I absolutely hate cleaning my apartment so if I can outsource, I do! This was the first time I've used Greenforce Clean Team's services. Came across their deal on Groupon, and called them up. Their front desk was super friendly and helpful. Reviews on Groupon and Yelp were so-so but took a risk anyways. The day of, two ladies showed up about an hour earlier than scheduled. It was fine but I had a meeting while working from home which was a little inconvenient to get the door. Anyways they had all the necessary equipment and started right away. The service was for 2 hours but they finished in 1.5 hours. Overall great job - very clean, all the rooms were orderly, bathtub was sparkling. Better than I could ever clean myself. Something to note is that I speak Cantonese so it was helpful when I needed to communicate with them. I didn't have to give too many pointers but it did aid the conversation. I will definitely call again and request their services in a few months when my place needs a deep clean! read more

Worst cleaning crew we have ever come across. I wish Yelp had the option of 0 stars. We hired Greenforce for cleaning services per our condo management's recommendation after our interior renovation and they were some of the worst cleaners we've come across. I'm honestly not sure what they even cleaned after being here for 2 days. There were still thick layers of dust everywhere to the point you could swipe your finger across it and see it. We just had a baby and had to bring the newborn back home to this mess. They also left bags of trash in our common hallways instead of throwing it out and actually walked out on our designers when they pointed out lots of areas they had missed. We ended up not paying them for their second day of "services." We had to have another cleaning crew come in the week afterwards. read more

