09/24/2025 free soda in the shooting range
    Gina C.

I stopped in here on 09/24/2025 in the afternoon because the gun store I've gone to before had their gun range closed due to maintenance and my house was recently broken into & I wanted to purchase a gun for home protection and do some shooting. It was busy when I walked in & I was unsure of who to go see when I arrived. I had asked a guy who was hanging around (later I found out he is an instructor) if there was a line and a guy behind the counter had asked "how can I help you?" Come to find out I was talking to the owner, retired police officer Jerry. I told him about my house recently being broken into & robbed. I told him what kind of experience I've had with guns & shooting. He asked me what was my purpose of owning a gun was & I informed him that it was just for home protection & to go out shooting for practice as needed. Of course being a retired police officer & a gun shop owner he was very knowledgeable/informative about the guns they carry. He had showed me a few, allowed me to hold them and try them out (of course not loaded). We spent a lot of time going over the guns & talking. I then informed him that I needed to shoot a few different types of guns to find one that I was comfortable with & felt confident using. After I departed from him I walked thru to the gun range. This place was busy & only had 4 guys working but one had to get to lunch so that left 3 guys. They have one behind the windows of the range to keep an eye on people who are shooting & available to go in and help out if needed. One guy to answer the phone/run the counter and then one to go inside the range with you if needed. I dealt with Jon who was handling the busyness quite well. Once it was my turn I told him what I wanted to do, what guns I've shot in the past and we discussed which ones I would shot that day. I went with a 9mm and a 380. I believe I've shot a 380 before & knew I've shot a 9mm. One option was to rent a gun & get 50 bullets with it, not sure of the cost but he did tell me if I didn't use all the bullets I could take them home with me but I wouldn't be allowed to bring them back to use in the future so I decided that wasn't the best option for me as I wanted to try out more than one gun. I ended up doing the "try before you buy deal" ($25) which includes one gun with 5 bullets, each additional gun was another $25. I found this a little expensive & would have thought if you added another gun that the pricing would be a little less but I was there to shoot guns so I went with that deal. You have to give them your ID & fill out some paperwork. They have goggles & ear protection to use. I had flip flops on when I arrived in the store & knew that I couldn't wear these while shooting & changed into sneakers. They also have a nice little waiting area with a couch & then some high top tables where the counter was. They have a soda machine for free drinks, just ask for a cup and single male & female bathrooms. Jon took me back into the range and gave me some reminders on how to hold the gun. I went with the 380 first. I had originally liked the gun as its smaller & fits in my hands nicer but it definitely had a bigger kick than the 9mm. I was liking the 9mm better. Jon stayed right by my side and was there to answer questions and to help me out as needed. It is loud in there and I did get a little jumpy to the sound of other gun's going off...not the best thing to have happened when ya have a gun in your hands. I had 10 bullets to shoot & hit my target 9/10 times which was AWESOME, considering it's been a few years since I've shot a gun. (see photo) We went back to the counter and I had told Jon I wanted to shoot a 9mm some more but there is a process once your out of the range & back at the counter. There were people who were waiting to use the range. One young kid was there wanting to shoot a machine gun. A guy over 18 came in with a 17yr old & the rule is the adult had to stay with him @ all times while he was shooting the gun. You can bring your own gun and ammo in but they will check your gun out before you can go & shoot it. Jon told me I would have to wait before going back in to shoot some more but it was almost 3pm and I wanted to get to Best Buy to buy a home security system and I had a friend coming over to my house so my time was limited & I didn't want to rush in BB. I told Jon I was going to leave and come back another time. If your planning on going to the range and don't have an appointment or do be aware that you may have to wait to get into the range, so be patient and leave yourself plenty of time if you have somewhere to be afterwards because you may have to wait. I believe you can make an appointment but only 2-3 days in advance (can't remember what Jon told someone who had called to do that?) Jerry & Jon made me feel welcomed. They were very patient and educational with the different types of guns. I definitely will be back to shoot some more. I highly recommend this place!!

I've been here a handful of times now, and I have to say the staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. The public range is a little smaller side, so you may need to wait for a lane to open. I personally like coming here because I am able to leave, go get something to eat, come back, and still be able to use the range since I already paid. They also offer one free handgun cleaning per lane, which is imo convenient. I recently purchased a Springfield Hellcat Micro from here at a great price. Another reason I like this place is they offer you a free range day with the purchase of a new handgun with plenty of accessories available and ammo in stock. Now I did mention that the public range is on the smaller side, but they do also offer a membership signup which gives you access to a bigger range at the same location. Over all I've been happy with my new local gun store

Love it here because the employees are actually nice & professional! The blonde hair girl is always patient and nice and the Cuban CCW instructor is great! Fitting sitting here teachers and gives pointers that actually make a big difference! Definitely quality range worth checking them out! Have bought guns, used their shooting range, got CCW permit v plus renewal and gone to buy in between and they have never given me a bad experience ! Very nice job everyone ! Keep up the good work !

Wonderful place. Welcomed me and my family with lots of patience and hospitality. Very beginner friendly and affordable - allowed us to bring our own firearms and took their time explaining safety and gun range practice to us thoroughly. Keith was exceptionally acknowledgeable and professional, as well as, Mark, Conner, and John. Highly recommend Green Valley Range.

