Not quite sure why this place has low reviews, because the friendliness of this place won my heart instantly! It's a rough area but that doesn't mean the shop is rough, you walk into a beautiful clean wide range of products! From bows, to fishing to, safes and ammo, they have it! Plus they are making you feel like a part of the family ! What a great experience:) read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes! Ms Candy is one of my favorite Unicorns in the world! She helped me find my hearing protection. I walked around almost the entire store looking at all the cool items, but had not seen the hearing protection area yet. I was waiting for a clearing by gun counters and that's when Ms Candy cheerfully asked if she could help me find anything. I was ready for help too, because I kept getting distracted by all the things! Ms Candy helped me try on different styles of earmuffs. And I was so excited to actually find one that I liked! I tried to match the ones that I liked at my gun range, but this one was even better. I have a wide head and that is normal for a Guamanian, but it does make a harder job to find things like eyeglasses, headbands, etc. At the range proper fitting hearing protection was a must!!! Safety first!! To make things more complicated, I have TMJ and get migraines easily. As I previously stated, Ms Candy is a hero for her patience, knowledge, and TLC! And now I never have to worry if someone had the wide set that I needed at the range and I always know that my headset is clean! So with this mission complete, I even had even more time to look around and even try out one of the guns on my wishlist. Hubby enjoyed his time here too. We got some great tools and even a new wallet for Father's Day! God bless!! read more

Manager is disrespectful, and a loose cannon. Should not be allowed to work around firearms! I brought in a brand new, never been fired gun, to have the barrel threaded. They quoted $299.99. Went to pick up the gun and it was $499.99. They stacked a washer under the thread protector and said they put on a suppressor and ran a rod thru it, appeared all good. Paid the increased price, thanked them and left. Went home, put a brand-new suppressor on it, fired one shot (first shot ever thru the gun) and it came out of the side of the can. Took to another shop to have a laser ran and the angle of the threads are off causing the can of the suppressor to not be in line with the barrel. Called next day and explained to G.A and they said they would take care of it. Brought the gun in next business day (holiday weekend), manager A.J came over and I explained it again. I asked if they could please run a few rounds thru it before i drive an hour back to pick it up so that i know its good. The manager AJ came unglued yelling and cussing saying he's not an F*ing gun smith, that he doesn't know what I expect. Then after asking him not to cuss at me, I'm told to get the F out or he will call the law. Asked for my money back for the service, refused, So now im out $500 and cant use the suppressor. Other customers even left the store due to this managers outrage. Yelling and cussing because im asking for their service to be tested before picking up. This is completely unacceptable. Someone that can flip a switch and start yelling and screaming at a customer should not be allowed to work with firearms. I will let everyone know never to trust this store. read more

Walked in needing to get fitted for a bow and they fixed me right up with everything I needed. John and Kevin couldn't have been nicer guys answering all my questions and making sure the bow fit me and shot true. Couldn't recommend them more honestly, I had a great experience here. read more

Wayy over priced went in wanting a specific gun and knew the average prices of this gun and they had it on the shelf and it was 175$ over market value i then asked what a transfer fee is because I know a gun store owner in va who would ship me one and he said 100$ now they absolutely have a wonderful selection of weapons but everything is over priced by a minimum of 50$ now if you sift through it all you might be able to find a good deal when I first moved here I thought they was gonna be my store being close to my house and all boyyy was I wrong bought a few guns from them even took my cc clas their but over all the staff is a bit rude especially that short bald fella read more

Remember the old tune from the show? Green Acres is the place to be... That does not apply here unless you want to be swindled and disrespected. The manager is a crook and when called out about his dishonest business practice... "you can get the "f" out of here." With a few "G.D.'s" thrown in. Ray and I went yesterday to buy more practice rounds for our weapon. We decided not to get the expensive hollow point rounds for $50 and instead just get 2 boxes of practice rounds with an additional magazine. The ammo alone was already marked up 100%. He pulled a clip from a display weapon and chose to sell it to us at the same rate as the 50 rounds of hollow points and ran it through the register as ammo. Had we just ordered from Academy Sports online... we'd have saved so much money and wouldn't have been wholly and totally disrespected by this aweful "manager" that cussed us out for his wrong doing. He refused to do a refund and made it to where we had to leave with the Hollow points anyway. I'm very proud of how I conducted myself and the respect I carried for everyone in the store, including him. This is what makes supporting local businesses so challenging. People like that! Glad you dooped us one time. It will certainly be your last because we won't be back. Clock out and go home dude. Obviously you ain't fit to work with the public nor are you fit to sell firearms and ammo with that short temper. read more

