We wanted some birria tacos and Mexican food and found this place on Google. We ordered at the front and sat in their seating area. We ordered the Green Cactus Combo, Birria Tacos, Burrito Fajita, and a Passionfruit Jarritos. The Birria Tacos and Burrito Fajitas both came with a side of chips. The Green Cactus Combo was good, and the portion was big. It also came with a tortilla. The steak was juicy and well-seasoned. The Burrito Fajita was flavorful and big. Our favorite item was the Birria Tacos. They were juicy and flavorful, and the cheese was a great addition. However, we do wish they served a bigger portion of the consomé. The price for our meal was pretty good. Overall, we would come back here for their Birria Tacos and to try their Horchata.

Pretty neutral Mexican place in my opinion. Free chips & salsa, filling burrito, and fast service. Additionally, it's an order ahead place rather than a restaurant. My friends and I went around 3 pm on a weekday, but we were the only party, so it was nice&quiet but a bit sad at the same time.

I paid over $16 for a salad that was very small. The best part was the shell. The chicken was dry and fatty. There was not much lettuce or black beans. The Pico de Gallo was like I was eating a whole onion. The Rockville Centre location is much better. There were more workers than patrons.

The food was really good and the prices were fair for the Stony Brook area. I had the burrito vegetarian and it was absolutely delicious. I also ordered steak fajitas (she demolished those), chicken burrito grande (she inhaled it), burrito shrimp (she liked it but gave her huge avocado slices to me, which I loved), the taco primos are basically small tacos so if you want those maybe get a bowl (my daughter wasn't so pleased about that and had to get a second one). Our dear family friend was annoyed that they ran out of ground beef and couldn't quite get her alternate order right and our other friend got a wet burrito which she enjoyed. So everyone pretty much enjoyed their food. I was surprised however that since we ate in and hardly anyone was eating in (socially distanced) that we had to order chips and pico de gallo for the table- it should have been included. Every Mexican restaurant I've been to ever provides that to the table, especially considering we placed a very large order for 8 people. That was my only complaint. The restroom is a single toilet and complimented nicely.

Customer service was standard. The food itself. Quiet poor. The signature Green cactus burrito is what I ordered. The burrito dripped throughout the whole time, and I ended up giving up two-thirds through since the burrito was covered in the sauce. The ratios were so poorly done. The first 3-4 bites I took were almost solely pico de gaio (forgive my spelling), and it was honestly disgusting just taking a bite full of tortilla and tomatoes.

This "temporary" price inflation has been the same for a year now....

Always loved Green cactus for years. Enjoy the new menu items they added - The birria tacos and sweet tamales.

Food was cold, soggy and made incorrectly. Tasted horrendously. Literally Taco Bell is way better.

Before we ate, we learned a little about the restaurant, the inspiration behind the menu, and the flavors in each dish. Fun fact: Ixchel is the Mayan Goddess, which adds even more meaning to the restaurant's name. Now, let's talk about the food! We enjoyed a tasting of several dishes, including tableside guacamole with chips and salsa, tortilla soup, handmade corn tortillas topped with different proteins, pibil (slow-roasted pork), a ceviche-style dish with shrimp and scallops, chicken mole, and sautéed shrimp with sweet potato. Every dish had its own unique flavor, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. My favorite of the night was definitely the handmade corn tortillas with the different proteins; they were so yummy! Of course, there was dessert! For dessert we had coconut flan and lemon cake, and both were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Even though our dinner was outside, I did get a look inside the restaurant, and the interior is just as beautiful as the patio. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

We were welcomed and immediately seated, choosing inside seating and started off with a pitcher of their fruited Sangrias and complimentary salsa and chips. The food never disappoints. Tried the Papas con Queso, potato skins with sausage, cheese and guacamole, which were delicious and definitely not the usual skins one gets at other restaurants. The Churrasco Argentino was outstanding. The shell steak perfectly cooked medium rare at medium topped with chimichurri served over sliced tomatoes with a side of rice and string beans. The Carne Asada skirt steak was also perfectly cooked topped with roasted corn salsa, cheese and queso fresco served with tostones, guacamole, rice and beans. The combos were varied and very good although some of our party stated the taco shells and tortillas were a little soggy but still flavorful. Overall a great restaurant serving excellent and varied Mexican dishes at reasonable prices and generally well portioned.

He forgot our guacamole, which should've remained forgotten, since it was underseasoned and unremarkable. I was a bit shocked when we got the bill. The MP was $15, for the small, bland portion. Cubano quesadilla appetizer was good and substantial. Sangria was $35 and suffered from a serious lack of alcohol. My chipotle shrimp entrée didn't look like anything special, but tasted much better than it looked. My companions softshell crab taco special was good. The woman who came to our table who (was not the server) did not understand. the question asked to her about the bill, and as a result, gave an incorrect answer. Mostly Decent food (poorly presented) some overpriced items, indifferent service. This was my first time here and I'm not sure I would return.