I would give more stars if I could! Professional Clean Accommodating Up to date tech Great facility Customer service- Top Notch for sure Look I have been here several times on both the public and private "club" side and it is always the same! Staff is super helpful and patient. They are also on top of things to ensure your safety! The store is great, well stocked and prices are competitive! If you are an avid shooter check into the "club membership" it's a great value! I want to give a shout out to Ashley who patiently helped me with a recent online purchase! This shop is also an FFL so you can have orders shipped here. However you may be able to find what you are looking for in the shop which has a great selection!

Qualified for CCW here. Great experience would highly recommend.

For just $20 you get: * Two or three shooting stages (you can run each one multiple times if time allows--I usually try to shoot at least two runs each) * A pizza lunch or dinner * A raffle ticket Today I completely botched my timing and rolled in 15 minutes after registration had closed. As I was walking back to my car, the lady working the counter chased me down and said if I was ready to shoot, they'd still let me jump in before they wrapped up. I quickly paid my $20, grabbed my "communist defender," and headed to the range. Both stages today ran just over 30 rounds and featured a good mix of paper and steel. One stage had you engaging a USPSA A/C zone target at 50-70 yards, along with some closer paper, while the other involved an array of 8 steel targets shot from four different positions at 30-40 yards.

As a co‑owner of a firearms‑related business, we use this range often and recommend it to our customers because it offers a relaxed, open outdoor environment compared to indoor ranges, which can be more restrictive and harder to get into. The covered shooting areas are clean, organized, and set up with chairs, and the entire outdoor space is well maintained. The whole activity was 4 hours including the shuttle service --which was great! Shout out to Wesley for making the ride enjoyable and educational about Vegas! Shot a few full auto rifles (G36 & Scar-L), Deagle, DMR, and Archangel. The range has some exploding targets, which also made it a blast--literally! All the gun safety trainers were really great and patient, which made it much more approachable. My partner and I are still watching videos of the day after getting back from Vegas! The members of the club are sponsoring the fee for anyone to take the Stop the Bleed course during this month, so it was completely free for me to take the course today. The classroom was easy to get to via Google Maps and then following the signage to the range. There's no running water out there but there are portable toilets and wash station. The classroom is in an air conditioned building which was nice. Despite the class size of only 4 people today, we had 2 instructors, both emergency medical personnel with military and law enforcement medical experience. During the four hour class we got to practice using various types of tourniquets on ourselves and each other in case we are injured and need to self rescue. We even tested the tourniquet on an instructor wearing a spurting arm cuff so that we could test how good our skills were. In addition to tourniquet techniques, we learnt how to pack and stabilize wounds. For example, if a knife is left in place, to prevent it from moving around and cutting more parts internally, you have to stabilize the knife rather than taking it out. We also practiced on a spurting leg model that was made off of a scan of a real rifle shot victim's leg. You could feel where the bone had been hit and scooped out. We used coagulating gauze to help stop the bleed. Overall the class was fantastic and while I definitely will need to practice, I feel more confident in my ability to help others in distress right now than I did this morning prior to class. I definitely appreciate that the club cares enough about the community that they're willing to pay for anyone to take the course this month. Visited: May 2026

The man inside the nice air condition trailer was very friendly. You have to give him your ID & sign a form. Process was quick then we followed our friend out to our own little private shooting area. This area is for members only as there is a gate & you have to get out of your vehicle to swipe to get it to open. We grabbed area 10 that had a picnic table (they all do in this area) to sit @ and he went to the trailer to grab the targets & set us up. We got a nice, long, thorough lesson on how to properly hold a gun, the rules of handling a gun, he even had a fake plastic one for us to practice holding along with some other "gun" stuff. There is a small table you can lay your magazines, guns & amino on but it was a little rocky. Anyways my review is about Boulder Rifle & Pistol not my great new friend.......lol This place is super nice, very clean with a great set up. Even the port-a-potties are clean & don't stink!! There is no hand washing station so I would bring some hand sanitizer/hand wipes. Each station has a trashcan to dispose of your trash. You must pick up your bullet casings after you're done shooting & put them in the orange bucket next to the rake. The area we were @ someone didn't pick up their bullet shells naughty peeps! An employee did stop by to check on the trash can. I was amazed @ how nice & clean this range is. I've never shot guns outside just in inside ranges. My friend said it is set up in a way that others shouldn't end up getting shot. You're not allowed to shoot up in the air as that's a safety issue. This place is huge that's all I'm gonna say with different areas to shot in. Very well kept. I'm glad my friend gave us detailed directions on how to get into this place as it can be confusing and a little ways in from the main street. Once your inside you have to oblige to the 10mph speed limit or you can be asked to leave. I got to shoot my friend's Daniel Defense SBR with an 11.5" barrel (see photos & video) which was super cool & to think a few yrs ago I was scared of guns. I found that I really liked his Glock 19, Gen 5, MOS. He had custom triggers on all of his guns we tried out. Friendly suggestions: bring sunscreen to protect your skin. It can get hot out here & some spots do have a nice breeze but dress accordingly. Bring lots of water to drink, even electrolyte ones would be good to have. Bring some snacks just in case you may get hungry. I brought a cooler that I kept some bottle water in with a sandwich I made. I had a change of clothes in the car since I wore long sleeve shirt, jeans & sneakers. I threw on flip flops, shorts & a t-shirt on my way out. It's always a good idea to have a foldable chair in your car to have as an extra seat, even an umbrella to give you shade. I saw a bunch of those pull wagons for the competing guys that they used to lug their stuff around. Remember & know the gun rules (see my photos). Be safe & have fun!!