So in 2019 i got a dv charge and in 2020 or 2021 i applied for a 45 and i told them about my charge and they told me i cant have ANY weapons and i spoke to jax sheriff and they said i could. At this point i feel like green acres lied to me and i feel played because it took 6 months for them to reply and i called every week and waited a month for them to tell me no i cant get it. So when i said what about the deposit they told me come get my puny $85 but theres a fee to even start it or background check. So it was $30 or $20 pick up and i was like "excuse me?" It was just insane. My husband, father in law will never go there again and they've got all of their weapons from here. Never again. The guy that i got the $30/$20 from said "why did they let you waste ur time if you had a charge? I dont know but here" read more

Let these guys re string my bow and change my cam mods and they told me it would cost $220.00. When I went to pick up my bow they charged me $320.00 and said that the extra cost is for the cam mods. You mean the cam mods you told me would be an equal trade for my old ones? They even tried to keep my old cam mods without my permission. To make matters worse after doing some research, I found the same cam mods for less than 50 % of the price they charged me. It's not hard at all to do right by people especially new bow hunters that can barely afford to hunt at all. Won't be returning. read more

Haven't been to this place In Almost 5 years and decided to give them a try because I was looking for specific scope rings for my rifle, and after exhausting all other options in the Jacksonville area I figured I'd give green acres a try. Upon walking in I wondered around looking for the scope rings and not a single person offered any assistance, oh well not a big deal once I found the scope rings (behind a sales counter) I finally had someone walk up and ask if I needed help I explained I needed a specific height scope rings and this is the point the sales person decided that's not what I needed and wanted to argue with me I kindly explained why I wanted higher scope rings and not just a riser and he walked off. I see not much has changed since I was last in here based off my interaction and others in these reviews. I definitely won't be back, not to mention they charged a friend of mine over $100+ for a FFL transfer (p.s. recon rifle works does transfers for $25 and are a hell of a lot friendlier) read more

Great folks, knowledgable & friendly. Competent repairs & service. Plenty of staff who all know their stuff. Good show!

This place is a complete ripoff on the guns/ammo/reloading side. I repeat drive 20-30 more minutes and go to another gun store. What you spend in gas, you will save in guns/ammo cost. My buddy spent about $250 more for a Sig here than another close-by gun store has for sale. Another time he "negotiated" his way to MSRP for an optic that they had marked up $150 over retail. The archery side is decent. They have an ok selection of bows, and they have their own brand arrows, which aren't too bad. read more

Great customer service. Very knowledgeable, and has a huge selection of great products. I am pleased how helpful they were and will go back

I wish I could give less than one star. They are price gouging big time at this place. They don't even have prices on ammo just shooting from the hip. They charged me $53 for a 20 round box of Remington core lokt 243. That's a $20 or less box anywhere else. Terrible that they think it's ok to take advantage of the situation in this country. read more

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! A simple transfer by the owner turned vulgar and insulting. Took my item away told me not to return. That was on the 13th of December. The reason being, I made note of all the bad reviews. The next week spoke to Kevin and he helped me. a very nice pleasant person. The transfer was completed by Kevin. Price gouging, bad attitude and I'm guessing they dont celebrate Christmas as we Christians do. Offer the owner some bacon or other pork products. The folks on University are way better to deal with. Dropped my bow off for a new string, which I was told was on hand and could be taken care of quickly. I emphasized to only replace the string and nothing more. I was then told the price of the string covers set up, but ok just the string replacement. Waited a week and stopped by to check on it, since I expected to hear something by day 3-4. They sold the string to someone else and didn't communicate this to me. Once the bow was done I show up to pay for the string to find they set up the bow and tied everything in without me being present to make adjustments, and charged me an extra $14 on my receipt for the string than I was told. When I asked about the up charge I was told it was for tying on the D loop. I reminded the guy that I didn't want any of this done, and asked why would you tie in the peep site without me anyways? He responded with that's right, and gave me the response, with a smart ass attitude, Do you want me to cut it off? I don't mind paying a for what i asked for, but I won't tolerate rudeness. I bought a CZ 82 here, years ago (2012), fresh surplus for $189.95 + fee and spare mag, out the door for under $250. Try and do that now. Beware...... We were excited to shop for the first time after hearing about the selection and customer service from others. Unfortunately that was not our experience. We arrived looking for a few specific pistol options. It was busy so we looked around as we waited for help. Understandably it took a bit but we were greeted by a very dry and dismissive clerk. We asked to see SC Pistol options and he pointed to the case and walked away. We looked for a few minutes and another clerk asked us what we wanted. I pointed to a few models and explained what we wanted it for and he pulled out several options. Nothing was really jumping out at us so we asked about a couple specific models. He was frustrated and said they were sold out and walked away. So as we looked a little further we came across one of the models we asked about right about the time he came out from the back with a box of the no. 1 model we had asked for. He handed it to us and we were ready to purchase, until he mentioned the price. $279 more than msrp? I asked him again thinking I had misunderstood and he said I heard him right and that's the price today if I want it. Then he turned and walked away. I will NEVER purchase anything from this dealer. This is gouging and despicable. Shame on you Green Acres! read more

