I was not satisfied with the work done by Lauren Geiger from Bluegrass Builders and Remodel, so by the end of the project I decided not to replace several new windows with her company. After hiring another contractor to finish the job that was left unfinished in the kitchen, I called Green Gables to ask if they replaced glass window panels only (many of mine had turned foggy). Landon, the owner, one of the kindest people I ever met, told me that they did not replace just window glass, but he graciously sent me a nice reply with a list of several local providers. After receiving estimates, I decided that it was not worth it to just change the glass panels, and I would directly replace the windows entirely. I checked with two well known national companies which were simply too expensive, and then I decided to check with Green Gables, after being really impressed with the quality service shown by his owner when I communicated with him (even when it did not mean business with him at that time). Landon came to my house and gave me an estimate with excellent time management, providing all the details I needed to know. The price was in the middle, between Bluegrass Builders, which was too low (and not reliable, after the bad experience with the kitchen) and the other two very expensive national companies. I decided to go with Green Gables, and I was not disappointed at all. In fact, it was one of the best jobs I got done in my house in the past 12 years (and I've had a lot of projects done). I was not only impressed by the quality of the windows, but also the appearance; they look lovely! Landon and his crew are the nicest and most efficient and helpful people I've met in the construction field. After a few months of noticing the improvement that the four new windows made in my kitchen, I called Green Gables again to replace all eight windows on the second floor. I absolutely love them. Landon and his team did an incredible job making a very large and imposing project happen smoothly and with as little stress as possible. I cannot say enough how much I appreciated the regular, personable communication from Landon, who checked in on us even while he was out of town for another engagement. Our sales representative wasn't afraid to put on mud boots so he could get thorough, accurate measurements during our consultation, and at no time did we feel pressured to go with one option or another. We were shown all options, and when we needed to remove a few things for our own budget, there were no high-pressure tactics to try and get us to change our mind. The installation team handled almost the entire house in one day, which was amazing to us considering the status of our old windows. And when we needed a new trim for one frame that had rotted entirely, the guys went into town that day to find a matching piece and get it replaced to be as close to the original as possible. The guys were all very friendly and didn't mind our small zoo of cats and horses running around outside, and the foreman was sure to have the crew do a careful check at the end to ensure there were no nails or bits of metal for the animals to step on later. Recently purchased and had installed all new gutters for the whole house, as well as 8 window replacements (5 in the basement, including a complex hopper window for a dryer vent - and 3 in my living room). The whole process was wonderful - Landon was great to work with in terms of initial consultation, quoting, etc. - and was never pushy, only helpful. His crew that installed (he came out as well each day, to make sure I was fully satisfied and personally walk through the finished work) were courteous, mindful of our house and yard/landscaping, and honestly left our place better than they found it. They helped me move furniture around, take down and replace window fictures and paintings near the windows being replaced, and even helped re-install my dryer vent after putting in the new window that attached to the vent. Also, I had pretty bad basement leaking when it rained before I did this work with Green Gables, and after - zero basement leaking. The products and service are wonderful. I added Green Gables to my very long estimate list on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. I was feeling irritated by the sales tactics of a few ''premium'' window companies and unconvinced that for our needs (i.e., a non-historic home), the bells and whistles on their windows were worth the exorbitantly higher price. On the other hand, I didn't feel great about going with the well-known high-volume company even though my experience with the salesperson was fine, particularly because of installation concerns. When I started communicating with Landon, the Green Gables owner, he was so professional, personable, thorough about answering my questions, and straightforward about his windows and installation (by that point I was really educated about what to ask), that I definitely expected him to be more expensive than he was. His responsiveness, proactive communication, oversight during the installation process, and affordability make Green Gables a great value. Their prices were reasonable and in line with the others, but I was most impressed by the window demonstration they provided as well as offering options for bay window replacements that would save me several thousands of dollars. The windows arrived about 3-4 weeks earlier than expected. Landon and Chris provided exceptional customer service by keeping me well informed on my order as well as throughout the installation process. The installation team was prompt and efficient in their work and the metal cladding work that Cody did on the bay windows was AMAZING! Landon from Green Gables was professional from the very start. Came out to the house within a few days of me calling and measured the windows and laid out the options we had for our home. He was quick to deliver a quote to us and even had his installer come out and do a double check on all the measurements before the order was made. Once the windows came in, the installers called and got us on the schedule in a very reasonable amount of time. Installers showed up on time and were very courteous. They were able to knock out the whole house in about half a day. They even checked to see if we had any questions before and after installation. Landon came out the same day during and after the installation. He even noticed that one of the screens on the windows was a little off so he took it and got it fixed and back to us as soon as possible. I admired the new look and felt confident that my windows would look just as great. Landon uses an excellent product w/high energy efficiency and was able to select an exterior color that will never need painting as the color goes through the entire frame.
