From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a beautiful Scripture quote on the wall and a cozy, inviting atmosphere with pink and dark green decor. My go-to spot in Georgia for the last 8 years!! Greatea is always SO consistent in their flavor and tea quality! The shop is owned by such a sweet lady and the service is always incredibly welcoming and fast. I get the signature yellow cream with less sugar and ice, she's perfection. Probably the best tea shop in the Johns Creek area. I didn't go in the shop myself so I can't comment on the service. But I did try their teas to go. And I was very impressed after trying too many mid tea shops. I tried their classic Greatea milk tea and it was great. It had a great flavor and tasted very fresh. The boba was a great, chewy texture and not too sweet as well. I also tried a Mango Yakult drink which is like a fruity yogurt drink. It was very good as well and a great no-caffeine option. I can't have too much caffeine so these drinks are a great option. This is inside a plaza on the side. It has been open for many years and I have been meaning to try this place forever. But only got around to it recently. I would definitely be open to trying other flavors if I'm in the area. read more

First time I went here I got milk tea with 0% sugar and boba, but the boba came soaking in brown sugar and I thought the drink was really sweet. I decided to give it another try, again 0% sugar with sago this time since most boba places I've gone do not soak the sago in syrup. Again, my drink was incredibly sweet and I asked the worker to confirm it's 0 sugar and she said yes. She said that the sago might be the problem since it comes with syrup. I asked if I can get another drink without sago (which I paid extra for, but this time I'm not even expecting toppings inside) and she said they can't replace my drink, I would have to put in a new order. Both times I threw my drinks out. I'm incredibly disappointed. I paid $7-8 for the drinks each time, which is already overpriced in my opinion, but not having an opportunity to get a replacement drink I would enjoy is ludicrous. I don't know how anyone can drink 100% sugar and get boba/sago here without throwing up. At 0% sugar with the toppings is already so inedible. read more

I have driven by this location multiple times and I have truly been missing out until today! Food: SO MANY OPTIONS from fruit teas to various milk teas to waffle snacks. The pricing is very great for 16oz + 24 oz. We got the Greatea + bubbles and the classic milk tea + grass jelly + boba. The greatea milk tea was so good! Even with the 50% sweetness it was still very sweet (given the creamy added taste). Next time, I will not be adding any additional sugar. Boba was chewy and great! SERVICE: so attentive. The owner (?) and one of the workers were so kind and intentional in approaching everyone. It was nice to have 2 self serve machines. There is also a nice reward system. $1= 1 point. Top tier boba! Checked out Greatea after my boba connisseur of a friend said that this was her favorite spot. The hype matched the experience! Great tasting tea, perfect boba texture (soft and chewy), and great service. The menu is extensive and there are a handful of drinks that I'd like to try next. I got the Greatea w/ boba. Hidden gym in Johns creek. Its easy to miss as its tucked inside a complex. Really nice place to hangout with your friends. Plenty of seating inside. Lot of options Milk tea, Fruit tea, Slushies etc. They also serve few snacks. Milk substitutes avaliable for an additional charge. Service was a bit slow. But the teas were made fresh. I got the black sesame milk tea 75 sweet, less ice. Didn't like it as much as the taro milk tea I got last time. The black sesame flavor is not very strong and wasn't what I expected. Also would get 50 sweet instead of 75. Overall it wasn't bad, but would probably just stick with the taro milk tea next time. This location is smaller than the suwannee one. I almost missed this spot as it was in the corner of the plaza and slightly hidden with a very generic sign, but I'm glad I didn't! I was recommended to come here by a friend who knows her boba and I wasn't disappointed. They have a great selection of teas and even more awesome--tons of flavors of crystal boba. The Rose tie guan yin tea was really good, boba was chewy and cooked through...I couldn't find any fault. I got their house milk tea and a Yakulk Mango tea. Both were pretty good there is a kiosk to order the tea but it doesn't contain the full menu. They have another location in downtown Suwanee which is hard to park. Apparently, this tea shop has been opened for at least a decade. The closest boba shop to Greatea is Kung Fu Tea just because there are many similar choices. Cost is in line with shops around. There are 2-3 tables for you to study and use their Wi-Fi. This boba shop is located inside Ivy Fall Shopping Center so they get a lot of dance student, SAT prep center, and doreimi music student patronizing this shop. read more