We've been in search of house cleaners for awhile but I just can't find the right ones. I jumped on this Groupon offer and used it last week. I hadn't noticed that the deal was restricted to 2 "man-hours" which means 1 hour when 2 people show up. So on the phone I paid for an additional hour. All in all it was $89 with a supposed savings of $49. One then expects $138 worth of service, right? When I made the appointment I was explicit that I would be out and the "clean team" shouldn't arrive till 2 pm but they were there as I drove up -- 20 minutes early. Strike 1. The two women spoke very little English and apparently did not understand my spoken words nor my list. Since I was paying more than the original deal I expected the kitchen, 2 small bathrooms, and a few other additional things could be handled in the 4 "man-hours." There was a grease stain on the kitchen ceiling they never noticed though it was on the list. Strike 2. They didn't really finish the kitchen and were only able to vacuum our stairs in the given time. I've paid less to have the entire house cleaned. When I showed them the stairs they laughed and spoke to each other in what I believe was a Chinese dialect. I don't know what's green about this company. The bathrooms and kitchen smelled like bleach after they left. An additional perk to using green household cleaners is a fresher smelling house -- lemon or orange. I purchased a Groupon for 3 two hour cleanings.. I had to call my friend to translate into Cantonese because the office was closed. The were shaming me for having a coupon to each other. I have been extremely busy, hence why I called a cleaning service. Not to feel judged. I caught them standing around talking and one lady was on her phone texting. I was hoping for a better cleaning job. I hope this review helps them improve their services. I am looking for a permanent bi monthly service but I don't think it's going to be them. Also, they said they couldn't move the couch and made me do it. This was literally the point in hiring someone to help me move the couch. I also tripped twice because they leave the vacuum in the middle of the floor ( I tripped In the hallway and the living room) I hope the next time they come back they have someone able to translate and can be more accommodating to the customer. In response to the business reply, they did not contact anybody to translate. I did. I called one of my friends that speaks Cantonese because I grew up in Chinatown. They were simply on their phone. So as previously stated by the previous yelp review, I would have never found them if it hadn't been for the purchase of the groupon. The groupon was perfect, sord of like a job interview, except I wouldn't hire them to clean my house. They were here for about an hour. They did an okay job on the bathroom, I still had to go in there and clean a couple of things afterwards, they did a almost okay job in the kitchen. One thing that drives me crazy is when a house cleaner goes around everything on the counter instead of moving them out of the way and cleaning underneath them. As soon as I left I checked, and they cleaned around them. I was not impressed. I do have to give them credit....they were on time. Update: The owner of Greenforce team is highly customer service oriented!!!! I originally gave them 2.5 stars for their service, but have to give them another because of their amazing follow up!!!! I bought a $59 Groupon for a 2-hr cleaning ($143 value) for my house (2 br 2 ba, hardwood throughout) thinking that I had a great deal and was hopeful that I can use them on a recurring service if they did a good job. Unfortunately I was very disappointed!! First the two ladies showed up late, okay not that big of a deal. After I showed them what I needed done, one of the ladies snapped at me right away and said, "we only clean 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom' and won't be able to finish cleaning the whole house. Uhhh...ok. But the coupon only advertised a 2-hr cleaning with 2 people. It did not say anything about 1 bd & 1 ba limitation. Plus our house is not that dirty and we barely cook in our kitchen so it's not that hard to clean... I walked into the kitchen to grab a glass of water and found one of the woman talk on her cell phone while cleaning the kitchen. I returned to the kitchen 5 minutes later to find her still on the phone. As soon as she hangs up, her phone immediate rings again and she's back talking while cleaning. -1 star I went back to the living room to play with my baby after the ladies left from the supposedly 2 hour cleaning. I did not inspect the cleaning right away and preferred to trust that they would do a thorough job..until I noticed that my baby was picking up something from the floor and was trying to put it in her mouth. Crumbs? Umm...didn't the house JUST get cleaned? - 1 star I find visible dust bunnies and dust coating surfaces after they leave. Spots on the floor that should have come clean if they had mopped. - 1 star The TV stand still had a layer of dust on it. -1 star I found my bathroom mat on my bed, not back on the bathroom floor. Umm....why is there a dirty bathroom mat on my bed??? -1 star Overall I was very disappointed with the service. I felt their goal was to get out of there as quickly as possible rather than get things clean. I would be giving "0" stars if that was an option. Horrible customer service! At first I was excited when I found a Groupon for housecleaning. I called and upgraded my service to a whole house clean and was relatively happy when I returned to a cleaner apartment. I decided to set up a reoccurring schedule and gave them a key. Unfortunately, I kept pushing the cleaning date due to travel. They ended up cleaning my home once...which now I can say is one time too many. The other appointment I scheduled I canceled (via voice message) because my roommate and I ended up moving out prior to our scheduled cleaning date. Thankfully we found another cleaning service (who now clean our new house - PM me if you would like their name) off of CL who did a full move out clean for less money. Yay! Fast forward to today and I receive a call asking for payment from my July 3rd cleaning. Huh!? That's odd, I called and canceled that service and I didn't even live there on July 3rd (my roommate and I moved out July 1st). I politely tried to explain this to the first woman who called me; there was a very noticeable language barrier. She said she would look into the matter and call me back. About five minutes later I receive a second call and the woman I spoke with said, "Well, two people cleaned your apartment for two hours and we've paid them" suggesting I now need to pay them. The main thing, I canceled the appointment! I never received a reminder call the day before. If there had been an appointment scheduled I would have received one! Not to mention, the place had a full deep clean two days prior on July 1st (I witnessed it as did my roommate) and Greenforce Clean Team had the audacity to say the apartment was dirty. It was empty with no furniture and spotless. I guess I should have listened to some of the other reviews on Yelp regarding their horrible customer service, may I repeat, HORRIBLE customer service! Word to the wise, if you do chose to have Greenforce Clean Team tidy up your home I would recommend having all correspondence by email. I called Greenforce to come clean our bathroom and kitchen because I had a Groupon. This said two hours of cleaning. They came over and cleaned for exactly ONE hour and left. The kicker? THEY WEREN'T DONE. Two ladies came and one was cleaning the burners on the stove before they took off. She only finished one. And - they left three bags of garbage for us to throw out which doesn't make sense. Why would I hire cleaners so I can clean up after them? OTHER CONS: - They used up almost an entire roll of our paper towels. I don't think Greenforce is that green. - Language barrier. We wanted to ask for an estimate for monthly cleanings but it wasn't possible. Since they left before finishing, we're just going to look for another company. I had to change this to a one-star after initially posting my review. Not only did they use paper towels, they finished a roll of toilet paper. Paper towels I can understand. Toilet paper? For cleaning?? And after thinking about it some more, I'm really dissatisfied with this service. Let's just say I like to get my money's worth! I've had previous experience with cleaning services, so I have an idea of how a cleaning service's version of "clean" is supposed to look and feel. I read Greenforce's Yelp reviews beforehand, and was pretty apprehensive. But I figured "okay, whatever, I already bought the Groupon, let's just see what happens". So I call Greenforce and made an appointment for them to come at 10:30 am in the morning on a Monday. The person I spoke with while making the appointment specified that there would be TWO (2) cleaners coming, and each cleaner would be cleaning for ONE (1) hour. That is, the total time they would be at my house would be one (1) hour, but it's counted as two hours since one person is cleaning the kitchen, and the other person is cleaning the bathroom. Okay, no problem, I get it. I'm glad this was explained to me. I think those details should have been more specific in the Groupon. My fiance was the one who was home when they arrived, and said they arrived early, which worked out for him. He said they got to work while he watched TV in our living room, and stayed for about an hour. Cool. When I got home, I inspected the kitchen and bathroom. They did a great job! I was pleasantly surprised (and, due to all the iffy Yelp reviews, relieved) that they did well. My grungy-ass bathtub was sparkling, with no black gunk in the tiles and the chrome fixtures were nice and shiny. They got rid of all the soap scum (god I hate soap scum!). The toilet and tiled floor were super clean. Kitchen floor and counters were clean, oven/toaster/microwave were clean, etc. Everything was clean! They did a way better job than me or my fiance would've done, and cleaned everything I expected them to. I did notice that a a few little things were not in the same place that they're usually in (e.g cat's littler box was moved a little, with entrance facing the wrong way...? A basket of dish rags was not put back to where it usually is on the counter....?). I think what happened is that they moved stuff to clean under it, and just didn't orient the object the right way when they put it back. No biggie. The Greenforce Groupon was featured on 5/25/2010, and I'm glad I waited a little while to redeem it. Over 1,700 Groupons were purchased for Greenforce's service that day, so I think Greenforce may have had a huge influx of customers for the first month or so after the deal ended. It's certainly no excuse for sub-par service, but it seems like they've ironed out some previous issues and are aware of their Yelp reviews. I would totally use them again! :) read more

