I love how they offer a free full breakfast every morning which usually includes eggs (or omelets), sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, bacon (sometimes), all kinds of breaded options, milk, juices, a pancake maker, etc. Skip the orange juice because it doesn't taste great. They also have fresh fruit like oranges and bananas. They also have a pretty nice gym but no weights, unfortunately. You'll find a bicycle, treadmill and a elliptical. I've never used the pool but I do like the fact that they offer free cookies after 4PM, Monday through Friday. The rooms are very clean and comfortable although I took off a rating because the bed was as hard as a rock. The AC also kept the room nice and cool which I'm thankful for because it was 90 degrees when we stayed. It comes with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot and sink. All worked find and the fridge kept our food cold enough. The water pressure was fantastic which is a huge plus for me. If you're prone to noise sensitivity, ask for a room on the fourth floor. We stayed on the top floor, away from the elevator and we slept like babies during the day. I'm surprised at how quiet this hotel was. I was told I had to go up, get any used towels, bring them back down, wait in line, then I could get new towels. That's is stupid and horrible customer service. I was trying to make it easy but this is insane. You want the dirty towels then send someone up to get them. I did it once. I can't see me staying here again, then I had to put them in a bag given to me. There is a sign in the room to call down for anything you need. I didn't try but do not believe that to be true. Some minor things, the channel list is partly incorrect, the TV sometimes goes pixelated. Really the bed is okay. Breakfast is better then similar places. The employees I and my family spoke to were unhelpful and rude. Check-in was done by a good-humored, handsome redhead. When I walked into my room, I was pleasantly surprised by the size, layout, and amenities of the room. The wifi was unsecured, but that's why you should always bring your own VPN. I adventure around town, visiting friends and catching up on decades of life, coming back to my comfy room at the end of the day. I wouldn't really try the hot food at breakfast (about 7:30am), but I am looking forward to sleeping one more night on this ginormous bed. Well, newly constructed hotels will have more updated features including new breakfast items, modern online connectivity, interior designs, and bathroom toiletry items. Obviously this place has all those. Plus it's probably the cleanest hotel I've set foot in for quite sometime based on my travel experiences and hotel lodgings. They advertise all rooms as being suites, and it generally has the feel of a re-branded Baymont. There's also an indoor pool and hot tub, but none of the Griswolds went for a dip. The only criticism I have is re: housekeeping. I really think this property would benefit from having the head housekeeper inspect random rooms and institute a daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule so the rooms remain nice looking. The first room Ellen checked into was still dirty. She was just going to deal with it, being as drained as she was from dealing with the death of Pop-Pop. I, however, am not going to sleep in a dirty room. The gentleman at the desk was great, switched rooms for us and did a quick quality check himself before handing over keys. The coverlets in both rooms were stained, the drapes in both rooms were dirty/stained, and the entry way had something sticky on the tile floor. The location is great, easily accessible and plenty of food/shops in the area. Hopefully my next trip to the Golden Triangle isn't for a funeral, but regardless the reason I'll most likely stay here again.
