If we had been leaving on a weekday, there would have been a parking fee, but that would have been balanced out by their Donut Crazy being open! Yup, a Donut Crazy is right there!

Why aren't there ticket machines at the other end of the platform and inside the waiting area? I can't be the only person to feel frustrated by that! Also, just pave the back day area already, too many times I've come and have to park back there. It's bad enough it's SO far away, but for Pete's sake, when it rains it gets pretty nasty back there!

I take this train weekly. It is a bit on the pricier size but it is a convenient option to get to the city. The train is clean and safe. There are bathrooms onboard. It is a quiet ride early mornings. The parking lot is free on the weekends, but paid during the week. Recently. A pedestrian walkway was added since people drive like maniacs to catch the train. There are no bathrooms at the station. There is a coffee shop near the train station that opens 6am to 6pm. Overall, I enjoy the convenience of this station. The first time I used it I was confused by the ticketing machine. Now I use the MTA train time app which is more convenient and easier to use. It provides live updates regarding delays and track changes.

The train station has plenty of covered waiting stations so even if it is cold, rainy or snowing you are protected from the elements. If you are picking up or dropping off passengers they have drop off areas where you can park and let out your passengers and it makes itt so easy to pickup or drop off. The train station is very clean, well lit and seems to be very safe.

Thank you Metro-North for doing better than my own state. New Haven Line service has great scenery plus electric outlets. And South Norwalk in particular was a pleasant surprise. Not only was there was a decent bathroom and phone-charging capability, but being able to enjoy a bit of AC and watch News 12 was, to quote Eric Bogosian, the icing on the gravy.

But in general, with Metro North trains at least, you board on the right hand side of the train. So if you're going east/north (to New Haven), stand on the south track. The side closest to the FTC building. Conversely, if you're going to NYC, stand on the north side - with the big parking lot. On the positive side, if you are waiting for a pick-up from friend/uber/whatever, there's a 24/7 heated building with restrooms.

Right next to a diner and in walking distance of bars, a movie theatre and restaurants galore. An easy walk from most houses in Springdale. Some direct trains to Grand Central during peak times. Clean and usually on time. What more could you ask for?
