I had trouble with my taxes for about a decade. I'm fairly intelligent, but have zero interest and knowledge in economics. I had someone do several years of my taxes and that person messed them up royally. I really didn't know exactly what to do and whom to trust, and it accumulated for several years. Someone I trust told me to talk to Greg Tolleson. I called him and met with him several days later (with several boxes of paperwork). He sat down with me and went through 2011 through 2018 paperwork for hours. He worked with my broker (Navy Federal) and got all the paperwork he needed and, in about two months had eight years worth of federal and state tax returns for me to sign. I paid some money to federal (I actually want to pay what I owe) and got some whopping returns from the State of California. My bill for all this work, research, and review by his partner was cut nearly in half (about a fifth of what I was expecting to pay). I gave him my 2019 info and he had my return ready in less than a week, with everything in black and white and understandable for a Land Surveyor and retired Marine like me. Fixing my income tax debacle for 8 years as though it was all in a day's work, when other so-called professionals had predicted dire penalties, was a lifting of a real burden. He has also continued to keep up with any tax correspondence with the federal government and the state (I have not been billed for any of this).
I would recommend Greg and the other professionals at BTSW to any wage earner, either in trouble like an idiot like me or a non-idiot just wanting what they are owed in our confusing tax system.
