Gift boxes, maple sugar candy, bags of jelly beans and gummies, a wall of candies you can pick and bag up yourself sold by weight and a long counter of chocolate confections sold by the pound. The prices are steep and although we intended to pick up a few things I just couldn't justify the cost in my head. We've definitely been to chocolate shops before and purchased both their gift boxed items and confections by the pound but I just couldn't convince myself to splurge this time. In any event, they have a large selection. I didn't see the list of ice cream flavors they had on offer but that area was manned and there are some tables in there to enjoy on site. Parking is on street about a block away that you pre-pay for at the kiosk and leave the receipt on your dash board. The entrance is up a few steps. read more

I've been here a few times, only getting their amazing almond butter crunch. This time I put together a small box of assorted chocolate. Honestly I wish I had just stuck with the butter crunch, the others just weren't as amazing. The raspberry gel had absolutely no flavor so stay away from that one for sure! The caramel one and the chocolate covered pretzel were stale, I was disappointed! The one with hazelnut was good and the chocolate covered almond clusters were good but from now on, im going to get butter crunch and call it a day. read more

Definitely one of the best candy shops I've been to. This place has all types of candies, chocolates, drinks, and ice cream to choose from. It's a sweet tooth's dream house. It opened on 1930. Homemade candies and chocolates are prepared fresh everyday, in an old building. The have good quality old fashioned candies, that is being passed down generation after generation. There were tables in the front to enjoy your sweets. The employees were friendly. We enjoyed seeing all types of sweets to choose from. I had the chocolate covered twinkie which was so good. We bought various candies and chocolates, my toddler of course was in heaven. Overall, a great spot to stop if you have a hankering sweet tooth. read more

I have only been here twice and both times were not a good experience. The first time I waited 40 minutes for 2 Frappes. The second time the person behind the counter was rude when I ordered a simple Chocolate Scooby Doo ice cream in a dish. There was no indication for how many scoops came in each size and he nastily slammed his fingers on the counter as he told me how many scoops there were in the Kiddie versus the next size. It took 10 days for our 2 apples to be delivered. I emailed customer service and they were less than helpful. The apples are huge a little sweet for our taste. A good Carmel apple but not great. Candy stores spelled "shoppe" instead of "shop" are always superior, and this was no exception. They have pretty much everything you could ever want: handmade chocolates and fudge at the counter, self-serve by weight bags of candy, and prepackaged. Most of it seems to be made in-house, and I love supporting local business. They also had a lot of Valentine's options out, since we visited the weekend before Valentine's Day. The were giving out samples of the almond butter crunch. So effective because it's not something I would've picked out, but it was AMAZING and I ended up buying some. The Concord GSCS appears bigger than the Manchester counterpart and has alot more chocolate calling your name. Learning from my previous visit, I stayed away from that side of the shop, so I can resist my addiction to cherry chocolate. Instead I opted for Coconut Shreds, which is one of my favorite flavors and they didn't disappoint! Also, kiddie size is a decent amount for less than $5. read more

Not what I was expecting...I saw a recommendation on things to see in Concord. With the old fashion spelling, I was assuming an old fashion candy store with the friendly old lady behind the counter. The staff was so busy chatting they barely paid attention to the customers. When I said it was my first time here and asked what ice cream flavor she recommended, I was mearly told that they all taste good. They want me to pay $30 to ship it back to them even though they were the ones that pulled a "bait and switch" with the ingredients. I could not be more disappointed in the ice cream I just got from the Granite State Candies, Concord, NH location. I got three flavors, coconut snowflake, burgundy mocha chip and coffee toffee crunch. None of them were edible, all tasted freezer burned or at least not stored at the proper temperature. When GSC started making ice cream it was really delicious. The ice cream I got today was not creamy at all, but gritty and dry, was holding it for over a half hour and it hardly melted. read more

Whenever I need high quality chocolates for that special someone (or for myself), the Granite State Candy Shoppe is my first choice to pick up boxes of assorted chocolates which are moderately priced. The chocolates here are very good and I enjoy them with my coffee. Locally made chocolates are the way to go! During the warmer months, homemade ice cream and frozen treats are also offered here. It was near closing time after my son and I had finished dinner and went to grab candy inside this store! The candy is amazing, can't say a single bad thing about that... however the girl in there didn't even say hello to us, she was too busy counting her drawer and getting ready to close. The chocolate and peanut butter mixes are my favorite - I didn't take many pics in the store cause she seemed annoyed we were in there even though I spent $80 hahaha ‍ the candy is worth the money, but when I went to the case and stood there for a bit I wasn't even acknowledged or asked if I wanted anything... so we stuck to bagged items and tried to be speedy. She rang us out, the other girl made sure the sign said closed and without a smile bagged our stuff and sent us on our way... kind of disappointing about the service.
