I had been using ADP for a few years to do my payroll, and ADP is a good service, but they charged me for every little thing, I went to Green60.com payroll. They only charge me a flat fee of $19.99, and only when I actually use the service. As a small business I don't always do payroll 2 times a month, but even if I didn't use ADP at all they still charged me a monthly fee. Also, I really like the service I get from Green60.com, every time I call I get a live person to help me. Not even sure where to begin, besides that I know for certain these positive reviews are manufactured, which makes sense given the extremely shady business practices of Green60. They give payoffs to other shady financial people to recommend their services. I don't even know how they can call themselves a business. I tried to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they were not listed. The staff is incompetent and if you decide to work with them, you will run the risk of being financially ruined. The head guy will be nice to you in the beginning and assure you that you will be in good hands, but you will likely never hear from him again after the first meeting as he is always "unavailable". Good luck getting any kind of response from anyone who works there. I cannot stress enough how dangerous this company is. And on top of all the damage that they have done to my finances due to their incompetence, clients recently received a notice that "account invoices had been intercepted" and so now there is a scam occurring with Green60's clients' personal financial information. I have attached a photo of this notice as evidence. They are truly unbelievable. Please beware, be smart, and don't give this company your business. They have caused me so much trouble and burden that I will likely be dealing with their mistakes and negligence for years to come. I would give them 0 if I could. The worst terrible payroll service. We've had our banks count garnished, tax lien and tax letter and these issues were all from their improper tax filing forms. The whole reason we paid a payroll company like Green 60 is to make sure they're filing everything correctly. Wow, how is this place still in business? Where do I start? We signed up with this payroll company last year. The problems started immediately. Filing dates were missed, penalties assessed. That's when I started calling Green 60 to find out what went wrong. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Mind you, we had an exceptionally easy payroll - 2 employees, 1 check a month. That was it. One would assume that a PAYROLL company could handle this, apparently not. For starters, they do not return phone calls or emails. You'll need to continuously call multiple times a day. When you ask for the owner, he is in a meeting, always. After some persistence, he'll get on the phone and assure you everything will be or has been handled. It hasn't. EVERY MONTH ie. EVERY PAYROLL, we'd receive delinquent notices and penalties from the EDD. Green 60 said they would take care of this. They did not. Next came the certified mail IRS notices, informing us that EVERY filing was done incorrectly and/or late. More fees, more penalties. Since I'm not an idiot, we cancelled our agreement with Green 60. I thought the problems were over. They weren't. Halfway into the new year, I am still receiving penalty and delinquent notices from both EDD and IRS. IRS just sent us a letter requesting a lien on our business. We called the IRS and they told us the entire year was filed incorrectly AND late. The taxes had not been paid, the penalties had not been paid. Green 60 emailed me a cryptic message saying: "hi we will let you know thank" "the taxes has been paid and we are working to see I we can wave the penalty for you thanks" Well, the IRS disagrees. My phone call today informed me that EVERY filing was indeed done incorrectly and the taxes had not been paid. I have never written a bad review like this and I don't like doing it now. If fact, it took me a whole year to finally decide it was necessary. This company has no business being a payroll company. If I can save another small business from this disaster, I feel like I've done my part. They are completely incompetent beyond belief. At this point, we are just paying all the penalties and taxes ourselves now trying to get clear with the IRS and EDD. We have since signed up with ADP who seem to be well worth the extra expense. Our first two payrolls for the new year have gone smoothly. Looking at the other great reviews for Green 60... well...I find them extremely hard to believe and they seem a little vague. But, use your own judgement. And Sohrab from Green 60, If you're going to try that "we have no record of you in our system" routine, go for it. I've got a record of every correspondence we ever had and I'm happy to supply it to refresh your memory. Good luck out there. read more

Incompetent group. My wife's and my business used this service for over one year and they made several dangerous errors. Do not use unless you want trouble with your taxes and payroll. The other reviews must be friends and neighbors of the owner, totally different experience from what they posted. The negative reviews that were posted in the past have been taken down. Must be some kind of appeal system Green60 have found in order to take them off. GREEN 60 - From a CFO - BE SCARED. BE VERY, VERY SCARED. This is my first Yelp review, and I consider it a public service announcement. If there's one thing you never, ever want to mess with, it's your payroll tax payments. In fact, this is one of the main reasons to hire a payroll service, to ensure correct calculations and timely payments of payroll taxes. I've used many payroll services, and one thing they always do is pull the funds for payroll taxes from your bank account just as soon as the payroll is processed. With Green60, I always noted a delay between when payroll was disbursed to the employees and the payroll taxes paid. This struck me as extremely unusual. So imagine our delight when we received a delinquency notification from EDD for late payment of payroll taxes. How was this possible? We had plenty of funds in our bank, so what happened? Green60 filed late, that's what happened. So we contacted them to inquire about the problem, and after being ignored on several occasions, we were finally told that they would take care of it. They didn't, and the notifications kept coming. So we inquired again, as to the status of the correction. Again, no response. A few nasty and threatening emails to them, and they responded that they would file an appeal to try to get the penalties and interest waived. What? This is what they had promised months ago, and still nothing done? We got smart and bailed out of Green60. Why sit on a ticking time bomb, right? We also filed our own appeal to EDD, advising that we unknowingly had been victims of negligent payroll processing by Green60. Guess what? Appeal denied. Thank you, Green60, for wasting our company's cash resources with your negligence, not to mention the many hours spent with my upper level accountant mopping up your mess. We originally went with Green60 based on the recommendations of a friend that used them in her business. At first they were quite good, and I thought I'd made a smart choice, but the danger signs were there and I should have paid more attention. The pricing was seductive, but, ultimately, it was clearly, not worth it. After we fixed this situation, I called my friend to give her the same advice I am now giving you, and guess what - SAME THING happened to her, and she's been fighting with Green60 for months with no resolution, just more hollow promises. I'm going to end this with a recommendation that you do what we did. Go with Gusto, or a similar, well established, larger payroll company. We pay a trifle more, but it's soooooo worth it. In my opinion, Green60 is a sinking ship. Get off before you get drug down with them. read more

I cannot comprehend how Green60 is still in business. The way I see it, you hire a payroll company for 2 reasons: First, to outsource the tedious but relatively simple job of generating paychecks. Second, and far more importantly, to limit your compliance risk exposure. While Green60 was generally capable of issuing paychecks, they completely dropped the ball on the compliance side, resulting in significant penalties and a massive drain on valuable employee time to resolve problems. If you go with these guys, be prepared for trouble. And here's the worst part. You won't know you've been screwed until you get a notice from the IRS or EDD that your taxes were filed late, which can take weeks or months. You won't know how it happened because the person at Green60 originally assigned to your account has already turned over 3 times. Good luck trying to get anyone to care or actually follow through. In our case, it took months of calls and emails, finally escalating to the owner of the company, who seems to have appallingly little regard for customer satisfaction. Our issue is still unresolved and EDD is refusing to waive the penalties. Seriously, Green60 is a little shop of horrors! If you still can't resist the opportunity to save a few bucks by signing up with these clowns, just know that any savings you achieve will be wiped out tenfold or more by the penalties and time it will cost you to clean up after them. On the bright side, you will become a payroll tax expert in the process .. just what you always wanted! I've been a controller-level accountant for more than 20 years, working primarily with small companies and startups. You have plenty of payroll options, aside from the industry giants. We have switched our payroll processing to Gusto with great results. It is simple enough that a non-accountant can manage payroll with confidence, and the customer support is outstanding. read more