For my purposes they could not have been any better. I never write reviews, but in an effort to balance out some of the negative ones, I wanted to say that I was able to find the extremely hard to find ammo that I was looking for at a reasonable price - especially in these ammo shortaged times. shipping was fast and transaction was easy. As with any new online purchase, there was skepticism about the potential for scamming and fakery - Green Acres is the real deal - you can rest assured they are legit and trustworthy. as an out of state customer relying on online shopping they were top notch. I'll be buying from them again when I need something that might be harder to find up here in Michigan . read more

Green Acres is a sporting goods store that focuses more on the outdoors, hunting, and weaponry than actual team sports. If you're looking for a baseball glove or tennis racket, you're not going to want to come here. I was impressed upon walking into Green Acres of the size of the store, as from the outside, it doesn't seem as big. On this particular day, the store was packed due to a gun safety course being given for those people working towards their gun permits. I got a vibe that safety is at the forefront for all employees (as it should be) and I'm glad to see this mindset bestowed upon customers. They seem to have a large selection of weaponry from rifles and handguns to bows and crossbows. If I ever were to hunt, I would want to do it with a bow or crossbow so that particular section held my fancy while visiting. They even have pink bows and crossbows, which would make you stick out like a sore thumb in the middle of the woods, but would be awesome to own, in any case. They also supply gun safes of all kinds, clothes from different hunting companies, as well as camouflage hunting gear, boots, and any type of supply that a person could need on a hunting or fishing trip. I have yet to buy anything here, as I was just accompanying someone on this particular trip, but I will definitely keep Green Acres in mind when I decide to pursue a purchase of a bow or gun. My only real complaint about Green Acres is the parking situation. As I said on this day, the place was packed and it made the parking lot and trying to maneuver out of it rather difficult with people parking and driving all over the place. read more

Saw the guy next to me negotiate the old man down from $1400+ down to $860 After waiting 10 minutes for a price the owners son Philip came over said $1200, I said would you do 8 $800. He literally said "wtf are you slow man?!" (Really loud infront of everyone) then again goes "No seriously are you f***ing slow man?! What do you think this is?! Are you slow?!?! You know what get out! Get tf out!!"& then the old man chimes in "& we'd really appreciate it if you didn't come back." Who do these f***ing people think they are?! Come to our country take advantage of Uncle Sam for decades & then insult his patriots when they come to buy a freedom stick! Just a hard working blue collar man, I came in with a pocket full of cash to buy a few rifles before Biden bans them. Thought I would spend my money locally so came here. That was his turn to say no but I'll meet in the middle if you buy two. & then I would've bought 3 of them! Not to call me out as if I had some type of disability, makes me think these guys are not only price gouging but they are also discriminating!! Will be laughing at these bastards when Biden bans all semi autos & high capacity mags. Their guns will turn to paper weights overnight & their livelihoods will be ruined. So I should have read the reviews before I went to buy ammo from them! Lesson learned! And I will never set foot in this store again. And I will let my family know who are avid hunters and gun owners. I went into to buy 380 ammo. My husband called to make sure they had it in stock, they did but wouldn't give prices over the phone. So I drove there, I told the sales clerk I needed 2 boxes he told me it was $171.90! Yikes! I thought well I didn't bring that much, my husband bought 2 boxes just a week before at dicks sporting goods and didn't pay more than $30 a box but I didn't want to drive back to that store. Because it was another 40 min drive. So I bought 1 box. I got back to the car and decided to check their website $39.95 a box on their website. And the receipt says no refund and is generic. You can't tell what I bought. Not sure if they jacked up the price because I'm a female or they do that to everyone. But their ammo was 3 times the amount as everywhere else!!! read more
