Based upon my advanced research before a recent trip to Vermont, I knew I wanted to try a Maple Creemee. I saw that the Green Mountain Sugar House had them and I planned accordingly. The store is very nice, cool selection of food items and other gift shop/souvenir choices. The staff was pleasant. When we first arrived, I noticed that there's a gorgeous view of a lake from an outdoor seating area. We took our Maple Creemees outside and enjoyed them in a perfect spot. The Maple Creemee itself was excellent. Texturally and looks wise, it resembles vanilla soft serve. From a flavor standpoint, it delivers the perfect amount of maple. It was a rough ride getting to the farm. We visited the Jenne Farm before going to the farm. GPS lead us a the most remote road ever. We were in a unpaved rather muddy road and only saw one house on the road. No cell service the whole time. Aside from this, we met two very nice ladies who gave us better directions to get there from Woodstock. So you if are visiting Woodstock, definitely go visit. We had the best cremee ever! This is one of our favorite pit stops in the area, it's a great gift shop full of mostly local products; those fancy goatmilk bar soaps were also nice even though they were milled in another country. Glad to find this place on our way from VT to Western MA. The maple Cremee is the best I've had, and the portion for the small was generous. Bought some of the maple nut brittle and sprinkled it on top - perfection! Found the cheese prices to be quite good too - wished I had bought my cheese haul there instead of the Vermont Country Deli in Brattleboro which where prices were consistently more. She doesn't talk much and there's normally only 1-2 workers so the line moves slow if you show up with 10 other people. The shop is small but has a lot of Vermont made food and an assortment of souvenirs. They have delicious cheeses, sausages, maple candy, jams candy, and so many more choices. One of the surprising treats is that they sell different styles of cheeses, sorry no sampling. okay, so as if the free tour wasn't AMAZING enough. having the opportunity to see how the gourmet syrup was made, was miraculous. one can not explain the temptation to buy everything after testing all the samples, because every one had it's beutiful qualities. it really is an art. and the maple cream, literally unreal. the candy is lifechanging. and the syrup is heaven itself. i have never tasted better syrup. and the service was great. and being in the vermont atmosphere was the cherry on top. 10/10 reccomend read more

Wow, best soft serve cone I've ever had! The woman working the register said it's made with their maple syrup. We also enjoyed the maple fudge and candies. This place could definitely charge more, but is very reasonably priced and not a tourist trap. The only drawbacks are the outdoor bathroom and the traffic getting back to Main St around 4pm when Okemo closes, so try and go before or after if you're headed back in that direction. My family's only bad experience on our Vermont vacation. We had been looking forward to visiting a maple sugar house all week during our stay in Ludlow. I am a father of a family of eight maple lovers. While the shop is quaint and the surroundings beautiful, we were "greeted" by the woman in the shop with rudeness and unfriendliness. One son, age 20, was scolded for trying a flashlight to make sure it worked before purchasing, another was yelled at for smelling candles he was trying to chose between for purchase. My kids are respectful and not disruptive, but we are a mixed race family, and I hope that was not a factor, but we did not see anyone else in the store targeted and were made to feel like we should leave, which is what we did, without making a purchase. By contrast, we had a lovely visit to the Vermont County Store a few days back. read more

Recently bought a home in Weston and took our four kids here (ages 2-8) while driving to visit friends in Plymouth. Although no one was in the store, the older woman working the counter that evening seemed annoyed from the start that we were even there. We spent over $200 in 15 minutes on candy, Knick knacks, magnets, syrup, and creemees. The 2 year old ate a candy before check out, and left the wrapper in the bag.
