WOW! Today was my first visit and I'm a veteran referred there by VA Community Care and I don't know if they're even aware that they struck gold! I was greeted by a pleasant lady with a warm smile who had me fill out my personal information. After I sit down and completed that, boom, I was greeted again by another lady with a smile who was the Dental Assistant. She took me back and made me very comfortable while going over my medical history. The Dentist entered, pleasantly greeting me, and then asked me a few more clarifying medical questions. To me, it's easy to see when someone is passionate about what they do and she is! After that, she informed me of what work was being done today and talked about scheduling future work. If I could give this place zero stars I would. First off, I do not recommend this place due to them asking me if I worked with one of their patients. They claimed they had been trying to get a hold of her. HIPPA privacy violation if you ask me. I wouldn't want them telling other ppl I go there. Second, I'm extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the $1200 crown that I got. I did not have insurance & had to pay out of pocket. So yes it cost $1200! Since day one of having this crown put in I have had sensitivity to cold. They brought me back 3x and still the same. Finally went to a different dentist to have it looked at and it turns out the crown was done incorrectly. It has gaps on both sides where food and bacteria are getting to the root. I'm very disappointed that this dentist didn't have the courage to own up to their mistake. They obviously didn't want to tell me because they would have to eat up the cost to make it right. But I hope that I can save someone from having the same horrible experience that I had here. Run!!!! read more

Last year, my family and I moved out of state, but because of the quality of Dr. Evans' care, her concern for my anxiety, and her commitment to exceptional service from start to finish, I now drive six hours from North Carolina just to be seen and treated by Dr. Evans. I recently moved to Gainesville and went to Lanier Dental Group on Thompson Bridge Road to have a bi-annual cleaning. The cleaning was ok, but they told me I had to have a filling. They did want to do it right then, but I had other priorities and made another appointment. I went back a few weeks later. As they were numbing my mouth I overheard them saying they were removing another filling and replacing it. They never told me about this. I thought I was getting a filling, not replacing the small filling I had just received 6 months prior from a better dentist. I was not happy, but did not know what to do as my mouth was numb and I am getting married in a couple of months. I had a really bad feeling and regret letting them near my mouth. They removed the new filling and refilled the same filling. What a scam to put a client through this pain when I never needed the filling from the beginning!!!! A month and a half later I am still experiencing awful pain from that side of my mouth and have to go back to the same dentist to see what is wrong. Remember, I had not pain before the removal and replacement of the filling. I should of not allowed them to touch my mouth as they did not communicate 'everything' that was going to be done until I was numbed on the dentist chair. They took advantage of the situation. When I went back in the third time, the said my tooth they worked on was most likely fractured and they wanted to put a crown on it right then and there!!! They said there was no proof they fractured it in the process, that I could have ate something that fractured my tooth. It is too coincidental that is the same tooth. I have never fractured a tooth before and never needed a crown. Really, I am 27 years old and always take care of myself and do regular cleanings twice a year. I called my dad and he advised to leave the office. I had a bad feeling the time from the first filling and a bad feeling this time. I am so thankful I did not let them touch my mouth. 3 weeks later after being told I needed a crown immediately, the pain is now gone. I received a second opinion from another dentist in the area. I DID NOT need to get a crown and I do not have a fractured tooth. This dentist is very convincing and very willing to perform the procedure immediately. I have never in my life been to such a convincing dentist. If I would have been there another 10 minutes, I would have had a crown on my tooth and been out $1000s of dollars. I can't believe this dentist is in business today. They sure are convincing and have southern charm to convince you to have procedures done that are not necessary. I will be reporting them to my insurance company as they take advantage of their customers and perform procedures that are not necessary. If you choose to use this dentist, always get a second opinion and question why they are so adamant about performing the procedure right that minute. They want your money and do not care about you and your mouth that you have to live with. I hope this prevents others from getting themselves into a painful situation that is not needed. read more

Going to the dentist for many is never a pleasant experience, but with the help of Dr Sally Evans and her staff, their friendly demeanor and knowledgable expertise make for a much more enjoyable visit. After my lifetime dentist stopped accepting my insurance I was on the hunt for someplace new. I have had nothing but good experiences at Lanier Dental. Everyone there is very friendly, I've only had to wait an extended amount of time on one occasion, due to a family emergency of one of the dentists.
