My car had two jobs to be done. It overheated and needed to have the rocker panels replaced and the whole car painted. Armand Cyr replaced the water pump, he said that fixed the overheating. I later found out that the car still overheated and another shop needed to replace the fan and radiator. As for the rocker panels and paint , I gave Armand a deposit on 7/16, and the job wasn't done until 9/27. Most of this time the car sat with the doors open so all the shop dust and cig smoke could get inside. I had to go buy the paint to help move the project along. On 10/1 I pick up the car , it overheats, its dirty, it still have masking tape on it, one of the door weather strips or off, there's paint overspray on the windows. So this paint job took 70 days and cost $1600.

In January I found myself in need of a second car, so I purchased a 2003 Passat Wagon from Rennen: Buying a used VW from a VW specialist just seemed to make sense to me, as I knew that it would be inspected by someone who I trusted, and actually knew what they were looking at ... not some random moron. So far, 7 months later, the car has been flawless for me, save one random control arm developing play (5mo after purchase - on a 120,000mile car, after a Maine winter) - so this was not a surprise, issue or in any way an expensive fix - all the same, Rennen took care of me with this. I called VIP to get their price, they quoted me about the same price as Amazon, but the awesome part is, they install it at no charge if you purchase the bulb there (or at O'Reilly's auto parts, in same establishment. It does not matter, VIP charges you and does the installation.) This, to me, was an amazing deal. The fog lights in my car are no picnic to get to. Doing it myself looked like an incredible pain in the ass. Here at VIP, they took me right in, put my car on the lift, and had new bulb installed very quickly. Apparently, they offer many of these small, but convenient, free services. The staff at this location are very customer service oriented. I had avoided VIP for a number of years because most of my business had been done at their Sabattus St. location, and the staff gives you more of that typical, busy mechanics, "we don't need your business" kind of attitude and they assume you are stupid. My recent visit to the Lisbon St. location gave me a whole new respect for this business, and is probably where I will continue to go. Thank you!

I left after $450.00 bill and started to go to lewiston and the trans was still self shifting. They took it back and diagnosed a valve body so they put that in along with a master rebuild kit. Thee ford didn't make it a week and 5 th and 6 th speeds were slipping. Once again they ttok it back in after waiting a period of time and said an o-ring was cracked. Once again i didn't make it 3 days and transmission had same issues. What is really upsetting is I have called and they must have caller i.d. because they wont even answer the phone. I have left many messages to get it back in and they have not been returned. Now i am forced to put it through small claims to get my $3300.00 back that i have paid total and trans doesn't work.
