Heather sent me three really great reviewed contractors to speak to get ideas for some ADU work. All the contractors I spoke to were really nice and professional, which feels like it's super rare in construction! Thank you read more

Heather was great. She was referred by a friend who added an ADU. In the end, we decided to sell our home and move but I would've used her services if I went through with the project. read more

Prompt, responsive and most importantly effective. Highly recommend using Greatbuiltz when you need a contractor. They found me one quick and he and his team did a great job on my floor install. read more

Stephaine was the best. Even though we didn't go through with the remodel she was responsive with all phases of communication and giving us the best referrals. Enjoyed talking with the builder she had for us- knowledgeable and answered all questions. read more

We did a substantial addition and remodel to our home, adding nearly 500sqft and redoing the kitchen and adding a new bathroom/closet to one of the bedrooms, while pushing out some of the exterior walls. We were very wary going into the project because of the scope and amount of changes to the existing house. Stephanie and GreatBuildz gave us a few great leads for general contractors that matched our desires and needs to do both the design and build, and they all seemed quite good. We are very happy with the one we selected and with how the project turned out, and we felt in good hands the entire way. Things stayed almost entirely on schedule and on budget, +/- maybe 10%, which we were very happy with, especially compared to some stories from some friends and colleagues for even less-complicated projects. read more

Prompt responses and overall very helpful. I had reached out to them for the BidAI tool.

Great Buildz is a great company and Stephanie is amazing!! Thank you for all your assistance, for hearing me out and replying to my email and calls right away. You definitely helped me so much by giving me so much options for GC. You have somehow empowered me, if you know what I mean :) and you are incredibly responsive and so helpful with me. Thank you Stephanie! This company is highly recommended ! read more

Great service! Got me 3 bids that were all reasonable and significantly lower than several I got from 5 star contractors on Yelp. Used one of their suggested contractors and were very satisfied with their work and personal attention to the project. The GreatBuildz team keeps in contact with you throughout the project to make sure you're happy with the work and that everything is going smoothly. Highly recommend this service!!! read more

Great buildz is an excellent company that helps you with an arduous process. I've had bad experiences working with subcontractors who were very sloppy with the quoting process and scheduling and finished work in the expected time. Great buildz made the whole process simple using their network. They quickly linked me up with 3 licensed contractors, which helped me decide. Very fortunate that I ran into Greatbuildz. read more

Easily and quickly available when I had questions or needed help. Informative. Stephanie was wonderful!

Greatbuildz is a great company! We heard about them from a podcast and they act as intermediaries for a client and the contractor. Stephanie was incredibly responsive and was able to get me 3 bids for my project with 3 different price ranges within one week of contacting them. As this was the first project for my wife and I, Stephanie really helped us learn the process as well as how to interact with the contractors. I can't recommend them enough. Renovations are incredibly intimidating and Stephanie helped my wife and I find the perfect contractor! read more

Stephanie was super helpful and responsive!! She helped source a reliable painter and was a great communicator.

Stephanie provided outstanding customer service. She was not only professional, but friendly and kind. The options that she found for me were great. I would use the service again and would strongly recommend the company for all degrees of projects, from small to large scale ones. read more

Stephanie at Great Buildz was incredibly responsive, helpful and professional and introduced me to 3 fantastic contractor options immediately. I got quotes from them all, in my price range and Stephanie helped walk me through the process. Full disclosure I did not end up going with one of their contractors only because of a variety of personal connections to the one I chose but I was so impressed and happy with the service they provided that I'm taking the time to write this view. I will recommend this service to people and will contact them in future if I need to look for contractors. It adds another layer if accountability in what is a very challenging undertaking. read more

Thanks to GreatBuildz, especially Stephanie Lovell, for your help with finding a quality ADU contractor. Our finished product has exceeded our expectations. Stephanie's follow up and communication was exceptional. Being able to offer us three contractors from which to choose was very helpful and gave us the confidence in choosing our final selection. Thank you GreatBuildz, thank you Stephanie! read more

