You could not pay me enough to go to this pool again! I've been a member at Wisehaven Pool for 5 years and never ever had a problem or felt so belittled. Walking into this pool, the manager and older female were NOT friendly and lacked tact. This surprised me as I was a guest and just spent $55 to get in. I had 3 teenage girls with me and my son. First, the manager sort of yelled at the girls to spit their gum out as if they had already done something wrong. As a first time guest, it would've been appropriate to explain that they don't allow gum and kindly ask them to spit out their gum. Funny enough, they allow alcohol but not gum. Next, the manager warned us that we better look at the rules. He threatened that they'd be watching with their cameras and that we'd get kicked out if we don't obey al rules. As a sales manager myself, I could not believe the way I was treated upon my entrance into the pool. I felt like a child who was being reprimanded for no reason! I should've left after my first impression!
While at the pool, my friend's child, who is 8, forgot to take her goggles off while going down the slide. She was immediately pulled aside and told not to do that. No problem! Next, the same girl laid back while going down the slide. The lifeguard immediately told her that he needed to talk to her parents. The lifeguard told my friend that her daughter is absolutely not allowed to lay back on the slide. He told us that this child is a rule breaker and he doesn't want to have to kick her out of the pool. Even though we made sure she understood what she did wrong, he demanded we take her to the "Board Rules" listed at the main office and review the rules with her. Again, I understand rules and their importance but this place lacks tact. This was rather embarrassing. They are dealing with kids. Directly beside us, 2 adults were running and as a result were made to sit on the pool deck (a few feet away from each other) as a timeout! How crazy is this?! Finally, I was asked to watch my nephew for a minute while my sis-in-law dropped off her daughter at a party taking place at the pavilion there at the pool. I sat a few feet away as my nephew went down a slide. The water was a little deep for him (water was a bit deeper near the slide). His head was always above water but you could tell he wasn't comfortable and was trying to tiptoe his way to shallower water. I immediately made my way to him but a lifeguard jumped in and picked him up before I made it to him. Again, my nephew's head never went under water. The manager was called along with other staff. They spoke with my sister-in-law and myself and told us that we did not do an adequate job of watching my nephew. I was floored! I was literally feet away from him! I give the staff credit for being so diligent in watching kids and implementing the rules but I have never felt so humiliated, upset, and belittled in front of hundreds of people. Just minutes later, I was at the lap pool and overheard staff talking about the "save" they made.
If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable pool experience, this is not the place. They are Nazis. Again, I don't mind being told to follow rules but they took things to a whole new level. Treat people with respect.. Especially your customers. I was with a party of 30 people and NOT one person will return to that pool. It was a horrific experience!! read more