Trying this new place for the first time and is not disappointed. It is a comforting place to sit and chat with friends for a bit as there are seats with outlets on the side. However there doesn't seem a trash can available or a restroom inside. There was a wide variety of drinks. Getting three drinks for a total of $22, the drinks were good but nothing amazing. They are just average milk tea drinks so if you just wanted a quick stop to grab a drink then this is still a really good place. I did not grab these items but they also offer food such as waffles and hotdogs if wanted. Their signature Greatea is just an average milk tea. The Taro milk tea does not have a strong taro flavor and is mainly tea. The Mango sago is very thick and not strong in flavor even though I got extra sweet. What do you expect... This is GREAT TEA (haha!). But truthfully, this is one of the greatest teas in the area. I love the tea that they brew for their drinks here, as well as the lovely ladies behind the counter that are always so sweet. My go-to order is always the oreo milk tea, which admittedly is their normal milk tea with whipped cream and oreo topping on top--HOWEVER, they know how to make it just right. I love the tea at its finest, and it's very sweet. I recommend lowering sweetness level if you do not have a big sweet tooth. The interior has some cozy chairs and good spot to catch up with friends. I have always loved Greatea--it is my favorite boba place in Atlanta!! I wanted to add on that I recently got married and was lucky enough to get to use Greatea as my "special bridal drink" on our bartending menu. They were so easy to work with! I must've called the poor girl at the store like 10 times (Natalia), but each time she answered and was so patient and helpful with each of my questions! And the tea arrived without a hitch, and all of our guests LOVED IT. Many hadn't heard of it before (since it's not really in metro Atlanta), but those who hadn't said it was their new favorite! Greatea is not the typical Taiwanese, Boba Franchise that went global and opened up locations in metro Atlanta. It's actually a local business owned by local business owners. hey use fresh ingredients in their tea. They get their teas from taiwan and try use fresh fruits for their fruit teas. They also have creams and custards you can add into your teas. To elaborate, their Creamy Milk Teas all come with some sort of cream or custard. I tried their Great Tea, which has some egg based cream/custard. You can see it smeared on the side of the cups (like how you can see the syrups in Hokkaido teas in other shops). That gives the tea a decadent, creamy texture. It's interesting. Their Taro Creamy Milk tea is delicious because they use fresh taro in it. It also comes with cream. Like other boba tea places, you can adjust your sweetness from 150% to 0%. Personally, 150% is ridiculous (I always get 0%. Also with the cream (and any other toppings), there is already sweetness in there). But if calories doesn't matter, and you have a massive sweet tooth, that's an option for you. For toppings, you have your standard toppings-boba, aloe jelly, grass, jelly, lychee jelly, and many others. If you want it, they probably have some sort of topping for it. If you don't like what they offer, you can build your own tea. Use whatever tea for your base, (oolong, black, buckwheat, etc), add whatever milk you want, whatever toppings you want, make it hot or cold, etc. The place is cute and small. It looks like an stereotypical, intimate boba tea shop. It's not a place to bring a huge group due to the space. When it gets popular, the line takes up most of the space inside the shop. The people seem nice and they make the teas fast. If you're in the area, the competition is fierce if you're craving boba tea. Great tea should be on the rotation in my opinion, at least to try their creamy milk teas. read more

Nice little bubble tea shop! I came right when they opened and they had pretty steady traffic coming in. The employee was super helpful with explaining which drink best suited my wants and I ended up with a classic with boba and it had creme and tasted like custard. Delicious!!! Really like this little local shop on the outskirts in Atlanta! It's kind of out of the way but extremely convenient if you're in the area and craving boba. They have a pretty extensive menu, lots of milk teas, cheese foam teas, fruit teas, a detox juice selection, and they've added waffles and ice cream. Everyone kept saying Greatea was the best! Then Sharetea and Tea Top came along - is it still the best now? I don't think so. But I did like the tea I ordered! Everyone kept recommending the Greatea, which they use condensed milk with. I ended up trying the Traditional Bubble Tea, which was very similar. I got the lightest sugar level, which made it hard to compare with others who ordered the Greatea at the regular sugar level. The tea is good. Nothing different from what I've tasted before. But it's definitely better than some of those new shops that have been popping up these days. There is pretty limited seating, relatively, so it may not be the place to sit around and hang out during peak hours. Rumours of my demise have been Greatea exaggerated, but there's no exaggeration when I say this is one of the better Boba spots in the ATL burbs. And when I say burbs I mean way, way far out in the distant burbitos. This is a really cool little place in the far distant northeast suburbs of Atlanta. I was very happy that they served me close to closing time and I enjoyed their products, even though they're a little bit too sweet. Adjust sugar levels if you agree. Service is really nice and I like the decor as well. Definitely one of the better options in the Atlanta area and there are plenty of options. Came here after lunch on Mother's Day. The place is small and cute. Limited indoor and outdoor seating. It was pretty busy and there was already a line when we arrived. After looking over the menu, we decided on: Naigai Uji Matcha Lychee Fruit Tea Naigai Peach Incense Oolong Eggette (2) Hot Mixed Fruit Tea Our total was $30+. They hand you a buzzer, which will go off once the order is ready. There was a 10-15 minute wait for the orders. I think there were only 1-2 people working and the same person who took the orders had to make the food and drinks himself. We didn't mind the wait and the wait was actually worth it. We really enjoyed the eggettes and the drinks. My favorite was the Naigai Uji Matcha with the milk foam. Mmm... so refreshing! I like that you can customize the sweetness. I am usually hesitant about getting the taro tea as most places use powder, but I read several reviews raving the real taro so I had to try it myself. I ordered 50% sugar and thought the drink was still quite sweet to my taste. The boba was a little softer in my opinion, but not so soft where it is gross. The taro tea itself was very tasty and the real pieces and mashed taro was just excellent. The gentlemen behind the counter was very friendly and gave good suggestions for the customer ahead of us. There were other teas that I was curious about and will try at a later time. Overall, cute decor + free wifi and was pretty quiet even though there were many customers inside. Delicious Boba tea! Highly recommend getting the taro which actually has bits of taro pieces in the tea making it extremely delicious and authentic. Their boba is the perfect consistency - soft and chewy. They also have the Naigai that I wasn't adventurous enough to try. It's apparently this cheesy, creamy, salty foam on top of the tea. Personally, I've only ever had sweet teas and was not sure about giving this salty tea a chance. Maybe next time. The tea here is kinda expensive but it's good! I had a passion fruit number with actual passion fruit pulp and seeds in it. The Oreo tea thing is more like a milkshake. They also have the cheese tea fad and apparently it's more savory but good. The shop itself is very small but there's plenty of parking. I wouldn't bring a lot of people here. They also put fruit in their hot tea. This small shop is located in Johns Creek and I am so glad I decided to give it a try as I would drive by it every day on my way home from work. This place does get pretty busy and it has limited seating. I always get the original Greatea - a black milk tea that is made with fresh milk and their signature special cream. This drink is extra creamy and rich - I always find it to be a special treat when I get it! I have never found any issue with my drinks and they have always come out perfectly for me.
