The bottom floors houses the bathrooms and once a month, they sell bargain books down there.

Like other reviewers have pointed out, the computers are popular, so opt for a laptop if you've got one. I've always had good customer service here, and I'm usually just popping in for some quick read or a DVD right after work. They also have seminars, discussions, family programs, workshops, tax forms, etc downstairs. DC library in general: I also like to go to the website and reserve DVDs in a series in order to place on hold. Just remember when you pick up your DVDs to get them "unlocked" so you can actually watch them. And you can only renew them once. Also, MLK central library has the best selection of everything, but it's definitely a more urban library, and this place just has a nice neighborhood feel. **Correction on the hours: due to budget cuts, the library is CLOSED on Sundays. The selection of books are quite limited, so I am wondering if there will ever be more added to the collection anytime soon. There are several computers you can also use with an ID, either to check your email or to play online games. I am not writing this review solely to advocate for my family but for all families. No one should…read moreever experience unprofessionalism or disrespect in any public establishment, especially one that welcomes children. This has been an ongoing issue with the woman at the front desk (I was informed her name is Ms. Little). She has repeatedly displayed extremely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. Today, I was once again met with her rudeness. Just last week, when I visited with my son, she behaved the same way, and months before that, it was no different. Additionally, she never smiles. This person should not be the face of the Woodridge Library nor work in any customer service position. I received emails stating that the books I had placed on hold for my family were ready for pick-up. During my lunch hour, I made a quick trip to the library to retrieve them. While on the phone with a friend, I even remarked, "I hope that lady isn't there today; she can be so rude." Unfortunately, she was. When I approached the desk, I mentioned that I had received an email notifying me the books were ready. Ms. Little responded, "I don't know why they would've sent you an email like that, because it wouldn't have said that," before proceeding to check the system. I told her I would pull up the email and, as I started to read aloud the subject line, "Hold Ready for Pick Up," she cut me off, saying, "Yeah, I told you I was checking the system. If it's on hold, you can go pick it up over there." I thanked her and asked, "If it isn't on hold, what does that mean?" She became irritated and said, "I don't know what to tell you." I then asked why she initially said the email wouldn't have said that, and pointed out that she had acted the same way the previous week when I was with my son. Once again, she interrupted and was completely unreceptive to the conversation. While that's one thing, as a professional, she should handle herself better. After she finished speaking, I calmly expressed how uncomfortable her behavior made me feel. She responded dismissively, "Well, I don't know what you want me to say." I was disheartened because I intentionally bring my family to this library as it is convenient for us. After grabbing the books, I approached another staff member seated near the children's area and shared my concerns. Weeks ago I needed some help in getting a book to load onto my Kindle. I had waited for many…read moremonths for the loan to materialize. Although I had gone through this process many times before, it just would not load for me. I went into the library and was lucky enough to get Ms. Williams, who worked with me for a good while. She tried everything that was possible, it seemed. We were unsuccessful, but I really appreciated her efforts. All of the time that I had tried, the days were ticking away on the loan after the long wait for my name to come up. Anyway, I finally was able to get it on the Ipad. From the outside, the building looks a bit dated... but that's the vibe of the entire community, haha. The inside is nice! It has everything you'd want -- meeting rooms, silence that you could hear a pen drop, COVID-19 take-home test kits, chairs for reading, and of course books on books on books! I haven't checked one out yet (I have my own backlog as is), but they have quite the selection! It's convenient only being 5 minutes from my house. Since I had time to spare, I thought I would update my library account and look for a book. Dude at the front desk was nice. He updating my account easily so that was quick and cool. I walked around, kicking myself that I didn't bring my phone charger and lo! There was free charging station! Clutch!!!! Two Stars! Next, I thought I would look for the book I needed. An Eric Foner book. Not the most popular read but, lo and behold 'twas on the shelf!!!! Kill!! Three stars. So I continued to kill time reading about Historic Greenbelt, there was a display for that. I went to one of the self-checkout machines, I saw two, checked my book out and went to find the restroom. Four Stars with the self-checkout. On my way to the restroom I saw this box for donating eye glasses. I loved that for obvious reasons so add another star to my review and that's 5 but, with the men's restroom out of order on election day 2018, I deducted a star. So, I had a good time at the Greenbelt Library. I got more done than I needed and more than I expected. Good stuff, good stuff.

They went hard on the nautical theme inside. literally, I think this building is sea-worthy. I'd love to see more self-guided activities to do for the kiddies. Take the space devoted to the sort of odd fake dock and put something there for littles to explore that's a bit more interesting. For parents of young kids, libraries can be a lifeline for just getting out of the house.

The used book store is gone, replaced by a conference room. All new furniture, express checkout terminals, and that new library smell. About the only thing that didn't change is the men's room. - same old wussy blow dryer.
