If you park in the pay by the day…read morelot, the walk is about 1/3 of a mile from the parking area to the station (I tracked it on my Garmin watch). The parking rate is $4 for the day. Easy trip from SE station to Grand Central. Took about 90 minutes each way. Tip: even if you're just going to use the train one time, download the MTA eTix app. It's a good app and easy to use. The Amtrak employees are AMAZING. I've now taken several trips with this same crew, from DC to Baltimore to New Haven. They are SOLID people you feel safe with. For example, I fell asleep once and missed my stop. The conductor/employee helped me off and to find the train to get on to get back to my intended destination. This time around, the employee/conductor told me that I could get off in CT at State Street, which is what was on my ticket, but I would have to stay on the train much longer because they would have to turn around and re-align the trains. He gave me the tip that most passengers get off at Union station (SO close to State Street, it's a negligible distance). Then he took enough care to come back by again to tell me that Union was the next station if I wanted to get off. The cafe car was also wonderful. His credit card machine stopped working. I told him that I had cash, but made the joke that I didn't look forward to walking the LONG walk from the cafe car back to business class to get that cash. He offered to COME TO ME to get the cash later, and he did! Tipped him majorly! Business class is more expensive than coach, we are talking two to three times the price, but you get to choose your seat. On this particular line, it's never been full and I've never had anyone sitting next to me. It's worth it to me, but for some, it may not be. Cafe car has plenty of drinks and snacks. Sandwiches, cheese and cracker trays, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done. But I can't get over how these guys have seemingly looked out for me and taken care of me on my many trips up and down the rails.

I'm on an Acela right now. The car smells bad, there's no airflow in the car and it is too stuffy…read moreand hot. The only things the Acela has going for it are the legroom & seat space, and maybe that I don't have to deal with the airport lines. Overall no better than taking a plane with respect to comfort.

There are two tracks with ample seating and elevators for accessibility. The entrance has a bit of a through street flow so traffic flows easily, and there are buses available as well.

Thank you Metro-North for doing better than my own state. New Haven Line service has great scenery plus electric outlets. And South Norwalk in particular was a pleasant surprise. Not only was there was a decent bathroom and phone-charging capability, but being able to enjoy a bit of AC and watch News 12 was, to quote Eric Bogosian, the icing on the gravy.

It's a quiet little station devoid of the crackheads who are rampant in Waterbury, so police presence isn't needed late at night - yeah, it's deserted, but on the same side, nobody's going to bother you walking to your car at the garage across the street because there's nobody there to bother you. However, if it's the weekend or I don't want to spend a zillion years travelling, or just need better service frequency, I'd take the extra 15 minutes to ride over the state line to Brewster. On the weekend the slight extra expense for tickets evens out when your round trip is 80 minutes shorter and parking is free. That said, during the week there are some direct to/from GCT trains during peak hours.

Danbury is the first stop so I am guaranteed a spot to sit. The station is small, quaint and clean! I have yet to be inside the little building - so I may have to update this review. There is parking right in front of the station which I opted not to do as I have black leather seats which would be scorching when I got home and thinking ahead I do not want to shovel snow off my car. I park in the deck which is very close. The conductors on this line are very nice and even comedic. While the ride to Stanford is long - I know I will quickly get used to it. I can sleep! It has only been 3 days but the service has never been delayed.

We had a wonderful three day stay at this Delamar hotel. Our room with two queen beds was larger…read morethan most and everything seemed updated in the bathroom. My friend worked in the area while I relaxed in a hotel that feels like home. The staff was very friendly and exceptionally accommodating. Having the daily WSJ and NYT newspapers available for guests was a plus, too. We were surprised that the prices for rooms was equal to the chain hotels like Hilton and Hampton Inn. The underground parking was also convenient. Breakfasts in The Artisan Restaurant on the first floor were definitely above average with lots to choose from - fresh fruit, cereals, scrambled or boiled eggs, potatoes, and bacon, plus a variety of breads and muffins. We ate dinner one of the evenings and enjoyed it very much - salmon with sauteed spinach and a salad; and a pasta dish we shared. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

The second time I was in need of their services was due to a flight to new haven was changed and I ended up missing the last flight. I asked the airline for s room at a nearby hotel and they said they could not accommodate me because they were all booked. I called a few few hotels to check and yep all were booked. They offered to fly me in to a close by airport which was Hartford, Ct as a standby. Well everyone showed up for that flight. I was then offered NJ or Boston. I chose Boston. I could've stayed and waited til the next day and waited for the new haven flight at noon. But heck no! Philli has the dirtiest airport!!! I couldn't bare to stay there with sketchy weirdos doing sit-ups on the grimmy carpeting. Yep! Its was an absolute nightmare! So I called up the Limo Group literally in tears and explained my situation. They gladly picked me up short notice. I think when I called my flight to Boston was in an hr.
