Once you get over the fact this is an old warehouse and there is no other roller skating rink to go to you become grateful there is somewhere to go to live out your youth . I don't like the metal plates which are part of the flooring as it's not easy to roll over when you travel to and from the rink but the rink itself is fine . It's a decent size to roller skate and it's not overly crowded so it works . Like anything in life it's the perspective and sometimes it's yourself and who you are with that makes or breaks the fun. We had about 10 of us in our party and we had a blast . We went on Thursday night adult night 7-10pm and dj mixed up mostly R&B but told us they would play more 80's when we came back. We plan to go again next month . People skating were smoking and happy .. saw some really good skaters too. This is what I focused on and I'm grateful we have somewhere to go skate among adults every single week is we wanted to. Sadly there are no lockers so plan to bring minimal extras and carry wallet on you. There is a smell of basement or what not but again .. this is only rink we have with adult night so if we focus on the fun we forget the rest ;)

Your 2 hour window of enjoyment does not equate to any hurry for the rink staff. Quite a few people were working at the rink, yet only ONE person was working at the desk you paid at, handling the money and change (it's cash only), giving you skate rental tickets, and stamping your hand. I waited at least 30 minutes in line just to get in, only to immediately wait another 20 or so minutes in the rental skate line. The guys at the skate counter were great. They were trying to hurry. Unfortunately, they ran out of my size and I was unable to rent skates. I then had to go get in line to get a refund on my skating and rental. But ONLY the manager could refund me. Not the one girl who took your fees to begin with. But the manager was busy and so I waited at least 10 minutes for that. They need to get more help from the other employees when people are arriving to skate and it's such a busy day. Or just plan to arrive very early. If you come on a random day, it will be much better, much less crowded, and a higher star experience. They have skate and shoot during the week, lunch skate, and open skate. These are great and bring the rating up a bit. I'm about to start my son in skating lessons here, which they have on certain Tuesdays and Saturdays and I'm excited to see how that goes. Prices are $7 to skate, $6 for students/youth, $5 to rent.

There's also a mini arcade and a snack bar inside the arena. You can sit inside the bleachers only when you are not wearing your ice skates. Service: The people who were at the cashier and at the skate rental stalls were pretty nice and courteous, but there was a female staff member who was in charge of watching people at the ice that came up to me and gave me a warning. The rink is humble but obviously the town where the nestle factory used to be remains a legend. The roller skating rink was built when everyone in Syracuse and Fulton were still supported by blue collar work .... And it was a glorious time. But now the Nestle factory isn't there .. but the people remain and so does Bilou. A lot of kids there but also adults ! The skate management does a great job in turning the lights on almost every other song and they play the songs the teens all want to hear .. turn the strobes on.. lights off :) bug right after they turn on the lights and play a song to maintain the calm and super fun atmosphere. And the snacks are only a buck ! The price is very doable .. especially for a town where the unemployment rate is high. If you come to Bilou and you aren't happy with their business just go ahead and let management know .: from what I can see (and I have no affiliation with the management or rink) they are really doing their best. That is a loss, but second star is removed because the manager who was in charge of admission was not very friendly and did not hand me change instead he put it on the table. Traditionally you hand the change to the person. I was a cashier at stores in past so I know what being friendly means. He has no smiles. What is worse was that he lost another star. This is why I have 2 out of 5 because of his attitude and because of safety. The fire exit doors has a wood stud blocking. That is better than chain locks. But also what is bad is the front door exit blocked with stuff of his. I was going to leave and I noticed all things are blocked so I had to exit at the entrance door. Because of this, that is dangerous. Now, the place itself has shown age. The insulation needs replacement since I see its torn on upper walls and ceiling. Needs repairs. the floor I counted 25 spots or so needs truly sanded and polished with new polyurethane coating on the floor to protect the floor. Of course it is Maple wood in fan pattern for the turns. What is worse is that I was videotaping myself and doing selfies for my website and the owner does not like me doing that but other people were filming the rink themselves with their children! It does not make any sense. This is why he lost this third star. I highly recommend you find another rink. Poor attitude and safety reasons are high on factor for my concerns for you, skaters.

He ran a very tight ship while he owned this place. I guess he had felt he needed to be. It was nice when I used to go there ! I had fun & many memories of this place. My late mother would go there on Tuesday mornings to skate. If you ever had bought skates from him his would fix them if they needed to be fixed. I guess Jack finally grew old & passed away - Don't know if the kids have it.