I found GreatBuildz when I was searching for a reliable ADU contractor. Stephanie reached out and connected me with three contractors who all submitted bids on the project. I proceeded with one of the contractors to acquire the necessary drawings and permits, but decided to collect a few additional bids for the construction part of the project. Stephanie brought together another group of contractors - some repeat and some new, which worked well with the drawings and permits now already finalized - and a decision on the builder was made. The project moved along well and was finally completed this past summer. The most valuable thing about working with GreatBuildz is the constant support and check-ins that the team provides. At no point did I feel alone with the contractor - rather, you always have an impartial party to discuss the project, double-check on contractor practices, and spot any potential hiccups early on. I find this especially valuable with large construction projects, such as ADUs, and/or if you don't have extensive experience in commissioning such projects or knowledge about general contractor practices. Stephanie is an especially patient, communicative, empathetic, and truly an outstanding partner to have beside on any construction project. Jon from GreatBuildz also offered great and knowledgeable support along the way. Whenever it'll be time for my next project, I will contact GreatBuildz first. I truly recommend their service and would encourage anyone to give them a try. Not only will they provide multiple bids from vetted contractors to alleviate your research efforts, but they will walk you through the entire construction process, are always available for questions, and are ready hold any hands needed to be held until the project is finished! Highly recommended. read more

This is a review solely for a complimentary consultation call I had with Stephanie at GreatBuildz. We are absolutely new to the world of building and ADUs and thanks to the call with her, we have a better understanding of how things are structured in world of architects and contractors/builders. Stephanie answered all my questions with patience, professionalism, kindness and she was SO helpful in detangling what is a murky process for a beginner. She followed up with some resources in an email that has led us to next steps. This level of service is amazing and helps us build trust in the services GreatBuildz may offer. Hopefully when we get to the stage of needing a contractor, we can be in touch again. read more

I want to start this review by saying that I didn't end up going with a contractor from Greatbuildz. I didn't use one because I ended up finding another contractor. My financing was very strict and one of the contractors didn't pass their checklist unfortunately. During this process Stephanie was a rockstar. She handled the situation so well that I decided to recommend them to a friend of mine. If/when I do another project I will definitely reach out to them. read more

We highly recommend giving Great Buildz a call if you are planning any type of home renovation. They are very knowledgeable about all the details involved in various projects and helpful in obtaining multiple construction bids. We felt much more confident about moving forward with our project after working with them. Stephanie was extremely helpful in helping us to navigate our way through this project. read more

I was referred to GreatBuildz from an architectural firm that I worked with to create plans for an ADU project. As I needed to find a general contractor to complete the construction, GreatBuildz sent me pre-screened GCs to interview and bid the job. Although all 3 were viable candidate contractors, I made my decision, and they didn't disappoint! The project involved converting a bonus room into an ADU (in an existing multi-tenant) building. This included a full kitchen, bath and laundry in a smaller space. The contractor that GreatBuildz referred was knowledgeable and capable. Their estimates were accurate, and they kept to the established project timeline. I am a very busy professional, so I needed a GC that could be relied upon to handle the job efficiently and effectively. GreatBuildz saved me a considerable amount of time and helped me avoid the nightmare stories that you sometimes hear about when dealing with contractors. Thank you Stephanie and GreatBuildz! read more

See all

We had a top-notch experience with GreatBuildz, even though we did not ultimately go with one of their preferred contractors. Stephanie, our client success rep, was extremely attentive, great with communication, and listened to our needs throughout the process. We met with 4 contractors through their company and all of them seemed extremely competent and professional. GreatBuildz also delivered on our budget considerations. We really liked the first 3 contractors they introduced us to, but unfortunately, they came in above our budget. The 4th contractor came in right on budget, but we just didn't feel we were the right match. As a realtor, I will definitely recommend GreatBuildz to my real estate clients in the future! read more

Stephanie was very help with helping me obtain bids and providing resources during my information gathering stage. Thanks for your help

We had a great experience working with GreatBuildz, even though we did not ultimately go with one of their preferred contractors. With that said, I would highly recommend any homeowner to talk to GreatBuildz since they can de-mystify the contractor selection process. The contractors they referred to were also very good, provided detailed estimates and spent time answering our queries. Both Stephanie and Jon were very hands on throughout from explaining the overall process to helping facilitate our queries. GreatBuildz is a great service and I would recommend them to homeowners looking for great contractors! read more

