I am so disappointed by the selection of books we get! Even more disappointing when I have to beg my sis who lives in another state to let me share her library card! I search an ebook here, 95% of the time NOT AVAILABLE while using my sis' library card gives me access to the ebooks I want. Recommending titles is rubbish cause..come on I don't think they will EVER buy it. What a disappointment!

Not my usual branch, but both of ones closest to me are closed for renovations. A pleasant surprise, lots of space, and well organized. Quiet areas, and meeting rooms downstairs. The designated "library parking" is in back on the lower level but you can use the lot for the adjacent community center and go in the front door. Very quick free (but unencrypted) WiFi. I was amazed to see copies of Atlas Shrugged on the movie shelf in this notoriously liberal town.

There's a small parking garage underneath the library. (The garage closes when the library closes... so no dawdling!) The front desk staff was friendly and helped me get my new library card set-up. She helped to reset my account, gave me a bookmark which also noted the library hours, walked me through the different resources available, and was willing to answer any questions. You can checkout up to 75 items! The library space was new and modern. There was a community event being hosted in the meeting room when I visited. There are so many services and events that the public library offers beyond books - I dare you to check it out. As everyone's favorite aardvark once said, "Having fun isn't hard, when you've got a library card!"

I love the integration of the Spanish language in all the titles of the different areas, and that there is a dedicated space to eat and hang out where you can talk louder etc. The building gets a lot of natural light and there is plenty of parking. You can't go wrong visiting this library. Def proud to be a PG county library card holder!

To be honest, I don't exactly know how I feel about this University since it was always the one…read moreschool that I never was accepted into when applying for colleges in high school. I do come here every once in awhile to get some studying done though and just based on my experience the campus is very beautiful. I really appreciate how anyone can utilize the resources on campus including the library. I've done private tutoring on the side here and just overall most of the employees are friendly as well.

https://www.reddit.com/user/JColangelo69/draft/5c6bd5be-7ff7-11ee-8716-6a366ab7e295…read moreFIJI (frat) during their pledge process introduce kids to this concept of agenting. Agenting is where the pledges essentially become bookies and their job is to recruit other kids to place bets with them and then the agents get paid in proportion to how much the people they brought in gambled. Kids who have graduated from this frat years ago are the ones who run this and make money off of it and that is why it continues on and every pledge class gets introduced to the concept. It opens the floodgates for gambling addictions by introducing the idea to pledges in a positive way and it is portrayed as an easy way to make money instead of what it actually is which is a hook to get the new pledges into gambling so that they place bets themselves and in turn make more money for the higher ups who have graduated and are now running this program. So when Lucca pledged fiji in 2018 they introduced him to agenting and he became a booky taking bets from other people which is how this whole problem started because once Lucca was into the agency he saw gambling as an easy way to make money and started betting himself instead of just taking other people's bets. Which is why when the first incident ended all those Maryland kids sent back the money because they didn't want their money making operation to get blown up by this whole scheme going public. FIJI got kicked off of Maryland's campus in the fall of 2018 before luccas pledge class was formally initiated into the frat so all of the kids in luccas pledge class included joined this other frat sigma nu. The boys who were brothers of fiji weren't allowed to join because the frat was kicked off but lucca and his pledge class were allowed because they were not formally initiated into fiji yet and therefore not fiji brothers so they were allowed to join another organization. So it is my best assumption that this scheme is still going on except now it is going on through sigma nu since fiji got shut down. My son Lucca Colangelo was admitted to UMD in 2018 when he was just 17 years old, Lucca attended Blind Brook High School where he was a captain for a baseball team and for a football team as well ( If you google his name, you will see how many awards he got ), Lucca was an A student and a remarkable athlete. Second year at UMD we noticed changes in Lucca, I reached out to the students help center and was told that UMD was a College and not a High School where parents got involved, I noticed a lots of illegal activities going on at UMD Campus and an E-mail was sent by me and I never got a reply. This school do not keep eye on what goes on campus, do not allowed parents involvement and close their eyes to serios matter like booking on campus, save your son's life, dont send him there. Making a long story short, Lucca becoming a booking and an agent in your fraternity, he come home unannounced in many occasions with other brothers to steal from us, it took me over an year but I finally gathered all my evidences about what really went on during these pledges, I even have police report from few occasions that we traveled to MD, I have evidences of what transpired and why FIJI was shut down, Lucca never graduated, he remains on a gambling / mental facility, and we got stuck with a college loan that we cant afford due to his mental illness created by your fraternity, I am ready to go PUBLIC with it and sue this entity.

I managed to get through quite a few boxes. But I will return tomorrow. FYI: There is a shuttle that goes from NARA I and NARA II (and vice versa). I personally find familial history and records fascinating including oral history. I plan to sustained these military records perpetually. I sorrowfully wished I have driving skills enabling car ownership to make the long-haul trek to this federal archival material data files record keeper office at 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740 from New York City as I would search deeper obtaining more information. National Archives' website has painstaking digitalized and categorized military personnel records by all military branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. It is all personal to me as a next of kin seeking my beloved family member who was a U.S. Army veteran. Searches are further categorized by war periods dating back 250 years American Revolutionary War (1775-1783), War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, World War I, World War II including later wars and conflicts Korean War and Vietnam War. Oh! I am highly impressed that U.S. military personnel records dating 250 years are maintained and retained perpetually because my search is dating 83 years ago as it is not in recent years. My online search is very gruesome, daunting, extensive time consuming with high level of patience tolerance as there are many, many layered links and sub-links in a national centralized database. Links take users to more links and further complicated specified links. The records or biographical information are mostly abbreviated as "19" for birth year rather than year 1919 and does not explain rank, title, grade, grade code military jargon or military codes in everyday ordinary civilian language. The DD Form 214 Certificate of Release or "Discharge from Active Duty," is the official discharge paper and Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) which can also be obtained either online or mail. My data search encountered United States, Army Enlistment Records and Flexoline Index Database, by Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) under Department of Justice originated the Alien Registration Act of 1940 which I did successfully achieved basic biographical results from both file units. Further document requests can be obtain by submitting requests either online or U.S. mail for fees as draft registration cards and Records of the Selective Service. National Archives is a federal government official record keeper. These were service members who have names. They are significantly more than Army Serial Number. They lived and served. They have narratives. They are still loved and remembered.
