She not only attends to the physical needs of each individual, but to the emotional and spiritual needs of the body as well. She started the session by spending some time asking what issues I was experiencing and what I hoped to accomplish. She listened attentively and explained what she thought the best type of work would be. There was a lot of work to be done! She calmly and carefully guided me through each movement applying pressure where necessary and was diligent in asking me about any sensations I might be having. She is very intuitive about the body. Her hands are soothing and warm and she moves with confidence, but never forcing a joint or a muscle to do what it does not want to do. After the session, we sat down and talked about how I felt and she gave me recommendations on what other therapies might be needed to address some of my problems. She was very honest about what my expectations should be. Her goal is not to pack in the clients. Her goal is truly to share the gift of healing through touch. While I started the session feeling a bit tense and uneasy, I walked away feeling a little lighter and maybe even a bit more centered. I fully trust Joy as a massage therapist and will definitely be returning!

Much to my surprise and delight it was too bad and many of the aches and pains I had prior to the massage seemed to be melting away. Per Kim's recommendation, I will be scheduling another session to help cure the rest of my aches and pains! Definitely a hidden gem in Dana Point!