So far we're glad we connected with GreatBuildz to find a contractor to work on our project. They quickly connected us with 3-4 contractors in our price range and who had experience with the type of project we were hoping to complete. Appointments were set up quickly and we were able to establish a contract and get things rolling. Heather has also been great at checking in on the status of our project and allowing us to provide feedback on the contractor and their services as a form of support. Definitely would use them again to find a good fit for our next project. read more

This review is long overdue. I can't say enough good things about Stephanie as well as Jon. We made the mistake of not going with Great Buildz initially, because I only found out about their incredible business once we started having problems with our original contractors. Unfortunately, we had and are still having a terrible experience with the contractors we chose to complete our ADU. And while my family and I were in the thick of that problem, in true crisis mode - Stephanie and Jon could not have been more empathetic and resourceful. What company would go above and beyond for people they have never met / won't profit from? Great Buildz. I honestly can't stress enough how truly knowledgeable and kind this team is. I spoke with them several times when I had questions and concerns about our ADU, and they did such an outstanding job of providing insight and resources for us during a very difficult and stressful few months. I wish that we had a time machine to go back and do business with Stephanie and Jon instead of the contractors we ended up going with - because one thing we have learned throughout this whole experience is that it is SO incredibly difficult to find a contractor who's trustworthy. Having worked in customer service myself for over 10 years, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that these people are the most emotionally intelligent, lovely, and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of communicating with. We will undoubtedly be utilizing Great Buildz services whenever we have a contracting need in the future, and I have already recommended them to several close friends and family members. Keep up the amazing work Stephanie and Jon - we need people like you in this world!!!! My family and I are forever grateful for Great Buildz. read more

GreatBuildz is such a great service-oriented company. I recently purchased my first home, and I was so overwhelmed with the process of hiring contractors. I really did not know where to start and who to reach out to. Stephanie was a breeze to work with and she was so communicative. We ended up using one of the companies they put us in touch with, and we couldn't be happier with our experience so far! read more

GreatBuildz was GREAT! They linked me with two contractors after an arduous search in the summer/fall 2021 for an ADU contractor. We selected one of them and proceeded to have a smooth construction process for our garage conversion. GreatBuildz checked in periodically, offered to troubleshoot, and then work with us to take some photographs at the end. Cheers! read more

Stephanie Lovell from GreatBuildz reached out to me about an ADU project I was working on. She helped connect me with a few contractors and get bids. While I ended up going with a contractor I found on my own, Stephanie was helpful throughout the whole project. In hindsight, I wish I had made a better connection with one of her contractors because I would have loved to have continued working with her. Even though I didn't go with one of her contractors, she kept in touch with me throughout the whole project and continued to remind me I could use her as a resource. She has been nothing but helpful and I hope I have an opportunity to work with GreatBuildz and Stephanie in the future. read more

They made referrals to a few very good contractors for my ADU project. Very easy to work with.

I initially contacted the company to obtain basic information about general contractors for an ADU Garage Conversion. I had no idea where to start, but after speaking with Stephanie, she provided me with in-depth information on the general process and suggested where to look to get specific information for the building for my city. I must say that the individuals at GreatBuildz take an interest in each person they speak with and go above and beyond the norm to provide valuable information for various aspects of the project. They are professionals in what they do and I highly recommend contacting GreatBuildz for any of your general contractor needs! read more

Ok. Time for a glowing review. Do yourself a very big favor and get in touch with GreatBuildz if you are looking for a contractor. Heather and Stephanie are an absolute joy to work with and the whole service does nothing but benefit the customer. It's free and they connect you with trusted, experienced contractors. We didn't end up using their contractors for no other reason than the contractor we hired came through our real estate agent who has used him on many jobs. Had that not been the case we would have gone with one of the contractors they recommended. The contractors they brought in were price competitive, provided detailed estimates quickly and were extremely polite, helpful and informative on the phone. The notes that Heather and Stephanie took for the job in order to make sure we received accurate quotes from the contractors were extremely thorough, detailed and streamlined the whole bidding process. I literally can't say nice enough things about them. Using a different contractor was made so difficult because I wanted to work with Heather and Stephanie so much. Quite simply. They are complete rock stars. read more