First, they arrived 30 minutes late and called me to ask me for directions at 9am when they were supposed to be at my place at 9am. In the 13 years we've been in San Francisco I've only had my apartment professionally cleaned twice. The first two had absolutely nothing on the most recent experience we had with Greenforce. The two cleaners showed up exactly on time. I gave them a quick tour of the apartment, showed them the two rooms I was hoping they'd focus on and they got to work. Two hours later both my bathroom and kitchen were spotless. They went above and beyond and actually cleaned my fridge and some cabinets--things that other cleaning services just glossed over before. So much of what makes this great are the people; I purchased mine as part of a three-part Groupon. Meh. I'm lazy. I admit it. But when I pay for a cleaning service, I want them to do more than I would do myself. Do my walls! Scrub it down! I can wipe all the surfaces myself, and honestly, mine were not that dirty. I had a Groupon. They came in, they cleaned for an hour -- 2 people x 1 hour = 2 hours. The Groupon was valued at $89, i believe. They were fine. Very surface cleaning. Pretty much what I do when I clean at home. In about the same time. They weren't "green" in any way shape or form. They did use a lot of my supplies. They did bring some of their own (I saw some Comet). Not sure how they're "green" other than their name. Not sure how the services I received were valued at $89, SO GLAD I didn't pay extra for the whole house cleaning. Did get a nice phone call from dispatch inquiring if the cleaners arrived on time (they did) and if translation services were needed just to call them back (they weren't needed.) I've had better luck in the past with calling private individuals off of Craigslist. Maybe I got lucky, but I really can't fathom why Greenforce would deserve fewer than 5 stars. I too purchased a Groupon and didn't once feel that this had a negative impact on quality. The two amazing ladies (Eva and Sun) arrived 15 minutes early, but I only know this because I spotted them out the window. They got everything ready and waited until the scheduled appointment time to ring the doorbell. And wow, did they do an amazing job! So thorough and so much accomplished within two hours. They even found nooks and crannies I never knew existed but which, I realized, desperately needed cleaning. I am so impressed! I was so excited when I finally decided to splurge and hire someone to come and clean my house. I live in a very small apartment and I figured two people could do wonders in two hours. I imagined glistening floors, cupboards I could see my reflection in, the discovery of new found treasures unveiled from layers of dust. A few seconds later my bathroom and kitchen were getting all spiffed up as some of the latest dance music provided a soundtrack. This was my first time using a professional cleaning service so I don't have anything to compare to, overall, I was pleased. One lady was running a bit late, but she wasted little time upon arriving in making my stove sparkle. The other lady went to work in the bathroom and somehow got some rather stubborn marks off the shower floor. Everything had a new apartment feel by the time they left. I've had a Greenforce Team twice to my two bedroom one bathroom house. The First time with a Groupon. And, the second time, because the cleaners worked so hard and did so well the first, I paid full price. The woman who answers the phone and does the scheduling is very professional. The cleaners were on time in both instances and worked nonstop all three hours. My oven which has never been cleaned (at least by me) is immaculate. I would have given four stars because I wasn't completely happy with the kitchen floor on one occasion, however, when I pointed this out to the cleaner, she immediately redid the whole floor without a second thought. And it shined. In other words I felt completely comfortable asking them to go over something again and pointing out ares where I wanted special attention (like the bathroom). My experience with them was excellent. Bought the groupon and scheduled two ladies to come in to clean. They called ahead to remind me and called again on scheduled time to confirm the arrival. For one hour of cleaning time, I asked them to just focus on my kitchen, since that's the place needing most of the work. But once kitchen is sparkly clean one of the ladies moved to the bathroom right away. I was not expecting in an hour that they could do everything, but they sure did a lot and did a good enough job. So overall, on time, worked hard, and friendly. Also no smell of chemicals afterwards, not even lemon or orange scents, which I appreciate. They kicked off my spring cleaning to a good start. This is the second Greenforce cleaning I've had, with two different teams. This is my assessment: One, they use unmarked bottles. So how does one know that they're actually using earth-friendly chemicals - honestly, the house doesn't smell AT ALL when they're finished so it's likely they're only using water. I'd love for it to have that freshly cleaned smell but it does not. Two, the second time they came, they showed up 45 min early. I had to jump out of the shower and answer the door in my towel. Lucky I was home at all because originally, I was planning to come home from work to meet them right at 3. Thankfully, I was sick that day and home to meet them at 2:15 instead. Three, I find visible dust bunnies and dust coating surfaces after they leave. Spots on the floor that should have come clean if they had mopped. Gosh, I could have done this quicker and more thoroughly myself. It's uncomfortable to go around "checking and correcting" while they're there. I'd rather trust that they're going to do a thorough job. Especially when they seemed to be killing time for the last 20 minutes or so, with one of them doing nothing at all. Lastly, this last time, they sent two Asian women. Completely fine by me except there were a few times when it sounded as if they were really arguing. (Perhaps because one of them was lazy?) I used a Groupon to have my kitchen and one bathroom cleaned for $40. I probably wouldn't have heard of them or tried them out otherwise, as their normal prices seem a bit high. I had no problems with making a reservation for the next week, and they gave me a reminder call the day before the appointment. They did come about 20 minutes late, but were apologetic about it. I was surprised to only see two women, as I normally use Patty's House Cleaning in Redwood City and they have a team of four people. One person cleaned the kitchen while the other worked on the bathroom. An hour later, they were done. The quality of work was not bad, but it wasn't stellar. There were still some stains in the shower and a few pieces of hair. The kitchen looked great though. I'm not sure their regular price justifies the 20 minute tardiness and decent but not great work, so I probably won't use them again. read more

