If I have to go to the airport in NY and I have nobody to drop me off, or my flight leaves in the afternoon, I don't mind taking the train. It's relaxing, power plugs available to charge my phone or iPad and it takes me straight to Grand Central. From there I take the 7 and then the Q70 to LGA, one way off-peak under $20.00. Maybe it's the Dutch Globetrotter in me, but I love taking the train.

Kind of seedy and parking is terrible. Place is not inviting at all. This is not a train station I'd recommend but it is convenient to the Bridgeport and Stratford areas and they have many trains going in and out. The place is really in need of an overhaul and it's in a rough area. Parking could also be very much improved on. For myself I prefer the Fairfield train station.

While in NYC, I took a day trip to see some family & friends in CT. Took the train from Grand Central and got off here. It's pretty clean, wasn't all hobo'd out or anything. Good size parking lots, good areas for pickup & drop off, and a good amount of taxis waiting too. Trains seemed to run on time when arriving and departing. Be careful to not walk off the platform before the train arrives, because it happens more than you think. Don't be the guy I saw that had to lean way over to see if the train was coming. Anyways, it was real convenient, nice & quick process to get on & off, pretty good station.

A very convenient train station that serves both Amtrak and metro North. I flew into LaGuardia but needed to get to Bridgeport, so I decided to take the Amtrak. I took it from Penn Station to Bridgeport and it was only 3 stops in less than 2 hrs. This train station is small but it gets the job done. There are 2 main tracks, track 3 and 4. You walk upstairs to where track 3 is and there is the information screen with all the train schedules, as well as a little coffee shop for snacks. There are also self serve kiosks where you can buy tickets if you haven't previously done so. Aside from the info screen, you can also track amtrak departures via online or by app. You can also load your ticket via app, so you dont have to pay. It was really easy to navigate this station and I would happily come back in the future.

Not the best train station, but not terrible either. The few times that I've had to take a train from here I was always grateful for the security people and police around. You can definitely run into some shady characters here. Last time I took a train, it was to go pick up my car from the shop in Stamford. I took one of my pitties with me and I must say, she was treated much better in Bridgeport than in Stamford.

Positives: Plenty of affordable monthly parking. Large waiting room on the NY side (not so much on the New Haven side). Well lit and safe. Areas of Improvement: Cleanliness!!!!! The stairs to the platforms always have something! Be it dog poop or throw up. It only dissipates due to rain or people not looking and tracking it on their shoes. But still, it's there for a good 4 days. Also, it would be nice if the little store inside would A. Stop robbing people B. Accept debit cards.

The way to travel in a snowy day

I expected to have to bring my own shovel today due to a snow storm. To my surprise, the Bridgeport train station workers did a wonderful job. This station has been transformed from the old, dark and scary looking station of years past. Everything is clean and presentation. The artwork in the underground tunnel adds a fresh touch. The speaker system is loud enough to hear. Security can be seen roaming around keeping us safe. I used to travel a few more exits to catch my trains from Fairfield. This is no longer necessary because I feel very comfortable here. There is a walkway directly to the bus terminal. There are many cabs lying in wait. The ferry walkway is just a stones throw away as well. There is a small cafe inside that offers a variety of choices, but make sure to bring cash.

I take this train weekly. It is a bit on the pricier size but it is a convenient option to get to the city. The train is clean and safe. There are bathrooms onboard. It is a quiet ride early mornings. The parking lot is free on the weekends, but paid during the week. Recently. A pedestrian walkway was added since people drive like maniacs to catch the train. There are no bathrooms at the station. There is a coffee shop near the train station that opens 6am to 6pm. Overall, I enjoy the convenience of this station. The first time I used it I was confused by the ticketing machine. Now I use the MTA train time app which is more convenient and easier to use. It provides live updates regarding delays and track changes.
