I found this remark rude, unprofessional, and unnecessary. As a customer, I should be able to ask about pricing or discounts on damaged merchandise without feeling mocked or embarrassed. I understand that employees may not have the authority to offer discounts, and I would have completely accepted a polite explanation. However, the way the situation was handled made me feel disrespected. Customer service should involve treating customers with courtesy, even when the answer is no. I asked him to double check, and then a third time, because the drive out was long and I did not want to waste the trip. He confirmed multiple times that they had the bat. I drove out on Saturday, August 29, and it was the wrong bat. If a customer takes the time to call ahead and confirm inventory before a long drive, that confirmation should mean something. Please make sure staff actually know what is in stock before telling someone yes. It cost me a wasted afternoon that a five minute check could have prevented.
