The last reviewer stated that Dr. Greene was the best dentist he has ever been to. Really? He did not specifically state why he feels that way, so one never knows what his criteria is for rating her so high. However, not only have I myself been to this dentist, my children have also. I will write about the pros and cons of Dr. Green's visits. They are as follows.
PROS - Dr. Greene is very likeable. Let's face it, when we like someone, we rate them high. This dentist is a friendly person, no doubt about it. Also, her hygenists are very friendly, as is her receptionist as well. Pretty much the entire staff is going to treat you well. Lastly, her office is nice and clean, which is important. I like to sit on chairs and dental seats that are clean and presentable. Dirty not allowed.
CONS - There is just one thing that keeps bothering me over and over about this office. Maybe this doesn't matter much to many people, but to me it does. . . . I feel like this dentist office is nothing but a cash machine trying to suck more and more dollars from me with each visit. I do not have dental insurance, so pay cash with every visit. I cannot tell you how many times I have went to this dental office for a procedure for me or my children and are told of something new that needs to be done. I am open to fixing anything, and am okay with paying for whatever needs to be done. But what totally irritates me is that this dentist is one of those that makes you COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN for small things that she can fix in a few minutes. The reason she does this? My guess is so that she can (and does) charge you for a new office visit fee with each and every visit. Get this example. . .
One day I took my child in for a scheduled cleaning. There was another male dentist on duty (older man from White County, I think?) who fills in shifts from time-to-time. When he examines my teenager's teeth, he notices that a small filling needs to have something done on it. The hygenist states, "I will set her another appt to have that done." The male dentist looks at hygenist and says, "Naaah, she's here already, it will only take a few minutes, so let's get it done today if its okay, no?" I look at dentist and say ABSOLUTELY! So FINALLY I get a dentist that does not send me away to come back a few days later to fix something that can be done right then and there.
Also, another problem I have with Dr. Greene is that she absolutely, hands down, cannot give you any information on things like children's overbites, teeth grinding, or jaw problems. I have two children with these problems, and everytime I went in I would try to ask her about these issues in my children's mouth and she would (in a friendly way, of course) take a deep breath and say "There's nothing that can be done that I know of." I get the same male dentist (mentioned above) on a separate visit, so I ask him the same questions. Guess what? The male dentist gives me the WHOLE LOWDOWN of these problems on children's mouths!! How can Dr. Greene know so little and the dentist who subs for her know so much more? Obviously the answer is simple. .. . . because he knows more.
Look, Dr. Greene is really nice and professional. However, her knowledge base is not as good as other dentists I have met. I am NOT young and have been to a few dentists in my lifetime, so I can tell you with certainty that dentists are no different than doctors. Some are just more knowledgeable than others. You have to sift around and find the good ones.
Dr. Greene is GOOD at best. If you need simple teeth cleanings and cavity fillings, she is pretty good. If you have real issues, I recommend a dentist more experienced that doesn't make you come back time after time for things that can be done in one visit. Sorry, but I feel that she is a cash cow trying to milk me for more and more visits. read more
