Breathtaking mountain views…read more My family rented two vacation houses at the Wilburton for our large extended family of 25 -- I knew very little about the property before we arrived, so we were taken aback by the sprawling turn-of-the-century mansion and spectacular mountain views as we drove up the driveway. We absolutely never expected the art installations across the grounds -- including 18 x 26-foot Egyptian statues! The art and decor were eclectic and unexpected, and I found them very intriguing. It's definitely not your traditional resort, but that's what we liked about it. And the statues made for an amazing night with smores by the fire pit! The Reunion House was spacious -- we particularly enjoyed the living room, as it gave us enough room to comfortably host the other half of our family (about 25 of us) for a casual birthday party. There was plenty of seating with cozy leather sectionals and two large dining tables that seated about 8-10 people each. My daughter loved playing the piano in the living room, and the rooms downstairs with the daybeds were a great place for the kids to hang out and watch TV together. (The galley kitchen is a little small, but we were aware of this ahead of time because it was mentioned on their website.) We were there during a massive heat wave and all the air conditioners worked very well and kept us cool. Our kids loved the volley ball/badminton area steps away from our house. The outdoor pool is beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to gather there easily with our whole family. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed looking around the mansion as well. There was so much do to in nearby Manchester -- great restaurants and shops, the bookstore is fantastic. We also enjoyed the ropes course and alpine slide at Bromley Mountain. We can't wait to return next year -- we'll be staying at one of the other properties even closer to my extended family's rental house and I'm so excited for its private balconies, jacuzzi tubs, and even more beautiful mountain views!

The grounds are beautiful, serving as an outdoor sculpture garden, perfect for strolling or meditation. The inn is located away from the bustle of Manchester Center, but only a few minutes away from Main Street and the state roads to reach nearby towns. The main house was rented out for the weekend, so we were unable to go inside, but Melissa graciously offered to give us a quick tour when we checked out (contactless, as was the check-in), so we had the opportunity to meet Melissa, as well as the "doggie concierge" Jetson, and sampled some muffins baked on the premises. Top-notch service and hospitality, would love to return in the warmer seasons!

They accommodated my dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease) which I truly did appreciate. Breakfast was delicious and eggs made with fresh herbs from the garden and berries! It was pretty much exactly what I would have imagined a BnB to be in a northeast ski town. The hospitality was second to none - warm smiles and helpful local hints, great big breakfast with toast, fruit, with eggs, bacon, and sausage all from local farms. The cat was even friendly, who curled up with me as I worked to catch up on some business in one of the many open gathering spaces late at night. If you ask nicey, David might show you his ski collection or even take you out for a personal tour of the mountain (although he did say he rarely gives lessons anymore, but something tells me he's still game). It was like calling a family member to let them know when you were coming to visit. Once we arrived, the property was absolutely stunning. The view of the mountains, the landscaping of the grounds and the outdoor amenities made this place a hidden gem. The innkeepers provided us with supplies to make a fire outside in the well appointed fire pit. It was surrounded by Adirondack chairs, tree stump seats and a large and well constructed pit with plenty of firewood. Both Bob and Cindy (the innkeepers) came out to the fireplace that first night and asked I they could join me. They offered me a local craft beer favorite of theirs and we shot the bull for a good while. GREAT folks and you can tell they bust their behinds going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The room was immaculate. It smelled freshly cleaned when we entered, it looked incredibly clean and was well stocked with teas and coffees as well as what appeared to be local hand soaps. If I could give these folks 10 stars I would! I will be a repeat customer for the foreseeable future visits just to have this hospitality and quaint accommodations again!

Definitely not because if you find yourself in the sweet little town of Granville, NY, you're in for a treat: Mickey and Wayne have put their heart and soul into renovating the old Granville train station into a stunning bed and breakfast, the Station House B&B. When we arrived late in the evening to check in, Mickey was there to greet us and make us feel at home. And her kindness and grace poured over into every detail: from the historic photos, to the antique tables and chairs, to the timely holiday decorations, to the abundance of mugs and tea, which were always available. For which I say thank you! Because we were traveling in a party of 8, we occupied 4 of the 5 rooms, which was fantastic because that afforded us the opportunity to glimpse each cozy space. Three of the rooms have their own bathroom, but two have a shared bathroom. For us, it was no problem since we were all family. This one minor detail is something to consider when selecting your room. Each space is unique, from the name to the decor. Every detail is thoughtfully selected and creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're coming home each night. Although the walls were a bit thin in our room, the Ticket Office, James F and I slept like rocks, we were so comfy! But it doesn't end there. Gotta get to the breakfast part, of course! Coffee was always ready at 7AM and breakfast at 8AM each morning. Well, oftentimes breakfast was waiting for us well past 8AM because some of our group are late risers. And my god, the breakfast spread presented each morning was fantastic: tea, coffee, orange juice, pancakes, french toast, bacon, ham, pastries, yogurt, pudding, it goes on! They were great to chat with and just good down to earth people. We stated in the Freight Office. What a lovely spacious room and the bathroom was massive. Our beds were comfortable and the room temp was perfect. Ok, let's talk about the breakfast! WOW! It was more impressive than most 4-5 star hotels I've stayed at. There was a wide variety of food and everything was made to perfection. I honestly felt like when I used to go to my grandmas house...lots and lots of home cooked goodness! The bed was pleasurably comfortable. Breakfast was cooked by Oz and was tasty and well presented. The location is surrounded by excellent restaurants, just minutes from Wilmington which also has many restaurants and shops. If you were an artist looking for a beautiful Vermont country inn to paint, this would be an excellent choice. And, it was quite affordable, especially in light of its well-deserved stellar reviews.
