Scheduled an appointment and never showed up!!…read more My wife and I bought a new house, and we wanted an electrician to come and check the outlets and get some quotes on adding outlets, etc. I called the number and set up an appointment. He said that since it was such a small visit, he would do it in the morning or afternoon. Since we had other contractors coming in the morning, we chose 3:30. 3:30 came and went, with no call from them. I called them at 4:00 to ask where they were, but it went to voicemail and I left a message. Since we had to drive up to MA, I called and left another voicemail at 4:15 saying we would need to reschedule, since it was clear he wasn't showing up. It's been a week later, and have not heard form him at all. At least give me a courtesy of calling to cancel!

I chose Echelon after researching and reading their reviews online…read more I was told that my entire furnace was shot and needed to be replaced, and I was given a quote of over $7,000. I was then told that I should consider replacing the entire HVAC system, which brought the quote to approximately $13,000. Before making such a major purchase, I decided to get two additional estimates from other HVAC companies. Both told me that the problem was only the motor and that the repair and replacement would cost less than $2,500. My advice to anyone dealing with an HVAC issue: always get more than one estimate and have the problem independently diagnosed before agreeing to a major replacement. It's worth the extra time and could save you thousands of dollars.