I purchased my cleaning through Groupon, thinking I couldn't go wrong with the deal being offered - $40 for 2 hours of cleaning. Very little value - they're okay if you just want some surface cleaning, but for thoroughness and attention to detail they are by far, the worst I've ever had. When I called to schedule, the soonest appointment I got was one month away with very little flexibility on time or day. The girl handling the phone seemed irritated and explained that their business had just been overwhelmed with the Groupon offer. Obviously a little short on manpower. My two cleaners arrived on time - they spoke little English so it was hard to communicate. When they left, I could hardly tell that the place had been cleaned. You would think that a first cleaning would be above and beyond, but none of my cabinets were cleaned ~ no oven cleaning ~ no refrigerator cleaning ~ no dusting (cabinets & refrigerator) ~ no trash cans emptied ~ no doors cleaned. And I have to have one of the smallest bathrooms around! It was below mediocre. I can't believe the pricing - for one hour a customer has to pay $80 (normal price) - they do a nice job of selling it as two cleaners providing one hour of cleaning each, but that's bogus. Bottom line is the customer is paying $80/hour. I have had cleaners before and have never come close to paying $80 an hour (they also have two cleaner teams). You're telling me these two ladies make $40 an hour! Way over-priced and horrible cleaning! Time to come clean, GreenForce! read more

