I would not recommend this service and the stars if zero was an option this would be it. But…read more unfortunately many people RELY on them and their services are terrible and 75% of their drivers are UNFRIENDLY and RUDE especially when you greet them or thank them for getting you to the locations ESPECIALLY the make drivers. They literally hate their job and definitely just doing it for the pay and maybe the benefits I understand clearly they encounter some very ride and disgusting behavior however if you have a handful showing appreciation change your NASTY Attitude and DEMEANOR for those few. They are forever LATE and no apologies but let the rider be late they will then continue their merry way...Sone drivers feel they can drive real slow or be the last to get to the pickup location and the last to departure after their clearance ...Let me not get started on the condition of these buses the seats are extremely dirty/filthy these customer out their nasty shoes on the seats like it's their living room. The floors are filthy with trash and pretty much all the windows are BROKEN they do NOT close they close it the bus drive pop right back open all the locks are BROKEN that's will not working for these colds days since September/October to present SMH ‍ They smoke their vapes, NO HEADPHONES AND LOUD MUSID AND CONVERSATION that's rude and distracting drivers says NOTHING and drink Alcohol on the bus in the back Lay out back there like a couch etc. I wonder why do you pay maintenance what are they doing to these buses absolutely NOTHING. I have seen a passenger got off the bus went from a drunken state and I am sure someone sat in that disgusting mess. The seats needs to be sanitized every time on goes into the GARAGE. Or bring back the hard seats where they clan be cleaned by wiping down. People ride these buses and then go home to sit on beds and other furnitures. Someone said the saw cockroaches etc. on the bus .. Yet you raise the fare what service is the people getting for the price???? Since Covid it seems they let go of taking care of these buses. I have noticed that the buses going to Wallingford/Meriden at night since the shift changes seems to be the last bus to leave the Green after all the others SMH..The Foxon Rd bus to ShopRite route sucks because 645/650pm is the last bus what about the employees who works at ShopRite, Rite Aid, CVS etc. so inconsiderate to them not everyone can afford Ubers/Lyfts or getting the shift to leave at the time of that last bus. They are also always late going up that area in the noontime then you see all the Hamden: Brookside buses in multiples and triple back to back. The suburbs with the exception of New Haven has to rely heavily on CTRail who need later services to Hartford because the Amtrak coverage for late times are horrendous and always late having issues the transportation system is CT sucks and has gotten worse especially since Covid

My experience after a full year of riding the bus…read more Wish I didn't have to take the bus to work, but can't afford the parking downtown. Typically in the morning the buses are more on time--afternoon buses going from New Haven towards Hamden are NEVER on time. Do not trust the schedule. Some of the bus drivers are very nice; some of them are meh--this I don't care about too much. More irritatingly, I've had buses pass me (on the opposite side of the road where the stop was), have them go off route (resulting in my having to wait yet another 30 minutes for the next bus), and even had a bus driver force me off the bus at a random street because she didn't want to finish the route, and proceeded to drive down a different street in a random direction. Yep. Disclaimer: I spent all morning today waiting for two buses.

This is the local metro north station for New Haven. It is the end of the line where mostly…read moreeveryone gets off. It was my first time so I followed the large crowds. There is an interesting underground path that takes you to the main station. It is a very small station compared to others in New York City or Philly. There was a small gift shop and a Dunkin Donuts which had a large line. Outside there was a crowd of people waiting for an Uber or the local bus to downtown. It cost about $20 each way from the city. It was only my first time in New Haven so I didn't know what to compare it to. It was a cloudy rainy day so everyone seemed miserable. I would have to come back here on a sunny day to see if there is a difference.

I took Amtrak from New Rochelle NY to New Haven Connecticut. I initially chose the State Street…read morestation in New Haven, but soon realized Union is less than a mile from State Street and it's not only much more convenient to get off at Union, but Union is a much nicer landing place. Union also offers more options when choosing routes. It should also be noted that on some Amtrak routes, State Street is the final destination, so the train has to turn around and change direction, therefore debarking the train will take longer if you get off at State Street. State Street is a functional, clean station, but there is no inside seating, vending machines, etc. Union is much larger, with inside seating, not too crowded, lots of attendants to help out. Vending machines aren't super well stocked, but they exist. The bathrooms are pretty clean and no lines when I was there. Food is limited--a news stand, a S'barro. I didn't have any food, but stopped by for a cold Diet Coke and the staff were very nice. Escalators work, elevators work, signage is very clear and consistent, floors pretty clean. I have been spoiled by Moynihan in NYC, and the Philly lounge and the Chicago lounge. But the more I've traveled by train, the more I realize those stations are outliers. I visited Baltimore's station several days ago and it was in utter disrepair. Gave me a new appreciation for a pretty "nice" station. Union (why are they all named Union?!) is a pretty nice station.
