She'll be there in a few minutes. Well, I called back to doublecheck, well then she tells me that she's at the store getting gas and that she would be right there to pick me up. This was coming from the dispatcher. I get a text saying that it would be 2:00 PM or 230 before a ride would come well I called them back and ask her Why would it be that long if she was still in town and getting gas and then the dispatcher said that she was already back at Roanoke Rapids that they would send another driver. Anyway, I told her that couldn't be true because she wasn't gone long and there was no way she could get back to Roanoke Rapids. Well then they tell me they'll send another driver and I was watching the map and it kept getting longer and longer for the arrival time so I was panicking and nauseous to my stomach so I called United healthcare and asked them to please send me another ride so they were on top of it and got me a ride home and I received a text that they canceled the ride from this company ,well that person ended up showing up. Oh well I got an Uber and came home and got here safely.Ive never experienced anything like this and it was scary because I was over 40 mins away from my home, but Thank God,UNHC and Uber for being so fast and right on time, I sure hope they can get things in order for the next person, but it won't be me !!!!

Gerald from Truly Grateful Transports is the absolute most amazing person I have ever done business…read morewith. I live in MD and Last minute on the day of a dear friends mothers funeral I realized I hadn't sent the memorial gift that I had wanted to send him due to my busy schedule and being under the weather! I was calling all the local florist in the area and none would deliver the day of. Also some of the so called big names wanted to charge me an arm and a leg plus they could not guarantee an on time delivery time. Last minute I thought to google couriers to see if I would have any luck. Gerald answered on the other line very bubbly and bright mind you it was before 8 am on a Saturday. Not only did he agree to assist me, he recommended a great florist, he also gave me ideas on how to package it the exact way I wanted to do it. Then he communicated to me several times make sure I was able to get everything squared away. As we only had a small window of about 2 hours get everything done before the florist closed. Then he went and picked up everything from the florist and another store. He sent photos of everything in his office and sat and baby sat the package, for a few hours, as the place to be delivered wouldn't open until 2 pm. He delivered the package before the family arrived and viola he made me look like the good friend that I am without a hitch. His prices were way more reasonable than the big wigs so of course I left a tip. His customer service and courtesy was amazing. His knowledge of the area and recommendations were spot on. He was trusting and eased all of my worries by answering all of my questions and more. As another small business owner to another I really appreciate you for being there in my time of need. Keep up the great work Gerald, you are definitely a rare breed. Best, Hollie

Go-go-go R-Line! I'm not a huge fan of buses, spent 5 years riding the Muni in San Francisco,…read morepacked like sardines but the R-Line is fantastico! Clean, free and punctual always works in my book. The service has only been running about a year or so but I'm starting to use it more frequently now that I'm in good enough shape (hah!) to waddle over to the nearest stop on Glenwood! With the new real-time tracking app, it's also become really easy to time your trips and catch a bus easily. The buses are clean and comfortable and the drivers are pretty cool too. So while Raleigh-ites may still be used to using their cars, give the R-Line a shot the next time you're out drinking downtown. Save yourself some gas and money on the R-Line. It's the right thing to do in so many ways...

I parked up near where I would end up the night (around The Borough) and then took the R Line down to the Moore Square area to enjoy the World Beer Festival at the evening session. It worked out pretty good, took the R Line back and continued my night. The handiest part is the phone app tracking the buses (there are two circulating counterclockwise in the route loop in the downtown area). You know when to expect the next bus and time your arrival at the stop with it, with a little "you are here" icon for reference. Great feature, no guessing on when the next bus can come for you. For more info on downloading the app and other info on the R Line, try here: http://www.godowntownraleigh.com/get-around/r-line to read up. The most attractive part is that it is FREE. Free ride, free wifi, free free free...free is good. Free is tremendously awesome (or awesomely tremendous, whichever). Coupled with very clean and well maintained buses that are also hybrid electric buses that help everyone be environment-friendly, it's a good deal all around. You will usually see a bus every 10-15 minutes, being that there are usually two buses going on the 20-30 minute total loop. They do run late night till 215a on Thurs-Sat, for all the bar hoppers out there, but be careful around end of running time I hear...get out there well before the hours end to make sure you hit that last loop. I do wish they had better Sunday hours though, 1p-8p is pretty limited but it's great they even do have those hours period for Sunday. Later Sunday hours would allow for more dining hours type of utilization, I'd think. Bottom line: R Line is a great and free mode of getting around DTR. Great way to see downtown as well if you get the chance. Two thumbs up!

The visitor info center and a major hotel could not explain rationale or whether expected to return. The White House and congress should take lessons in leak avoidance from Durham's leaders.

Oh, Alexa S., I'm here and I'm ready to complain about this "free" bus. I'm pretty sure my tax…read moredollars as a resident of Durham (downtown at that) and the fact my employer contributes a major portion of BCC's operating budget so employees like me can utilize it are reasons this service is paid for and can be complained about. They've been trying to improve it by simplifying to the route to eliminate how confusing and nonsensical it was and removing the transit station stop to eliminate delays. However, it is still very delayed and the service is awful. I've tried using the bus probably a dozen times to get from Duke Hospital to downtown and I often find myself waiting 30-45 minutes. One time I literally waited so long that I started walking the two miles from the hospital to my apartment. I walked along the same path the bus takes and didn't even see a bus pass me during my walk. This wouldn't have been bad if it wasn't 98 degrees in the hot summer sun and I was in work clothes. The "average" time might be 17 minutes (doubtful), but what usually happens is the buses are so poorly planned that the two buses are literally 3 stops away from each other. So often times you're waiting a long time for the bus and another one will be right behind it. This is absolutely useless, makes no sense, and a waste of having two buses. The bus stop running at 9pm on Saturdays, which doesn't suit how much downtown Durham is growing into a cool night spot. The bus drivers are also not very helpful, they're as brusque as transit operators in a city 10x the size of Durham. Once I was walking from Sam's Quik at night and trying to catch the bus, but there is a big gap in between stops around there. A bus passed by and I had to chase it all the way to the stop across from Whole Foods on Main St before they would pick me up. Thank god for red lights! I've never seen a small city bus driver so rude that they knew you were trying to get on their bus, but tried their best not to pick you up. It was also super crappy because there's no sidewalk on that area of Main St so I was literally running in the dark through the mud to catch this bus. In summary, BCC's has bad service, the buses are poorly planned and right behind each other, and expect to wait a long time for a bus. Durham, fix this situation because it is a joke. If you need an example of what works, the R-Line in Raleigh is great and much loved.