I'm surprised by the variation in the ratings. I was really happy with the service and plan to have them back. I bought a "2-hour house cleaning session with two people" on Groupon ($59, normally $143). I set up an appointment for the day I was moving out. The woman I spoke with was friendly and easy to understand. She told me that some of the team members didn't speak very good English but that I could just call their office and they would translate for me. The office followed up with me later to give me a reminder call, which I appreciated. Helen and Cynthia showed up right on time, worked quietly and efficiently, and got everything done on time, with 15 minutes to spare. They were friendly, and their English was fine. The apartment looked great afterwards. I had pointed out a couple of things to pay particular attention to, and they did. The next morning, the office called me again to make sure that I was satisfied with everything. This was great, because, of course, sometimes it takes time for you to see if cleaners have overlooked something. I was delighted by the work they did, and I will be hiring them again. read more

I was referred to green clean by a friend who is an apartment manager. I was guided to specifically list out everything that I wanted them to do before getting a quote. The lady on the phone patiently waited for me to list everything it before giving me a quote. For my studio, with three people cleaning at about an hour and a half the quote was for $132. Because of traffic, it took them slightly longer to get to my apartment then anticipated, but I received a phone call letting me know if the situation well ahead if time. The actual cleaning service seemed perfectly decent, and I have no complaints. They did a move out cleaning and did everything I requested. I would use them again if I was living in the city. I needed to find someone to clean my mother-in-laws house same day and I think I called every cleaning company in SF and was answered with a negative ghostrider. I thought Greenforce was one of the numbers I dialed first since it was one of the first places to pop up, but I guess I was so eager I skipped it on accident. Stella was very helpful and accommodated with me even though we were first timers with them. They came within the hour and did a spectacular job! Sometimes you need the extra help! Working full-time and having a toddler doesn't leave much time for my husband and I to clean as thoroughly as we would like. Having a Groupon for Greenforce helped us in a pinch when we were expecting family to stay with us for a few days. The ladies sent to clean my home were friendly and on time. The Groupon was limited to two hours and only the living room, kitchen, bathroom and a bedroom. Those rooms looked amazingly clean when they finished. My white bathroom was sparkling! Cleaning goes beyond the dusting, mopping and vacuuming. They made my bed, put away my daughter's toys, arranged our shoe rack , etc. It's amazing what can happen in two hours. Also, I was happy they used safe and natural cleaning products. Didn't have to worry about toxic fumes around my child. My husband came home and was so impressed with the service. We are planning to use them regularly to help us maintain our home. I was happy to learn when you book them for two hours without a Groupon that they will clean any room so this time my dining room and other bedrooms will get the extra cleaning as time permits. read more

