Tucked in the heart of East Tampa, Greedy Lee's is a true neighborhood gem. From the outside, it looks like an old corner store, but inside it's a simple smokehouse that locals love. Don't expect a paved parking lot; park at your own risk. Once you step inside, you'll quickly forget about your car. The menu is full of options: dinners, sandwiches, various meats, and plenty of Southern sides. If you're craving ribs, pulled pork, or a turkey leg, each bite has that slow-smoked, pit master quality that makes Greedy Lee's stand out from typical barbecue places. The portions are big, the flavors are strong, and everything tastes homemade. As a first-time visitor, I asked for recommendations and was told that I couldn't go wrong with the drippin chicken and mixed sauces. The chicken was seasoned and grilled perfectly; at first bite, I almost mistook it for pork because it was so juicy and tender, especially with the combination of barbecue sauces. No meal is complete without something sweet. I highly recommend saving room for the sweet potato pound cake; it's the perfect finish to a true soul-food feast. Greedy Lee's isn't about fancy décor or polished presentation--it's about real barbecue served with pride. If you're in East Tampa and hungry, it's definitely worth a visit.

A best kept secret within the East area of Tampa near Hillsborough Ave. sits Greedy Lees take out. The restaurant serves pork ribs, chicken, sausage oxtails, and even smoked Turkey Legs. I'm talking all things barbecue!! This place is amazing and I'm hooked on the Famous Tomahawk steak. Get it as a meal & you'll be full for 2 days . Next up on the menu are the desserts: I sampled the Red Velvet which was a huge portion and pretty velvety. The pound cake had my attention as I've never tasted a sweet potato pound with this 1 having a pecan encrusted drizzle. Kiss the baker baby for the 7-Up pound & least we not forget the Banana pudding. Overall Greedy Lees provides service with a smile and a sweet drank to wash it all down. Tea or punch ( pineapple I believe) will make you slap yourself for not stopping by sooner. With that they also cater if you really need love & care. Doors open @11:00 - 6:00 Wed-Sun so come early and join the anticipatory line which usually moves pretty fast (if you know exactly what you want) but well worth the wait!! ***Don't forget to purchase their merch.

I ordered the ribs tips, no sides? $18.99 . Wasn't tender enough and potion ratio was off for me for the quality and cost.

I wasn't happy about my order because of the ratio and price. $18.99 . Wow. My ribs tips wasn't tender, really chewy but the flavor was there. If they would update the inside bc it could use some TLC .

Listen!!! This place is fire! It looks like a little hole in the wall and there's no seating in the inside, but you come here for the food not the ambiance. They have a tomahawk steak dinner for $49.99. They have ribs, chicken, links and all the things you expect from a BBQ joint but what is special and unexpected are the Greedy Tails! These are oxtails cooked on the grill and they are absolutely delicious!!! Seasoned to perfection and they give you a good portion! I highly recommend!!!! And it was only $25.99 for the oxtail dinner which is great! The macaroni and cheese was solid, green beans extremely well flavored but a tad salty. I loved the potatoe salad... perfect. Was disappointed that they were sold out of collard greens but I'll be back to try those next. This a great soul food find!

We got there early -- actually before they even opened -- and the line was already super long. The place is small and they move a little slower, but it's 100% worth the wait. I got the two meat platter with ribs and chicken, both seasoned really well. They had a honey mustard sauce and a barbecue sauce -- both were really good. The mac & cheese was delicious and the string beans were tasty too. We also tried the strawberry crunch and lemon cake -- both were amazing. Definitely recommend! Also, just to clear it up, the spot isn't in the hood like some people were saying -- it's just a regular neighborhood.

I felt for barbecue for lunch but wanted to try somewhere new. I pulled up to the restaurant which is located in a neigbhborhood. There is not a set place for parking so I parked on the side of the road. The restaurant itself seems to be an order and pickup your food- not sit down and dine. Food is ordered through a small window . I planned to order the chicken and ribs but there would be a wait for chicken so I ordered the rib dinner. The employee who took the order and the employee who provided the order were very pleasant. I ordered macaroni and cheese and baked beans for the my sides. The macaroni and cheese did not have much taste but the baked beans were good. The ribs were delicious and well seasoned. I ordered a slice of 7 up pound cake which generously sliced, delicious and moist. The prices for everything were reasonable. I will definitely return here and look forward to trying the chicken.

This is worth the drive no matter where you live! It is take out only but it was sooooo good we were going to wait to get home to eat it but finished it in the parking lot! The customer service made you feel like you were at home. This is definitely the only place we will ever go for BBQ!

Slow smoked Oxtail meal was very good! Strawberry crunch cake was excellent! Get there early as you can on Saturday...the line was crazy! Food was worth my wait {1 hour +} I will be trying the ribs and Turkey Leg next!

Two meat meal with chicken and ribs and baked beans and Mac for the sides. Highly recommend!

The sausage was amazing. Unsweetened tea was good, as well as potato salad and beans. Cons: the ribs were very large, tender and had a great smoke flavor but that's it. They were pretty fatty, although still had a decent amount of meat. But there was no real flavor to the meat other than the "smoke". The brisket was tender also but flavorless. I tried both sauces. Both taste very ketchup based with the Hot just being super spicy. I mixed the sausage and brisket together to eat so it would help the brisket. The location is great and in walking distance in Ybor, from the trolly or locals. Little house like place with two tvs on. One playing sports while the other was playing some Jerry Springer style lame drama, and was plenty loud for us to hear. Overall, very disappointed. The Smoker was going and gave us high hopes but lack of flavor made for a very dull meal.

I've only had beef cheeks one other time, at LeRoy and Lewis in Austin, but I have to give Danny's the edge. They were unbelievably tender, literally melt in your mouth, with incredible flavor. The Wagyu Dino Rib was every bit as impressive. It was absolutely massive with a beautiful bark, the perfect amount of smoke, and so tender it practically fell apart. Of course I couldn't leave without some brisket, and it was just as outstanding as always. I had the chance to chat with Danny, and he and his team are some of the nicest people you'll meet. Their passion for great barbecue is obvious in everything they do. The Brisket Shoppe consistently serves some of the best BBQ I've had anywhere and, in my opinion, it's the best you'll find outside of Texas. Quality meat, cooked low and slow with skill, pride, and passion. It doesn't get much better than that. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. Pro tip: Order online ahead of time. You'll skip the line, make sure you get exactly what you're after, and avoid the disappointment of them selling out. Trust me... they will sell out.

Beef brisket and pulled pork were both tender and delicious. I was particularly impressed that the pork was moist and had such great flavor from the mojo brine. I would get both of those meats again. Loaded potato salad was flavorful; the skins are left on the potatoes, which I didn't mind but overall it was a little mayo-heavy for me. The chocolate chip cookies were scrumptious but I'm looking forward to trying the much-talked-about banana pudding next time. Ordering at the kiosk was easy. Loved all the little rooms for seating. I will definitely return! The drawbacks: the BON BON/roll that comes with the meal...mine was very dark and overcooked and dry and because of that, not at all enjoyable. (Didn't look like the light, delicate ones in all the pictures). The collards were SOO salty and drenched in vinegar, I couldn't eat them. Also, the only dining area that felt properly cooled on this very hot day was the room in the very back.

The Tampa 2 had so much potential, but the bread was soggy and the Mac and cheese really didn't have much flavor. My son did love his pulled pork sandwich and banana pudding.
