My train was also on time, and I arrived quickly and safely at my destination. I did find it confusing that the person collecting tickets didn't bother to show up and do that until we got to the 125th street station, which is the second to last stop, but that didn't alter my experience in any way.

I'd give it more stars, but you have to go up and over to get to the tracks (it's a single center platform with tracks on either side). It was hot on the day I had to climb up those steps so I took a star off because of the sweat. There are elevators if you have a disability but I couldn't imagine how hot they'd be in the summer weather. But I'm guessing they don't smell like the elevators in the subway in the city.

It's less than 90 minutes from Grand Central to Brewster and it's generally a lovely ride. A lot of people get off the train at White Plains and then by Bedford Hills, it's fairly empty. The station at Brewster is adorable and looks like it could be in a Hallmark movie. There is limited parking, but if you're just being picked up, it's easy enough for someone to grab a spot and wait (or just circle around until you come out). I like the Brewster station. Note: you need to be in one of the front four or six cars to exit at this station, so don't get on at the back of the train.

Then the station is locked, so if the weather is cold you can only stand by the tickets station, which is not that big. The taxi charge 30-45 dollars to take you someone, especially if you live in Danbury. There is not enough shuttle buses at the train station. A bathroom would be nice. Children, elderly, pregnant women do take the train now a day.

The restrooms are never open in the morning or evening, so don't count on them being. Their is a little school house next to the station that has never been open whether 7am in the morning, 12pm or 7pm at night it's not open. So you can look through the windows and think How nice it would be to have a cup of coffee. Also their is no ticket machines on the platform, you have to buy your tickets on the train, they charge you regular price it's just annoying. Besides that the platform is never crowded because everyone goes to Wilton.

Not the same service level of Wilton, also free, but easy ingress and egress works in Cannondale's favor.

It's a quiet little station devoid of the crackheads who are rampant in Waterbury, so police presence isn't needed late at night - yeah, it's deserted, but on the same side, nobody's going to bother you walking to your car at the garage across the street because there's nobody there to bother you. However, if it's the weekend or I don't want to spend a zillion years travelling, or just need better service frequency, I'd take the extra 15 minutes to ride over the state line to Brewster. On the weekend the slight extra expense for tickets evens out when your round trip is 80 minutes shorter and parking is free. That said, during the week there are some direct to/from GCT trains during peak hours.

Danbury is the first stop so I am guaranteed a spot to sit. The station is small, quaint and clean! I have yet to be inside the little building - so I may have to update this review. There is parking right in front of the station which I opted not to do as I have black leather seats which would be scorching when I got home and thinking ahead I do not want to shovel snow off my car. I park in the deck which is very close. The conductors on this line are very nice and even comedic. While the ride to Stanford is long - I know I will quickly get used to it. I can sleep! It has only been 3 days but the service has never been delayed.
