He performed a complex procedure that involved extracting my tooth, completing a root canal, and then reimplanting it in an effort to save it. What impressed me most was his honesty and dedication. He told me he had never performed this exact procedure before, but he thoroughly researched it, explained all of the risks, benefits, and possible outcomes, and made sure I understood what to expect every step of the way. I came here for an extensive dental estimate and was quoted enough money to practically buy a new car. After looking around, I decided to get a second opinion, and I'm extremely glad I did. At Dental Care, I was given a treatment plan that seemed to include crowns on nearly every tooth, which felt very excessive and overwhelming. At another dental office, I was treated much better. I didn't feel judged, and the staff seemed more focused on preserving my natural teeth and finding other practical treatment options. After being evaluated there, I was told that I only needed two crowns and that the remaining teeth could be treated with fillings. The second dentist quoted me a fraction of the price I was given here. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major or expensive dental treatment. The staff at the new clinic also mentioned that many of their patients come to them for second opinions after receiving treatment plans from Dental Care, which made my experience feel even less isolated. To the dentists here, you guys should be more concerned about SAVING natural teeth than replacing them with fake teeth! I genuinely have no more words to express how betrayed I feel. We went in for a free consultation, had not decided this was the office or surgeon we were going with or not. Told them we would discuss all at home and let them know. We were very impressed with the dentist, the knowledge and the time and care he took to explain everything. But as every BIG decision you don't make that on a spur of the moment. You weigh your options. Was leaning toward this office until we started receiving late fee bills?! For what? They said we had missed appointments, that we never made!! The communication from the office staff is extremely lacking. I was told multiple times that my dental insurance was accepted here, only to receive a surprise $165 bill a couple weeks later! No one in the office had at any point communicated that they were out of network for my insurance, and had repeatedly assured me that my insurance was accepted and I would not be paying anything. Apparently they don't know what they're talking about. The care I had at my dental exam was nice and everyone was friendly, but I'm furious at the bill. Tell your staff to make sure insurance is actually accepted before you charge someone hundreds of dollars. read more

I have always been super anxious to go to the dentist, rooting from bad dental experiences in my childhood. When my composite filling fell off and I needed help, Greeley Dental Care was willing to help me and walk me through the entire process- decreasing my anxiety. I do appreciate it greatly; however I do not think that placing a review on Yelp should be the only way to get a businesses attention. They also informed me that the person who made the initial mistake is no longer working at their practice. I enjoyed the care I received at Greeley Dental Care, and would have been a repeat patient for many years if it were not for this insurance fiasco. After a 10 year period of seeking dental care only for emergencies, I finally subscribed to a national dental insurance plan after relocating to Denver to be near family and close friends. Little did I know how hard it would be to find a good practice in this market. Throughout the ensuing 9-month ordeal visiting 7 different dental offices, I was ready to give up. I had been subjected to numerous problems that either were unacceptable, unbelieveable or just downright irreconcilable. Chief among them were 1/ overbilling for treatments covered by insurance I was already paying for, 2/ an utter lack of response to numerous emails, phone calls and in person visits for answers to issues/concerns, 3/ deceit, manipulation, sleight-of-hand, chicanery, false advertising, and other questionable business "practices" or 4/ mere incompetence. For me, the key is being able to trust that the dentists, office staff and parent corporation are putting patients' needs above their own. Then, the office should recognize that patients need confidence that they've chosen the right office for help. Finally, I think if fair that any health provider understand my personal concerns before prescribing the best course of treatment for me as an individual patient seeking competent and seasoned counsel at the outset. When you've been put through the ringer by one dental office after another, moving from one to the next in what becomes a vain attempt to find one, at least one that's dependable in across-the-board treatment, care, financial management and follow up, it begins to feel like the odds are stacked against you and the office is primarily interested only in how much money they can make off your plight. It actually felt like I was being punished for not taking better care of myself! Sadly, this attitude is becoming increasingly evident in the approach of institutions, corporations and industries of all sizes in the current business climate of avarice and rapacity as customers and consumers who just desire a better quality of life are taken advantage of, scammed, deceived, lied to, manipulated, over-marketed and under-delivered. No where is this more evident than in the seniors bracket of age 65 and older. Against this backdrop, then, it was so refreshing, even startling to come upon Greeley Dental Care! Their care team is just that, a crew of dedicated professionals focused on creating a conscientious, comforting and straight-forward approach to delivering a range of tangible dental and health benefits in a relaxed setting. I could almost sense an uncanny instinct of the staff and providers, intuitive talents that could be learned but is more likely a result of each staff and team member's natural palette of abilities and attitudes. Leading the charge is Dr. Taher Dhoon. After his initial examination (a thorough tooth-by-tooth evaluation and accounting), it was determined that a series of visits would create the best outcome, each visit leading to a progressive and substantive improvement and eventual return to excellent overall dental health. This would be accomplished with the least amount of invasive treatment and discomfort, at the same time, repairing any damage and establishing a new baseline to build on going forward. In his no-nonsense and easy-going manner, Dr. Dhoon put me at ease instantly. When it came time for the actual procedures, he teamed up with talented assistants and then supervised while he/she took the lead. Little, if any, correction was necessary. I consider this kind of personal empowerment a true measure of real leadership. It tells me that Dr. Dhoon does not merely hire lackeys to do his bidding. To the contrary, because I could tell Dr. Dhoon had my best interests in mind and at heart, by extension, I had total faith that his colleagues, in particular Manuel (Manny), would bring the same attentive commitment to first-class standards in creating dental artistry with my new bridges. Despite the apprehensions and negative experiences we can all discover when going to the dentist, I can give Greeley Dental Care my highest recommendation. Anyone who knows me knows I don't just hand out these kinds of accolades without merit. They are earned, considered, measured, drafted and refined, then reinforced with repeated quality experiences over time. If you have any doubts about going to a dentist, which office to see and when to make your move, I believe you will find the same levels of care, comfort and professionalism in a relaxing and natural vibe with Dr. Taher Dhoon and GDC. My college age daughter had been to see another dentist with no resolution or plan to handle complications that arose. I've been diagnosed with a mild case of sleep apnea and decided to move forward with an oral appliance as a treatment option for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. I was very nervous at first but Dr. Dhoon was very thorough and efficient with the treatment process and how we were going to fix this so that I can get better sleep moving forward.
