is never a easily forecasted task; there are many surprises or issues that come up. With Joe, we knew we were in good hands. When a challenge did come up, he made sure to explain the options to us and address it immediately. Communication is key in this process, and Joe excels at it - he's very responsive by phone and text. His crew is polite and also share Joe's willingness to educate and explain the process. All in all, we felt that Joe became a family friend in the construction business and have recommended him to multiple friends and family. If you are looking for top quality work, reasonable pricing, and a trustworthy expert, look no further than Joe and his team!

If you are looking for a professional, innovative, artistic and problem solvers construction/renovation company I can certainly tell you that Joe is the only company to consider. He came by Our Sunnyvale home for a preliminary appointment - On time, was extremely patient with me answering my so many questions, came up with a proposal and solutions of where to move things around to give my kitchen the modern look it needed yet making it as functional as possible, which is exactly what I was looking for. He even designed and drew sketches and plans right there on the spot to help me visualize it all. I had several contractors given me quotes before, and never felt they were the right one, something just did not click, until Joe came in the picture. His quote and solution was the most reasonable, detailed and within my budget. I immediately felt at ease consulting, asking, thinking and brain storming with him. Joe also went out of his way to go with me to stores, or recommending ones, providing useful and important input to help me choose, which can sometimes feel overwhelming, thus made this process so much easier for me. Apart from working extremely fast on the renovations, always showing on time, Joe stood out in 2 areas that in my opinion are the keys to being the great contractor and person that he is - Him and his crew were extremely artistic (I ended up hiring their services for other areas in the home, for example, they created a unique and fabulous stone wall on top of the fireplace in my living room and created a barn-like wooden wall in the bedroom); Joe was also a wizard in solving any issues/challenges that came, especially since my home was built in 1962. The words "Not Possible" or "Cannot do that" are just not in is vocabulary... I know I just earned a contractor for life, I intend to rehire Joe for additional jobs in the future and I so strongly recommend for anyone to not waste any time and to look no further as you will not find another contractor with such high standards, professionalism, reasonable prices and above all - Contractor you can trust.

I have called, listened to the message about them being busy and to send a text. So I sent a text, no response. I emailed from their contact page on the website, no response. Hey if your business is doing so well that you can't return a call, text or email I guess more power to you. One would think in this day and age of highly competitive small businesses, that each opportunity would be viewed with a higher regard. Keep searching. Updated review! Since my review, we received a call back from Clint and he promptly scheduled a time to meet with us. This was our third meeting with concrete contractors. Clint was helpful and certainly more knowledgeable than the other two companies we met with. He provided a proposal within 24 hours, which was great as we had to wait several days from the other companies. After reviewing the proposals and Yelp, we decided to give CLC our business. To our surprise within a couple days, Clint had an opening for demo. Once the demo was completed the new concrete pour was schedule for a few days later. Great thing about Clint was that he took the time to explain the process to us. For the most part things went according to plan. Like with any construction project, you will have hiccups or issues. The key is how those issues are addressed and how fast they are resolved. We did have a few issues and Clint was quick to provide a resolution. There were some moments during the coloring process where we got a bit nervous as the color didn't appear to be what we selected. Clint kept reminding to trust him and the process. We did and our driveway came out absolutely amazing 10 out of 10. Couldn't be happier. Given the size of our porch and the elevation code, we had to use a different material. Which again, made us a bit nervous. Clint did a great jon of matching the color and texture. There were a few questionable spots, but it's important to remember that we are working with concrete and stone. Nothing will ever be perfect. Porch grade is a 8 out of 10. Given Clint's effort, attention to detail and his desire to ensure his clients are happy, he definitely earned this 5 star review. If you are looking for high quality concrete work at a reasonable price, make sure you contact CLC! Thanks Clint

The quality of the workmanship was superb and Tu and Vinh were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were responsive, flexible and tolerant of significant changes we proposed on the fly due to a lack of foresight on our part regarding critical aspects of the project. When we requested supplemental painting and other assorted tasks (not in the original work plan) Tu and Vinh agreed at once, charging us almost nothing extra. In response to a fairly long "punch list" that we drew up at the end of the project, they could not have been more accommodating. They addressed every item large and small without a single objection or extra fee. We love our new kitchen and the process of getting it was virtually pain free. I can't recommend NW Sunstars highly enough! I have no doubt that we will be working with them again in the future.