A customer service rep messaged me within hours of my initial review. He kept pushing the traffic excuse, saying that something in the morning caused all the rest of the appointments for the day become late. However, apparently none of the later appointments were informed. When I rebutted the traffic again, he added that the team had to go back and forth across the bridge twice. That sounds like poor planning if you're having one team do both SF and East Bay in the same day, going back and forth. Anyways, a team came the following week, and on time. They immediately got to work when they came in. One lady did a bathroom, while another did the kitchen. In the kitchen, the lady cleaned the microwave, the oven, and even the toaster oven, as well as the floor and counters. They even stayed a bit over the hour mark and vacuumed a rug in the living room. The bathroom lady cleaned the shower, mirrors, floors, and counters. They both did a good job. Not completely spotless, but a decent job. The kitchen lady seemed to accidentally use our sink sponge for cleaning one of the ovens because there was a black mark on it after they left, but it seemed like she realized her mistake after the one swipe and switched to her own. The customer service guy messaged me again after I let him know how it went. He noticed I hadn't updated my rating, and offered a complete refund if that would make me a satisfied customer. I declined since they came back and did the work decently, and am finally finding time to update my review now. read more

Greenforce has been my regular, biweekly cleaning team for probably 3 years now. They've always been timely for their regular appointments, and I think I've maybe had one thing break -- a cheapo $5 glass candlestick. They've always done a thorough job doing "maintenance" cleaning on my place; they leave and the kitchen is clean, floors clean, bathrooms clean, everything dusted, etc. I've also hired them for special post-party cleanups. I can't believe these reviews are so low! I bought a $39 Groupon for a kitchen and bathroom cleaning by the Greenforce Clean Team a year ago and finally used it in January. They were accommodating to my work schedule while booking a time, they called the day before to reconfirm the appointment, and they showed up on time (err..about 10 minutes early actually). They sent two women who immediately divided themselves up between the kitchen and bathroom. About 45 mins to an hour later, my kitchen and bathroom were cleaner than I knew they could get. There were a few places that I wish they had cleaned (like the framing around my bathroom window), but overall I was very satisfied. This was my first professional apartment cleaning, so I don't know what my standards should be, but I came away happy. read more

I'm surprised at how low the ratings are for this service. I used them for a window cleaning with a Groupon. I had no issues with scheduling and received a reminder call confirming the appointment (and even got a call the day of the appointment to confirm that the worker had arrived). The gentleman was timely ( I think he even arrived 10 minutes early), meticulous with the cleaning of my windows and very sweet. Highly recommended! read more

I started using Greenforce after I bought a great deal on Groupon. Even thought I only bought a deal for a 1-BR and I have a 2-BR unit, they were willing to accommodate for a relatively small extra. I was definitely positively surprised! Greenforce overall did an excellent job! a 2-person team arrived on time and brought all their cleaning supplies with them. It's worth mentioning that I where I live it's very difficult to park. They did an awesome job cleaning my large 2-BR, 2 bath unit in 2 hours. read more

I am very pleased with the job Greenforce did on my apartment. The two-person team arrived on time, cleaned for just under two hours, and made everything sparkle. The cleaning products smelled good, not chemically. I appreciate that this service is eco-friendly. I have dealt with many cleaning people in my life, and Greenforce is well above the average and, given this experience, deserves the 5 star rating. (To those of you who wanted perfection -- sadly, no cleaning team or person has ever cleaned my place perfectly, but then again, neither have I in the same amount of time!) Amazing. I ordered the Groupon and the cleaners were amazing. They cleaned things I didn't know could ever be cleaned! In two hours two cleaners spruced up one bed, one bath, kitchen and living room. Daniel with Greenforce cleaned my apartment today. He was quick, hardworking, friendly and most importantly, my apartment looks brand new. I have light rugs and a puppy that has done a lot of damage, and Daniel made my carpets literally look like they were just purchased. I have nothing but great things to say about the company, from the non-toxic chemicals used to the friendly service.
