Although we booked through Priceline-- nobody from Priceline or the hotel itself- had the courtesy to call and inform guests that their reservation was cancelled. To add insult to injury- the front desk was pretty nonchalant and said call your 3rd party booking. They offered zero help in recommending or assisting stranded travellers in a problem that was is of their own doing. Arlo Hotel a block away had AC but no rooms available. If you're going to be doing business-- be accountable to your guests. If you're going to cancel on them-- call everyone regardless of how they booked and let them know their reservation was cancelled. No one should have endured what we endured on the 4th.

The rooftop bar has great views, but one disappointment: although it advertises "Tacos and Vibes" until midnight, the kitchen closed at 9 PM the night we visited it. Damages, including all the various fees, were $1,300+ for two nights--pretty much par for the course these days in Brooklyn. A reliable choice in a good location, and we'll be back.

One note - we booked using a 3rd party and we were roof that because of that we had to pay a $250 fee, which would be refunded the following morning upon our check-out. Given we spent less than that for the room, and time at the pool was limited given we arrived around 3pm, it seemed overkill to charge such a steep fee, refundable or not. Another note- we had proof we'd booked a room with double beds and the staff at Coda said they only had us booked for a king bed, but would upgrade us complimentarily. Overall, I'd recommend booking a room if you want a lot of time at the pool, and if you do like us and book a quick staycation, book mid week directly through Coda to avoid the fee we were charged.

Overall, the majority of the staff was phenomenal from the moment I arrived. The gentleman downstairs was extremely helpful directing me where to go and which elevator to take, especially since there was also a fashion show event happening at the hotel. The host upon entering the pool area was just as great; very helpful, energetic, professional, and overall just good energy. He even personally directed me to where my friend was since she had arrived before me. Those little things make a difference and immediately made me feel welcomed. Now, this review is especially for Matt, because he truly turned what could have been a disappointing experience around. Matt was the only server, and after we placed our food and drink order from our lounge chairs, he went on break. Unfortunately, while he was gone, no one stepped in to take care of us. No one checked on us, brought out the food we had already ordered, or came over to see if we wanted additional drinks. We waited about 45 minutes with basically no service. Once Matt returned, he immediately apologized for the mix-up and for no one taking care of us while he was away. From that point on, he went above and beyond, especially after learning it was my birthday. He completely turned the experience around and made me feel special. Service like Matt's is what makes hiccups forgivable. No place or person is perfect, and things happen. What matters to me is how those situations are handled. Matt acknowledged what happened and genuinely made an effort to make it right rather than brushing it off. He was pleasant, professional, attentive, fun, and just an ultimate vibe. Between Matt and the other staff members who made me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived, the good definitely outweighed the hiccup. They go so far out of their way to assure your stay is amazing. The bellhops (I met 3) we're all fantastic, but extra shout out to Johnathan he's the best! Anytime we needed advice or options for things to do each staff member had so much to bring to the table. The rooms themselves are SPOTLESS!!! I mean so clean. Not anything that made you feel uneasy. The walls are thin because it's an old building but other then walking we couldn't physically hear anyone talking or anything. They have a gym and a sauna which was very nice too!! They have a car service that will take you within a mile to a mile and a half of the hotel, very helpful! The rooms are fairly large to with a kitchen Greenpoint, in Brooklyn is a fantastic area as well so this hotel is in a great spot! So close to the NYC water ferry and so many great spots to walk to for food and entertainment! Please don't hesitate to stay here, we want to come back ASAP!

It's almost impressive how awful this place is…read more I had a reservation from Oct. 4th - Oct. 11th in room 6. Throughout my stay I encountered a number of unpleasantries, the most disturbing of which began on the evening of Oct 10th.  The first thing I noticed upon settling in was how much I could hear commotion from neighboring rooms. Loud reverberant footsteps from the guests directly above - both with shoes and socks - were abnormally invasive. I requested earplugs but they were largely ineffective. When switched to heat, the HVAC system sounded like a dumpster falling down a flight of stairs. Towels contained hair on them, a countless amount of small fruit flies circled in the kitchen and throughout the room, and I even discovered a small cockroach crawling on the bathroom floor.  However, starting at around 5pm on Oct 10th, a loud party began in the room directly next door. Pounding music and yelling that continued to escalate with alcohol dominated all night. I had phoned the front desk at 9pm, again at 10pm, and finally at 2am. Despite the front desk employees' claims to have asked the guests to discontinue the noise, they were ignored and the situation was never properly addressed. Loud drunken screaming arguments broke out inside and spilled into the hallways and balcony. At one point a woman began crying in the hall. I have taken several video recordings to document just some of the noise. I probably could have actually gotten some sleep in my car. This is completely inexcusable and brazenly unprofessional from a business standpoint. The sort of negligence and treatment I received was baffling. These guests should have been fined and removed. Instead, the noise was allowed to continue through my checkout process at 3:30am and I got no sleep despite having a 2am wake up for a flight. Front desk staff simply threw up their hands and took a helpless position. Guests were left to fend for themselves. I heard several try and fail to get anyone to stop the noise. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this hotel. As a professional who travels frequently to NY, I think my associates, partners, and friends should be informed to steer clear. I don't see how the cost was justified in the slightest. Paying to be sleep deprived is not exactly my idea of a pleasant stay. If this "hotel" had an ounce of integrity, they'd be reviewing all guests who stayed during this mayhem and comp the evening at the very least. I've emailed the manager Peter and have not received a response. Abject failure as an establishment and a marvel they're in business.

Friday- Upon arriving at Delz Bed and Breakfast, there was A/C in one room, and no A/C in the other room (there was only a fan in the room without A/C). It was hotter in the room than it was outside in the hot summer. Additionally, we were met with a surprise in our kitchen - It was a mouse We were forced to barricade our rooms with pillows to block the mouse from coming inside. Saturday- There was a lot of food in the fridge for breakfast. However, the food was expired and had not been replenished for two years! And to our disgust, we found expired milk and other foods left all around the kitchen and fridge. And to think it couldn't get any worse, there was an unidentified stain on the kitchen counter. Gross! The bathroom had exposed windows and used toiletries (were we supposed to use those?) The floor was not clean, the bathroom mat looked moldy, and I almost had to physically and forcefully yank the door off its hinges in order to get out of the bathroom (Essentially if you were there by yourself, you could be locked in the bathroom for long periods of time... Neat, huh?). The toilet was clogged at one point, and the host was completely unresponsive to our request. The WiFi in this facility is NONEXISTENT. A password was provided to us, and it still didn't work (the WiFi dropped 5 minutes after we checked in) Also, there was no working light in the kitchen, forcing us to use our phone flashlights to find things in the kitchen. Just as we thought we were getting used to the place, I took a seat on one of the chairs. I immediately saw my legs in the air. Lo and behold, the chair was broken! In fact, 2 out of the 4 chairs found in the room were broken. What fun! Sunday- Sunday was the day in which we had to check out of this facility. There were no clear instructions for checkout, and the host was not responsive to any of our calls. We were forced to leave the keys under the mat outside the place, and the host did not respond to any of our calls until 5 hours later (she responded AFTER we checked out). All in all, this was a poor experience. PLEASE do not trust the reviews you see.

The subway is just four blocks from the location into Manhattan. We were a 20 minute drive to Coney Island. We even chose to stay an additional night. The staff was on point and very helpful. Being a self-contained B&B, there was a variety of food. We will definitely choose Delz again, the next time we come to the city.
