Earlier this year, our gutters and front awning were damaged in a storm. I'm normally a DIY kind of person, but I've been suffering from a lack of mobility for the past year or so after a back injury, and found that I wasn't going to be able to get around to doing any kind of repair myself. We dreaded the cost, but bit the bullet and reached out to a few local contractors. These guys responded quick, came out quick for the initial assessment and quote, and gave us a reasonable price and timeframe for the work. A few other companies had comparable prices, several were much more expensive, but the professional communication from this team sold us. The job had to be rescheduled, at first, because of weather, and then again due to the unpredictable schedules that come with custom work, but they responded quickly to calls and e-mails, and kept us in the loop. Finally, the big day came, and during the course of setting up to work, they noticed some issues with our house's novel construction, especially with the way our roofers had not left much of an overhang with our drip edge and shingles. At first, we were worried this was going to turn into a much more expensive job, or that we'd have to start shopping around again, but were pleasantly surprised when the owner himself came out to take a look, with one of their more senior employees, who quickly identified a likely solution. Not only are they going forward with the job as soon as possible, but they're honoring their original quote despite the extra work and materials, partially to make up for the initial scheduling delays. A far better experience, so far, than being left in the dark by other companies we've worked with recently, and it's refreshing to have a company honor their own quote without sneaky fees, last-minute upselling, or bait-and-switch tactics even in the face of unforeseen complications. They supply a basic invoice and not a true breakdown. They charged an extra $85 for OSB board when it costs nothing close to that. (This was the only material breakdown cost that was given.) Their response was it was written in small print near the signed contract. Their email was smug saying they "want everyone to walk away happy." When in fact the only person walking away happy is them because they got their money. We even had to clean up after, finding rolls of nails in the yard which my husband could've seriously injured himself if he was mowing. They only care about money and not the customer. You pay for roofing materials and they'll use your yard as storage until they feel like coming back to pickup the leftover materials. Oh and yes, you pay for those materials but they take them back. If this isn't true then a complete breakdown of materials ordered and materials used with costs would be provided but it's not. Just find another roofing company. These people are not worth your time.
