Culver's honestly caught me completely off guard. We tried it when we went to Houston for the…read morerodeo, and that food was fire. I wasn't expecting it to hit the way it did, but everything was fresh, hot, and actually really good. Food: Everything tasted way better than expected. The food had that fresh-made feel instead of tasting overly fast-food-ish. You can tell they actually care about quality, and it definitely stood out. Whatever we ordered was hitting from the first bite. Service: Service was smooth and friendly with no problems at all. The staff kept things moving, and the food came out quick. Ambiance: The place was clean, comfortable, and had a good overall atmosphere. It felt easygoing and made for a good stop while we were out in Houston for the rodeo. Overall: Culver's definitely surprised me in the best way possible. That place was fire, and I'll absolutely be running that back again next time I get the chance lol.

I'd been waiting 5 years to try the walleye (every Lent I'd been missing it as this is almost an hour drive each way) and it did not disappoint! The cheese curds were good but I do prefer Freddy's version of them. The coleslaw was amazing as was the plentiful cups of tartar and cocktail sauce. I love that you get a little dinner roll with butter and that they packaged the cold items separately. Their own brand of root beer was delicious. They didn't miss a thing. Napkins, receipt, utensils, separate bags. Check, check, check and check! Bathrooms were well stocked and clean and smelled good! On our way out someone was even washing the windows. What a great location! Worth the trip!

We ordered the kings Choice meal and the beans were lukewarm and the chicken pieces were Cornish hen size and not as hot as previously. Opened in 1969 by Percy and Sallie Creuzot, this Frenchy's Chicken restaurant in Humble Texas is…read moreone of nine locations throughout the Houston metro area. I read about it as Beyonce's favorite chicken restaurant (original location), and someplace she tried to stop in for chicken and biscuits when visiting her hometown. Since I needed to be at the airport a little after lunch on a Monday, I asked my brother if we could stop at the nearest location, and he agreed. This location is co-situated with a gas station, in perhaps not the nicest part of town. It is set-up like a typical fast food chicken shop: you get in line to peruse the menu on top, get to the front of line and order. There weren't any specials or coupons that I could see online, so placed a simple 16 piece family order (16 pieces of mixed chicken, 3 large sides, and 8 biscuits) for $44.99. They gave us some water glasses, which we could refill at the self-serve soda machine in the front. It did take a while for the order to be ready, and was prepared to-go. It was simple enough to find a seat in one of the sit down booths and dig in. As soon as I saw the chicken, I knew it was going to be good. I focused on eating the drumsticks and thighs...moist meat, great breading, not spicy at all. It reminded me of how bad the chicken I had last at a famous place in LA. Even though this is a satellite location, far away from the original...they seem to be keeping the consistency right. I chose to get corn bread instead of biscuits, and it was good...small enough to be the right size. It would have been good with the honey butter. The sides were good, but the portions were really small, especially compared to their competitors. The cajun gravy was put on top of the good mashed potatoes. The dirty rice was OK. I thought the red beans was good, overcooked to make it mushy and had some nice sausage slices for meatiness. I just wish there was more of it....not balanced with how much chicken and bread was given. Just meant I had more chicken...ended up eating 3 of the drumsticks, 1 of the wings, and two of the thighs just by myself. As expected, it reminded me of Popeye's (chicken and sides) in a very good way.
