Why am I a glutton for punishment? I keep going back to this place hoping for a different result. Isn't that the same as insanity? Lol I DoorDashed shrimp fried rice. Was not cheap. Zero flavor. Around 6 peas and 6 diced carrots. No egg to be found. SALAD shrimp. You heard me correctly. SALAD shrimp. This is by far the worst shrimp fried rice I've ever had. Worst Chinese Food I've ever had. In a word, tasteless. Too bad; I'm only 2 minutes from this hole in the wall.

First time eating at this restaurant / ordered ahead asking questions about menu and flavors of foods - order mei fun beef for my wife and beef pad thai for myself - with 2 egg rolls - mei Fun was just plain noodles with some egg, carrots, cabbage and beef and had no flavor whatsoever - beef was rubbery which was really weird - pad thai was terrible also - beef also rubbery and the eggs in it were burnt and brown - icing on the cake was the two supposed pork egg rolls that I'm fact we're thai spring rolls that were rolled in an egg roll wrapper and deep fried - nothing but cabbage and pepper - no carrots and no pork at all - $34.40 to throw entire meal in Trash - really should be zero stars won't return and as far as previous reviews of the place they must be from people who know nothing about Chinese or Thai food. read more

Definitely would NOT recommend anyone to visit this or place a to-go order. My son phoned in a to-go order of beef & broccoli with noodles and when he arrived to pick his order up his total was over $25 dollars!!! He explained to the lady that his order was for only one meal and that he did NOT order the bag of food she was insisting he pay for. When he told her that wasn't his order and wasn't going to pay the $25 she threatens to call the police. As the mother of this 16 yr old I am applaud at how rude and the threatening comments made to my son. To treat my child this way because THEY got it WRONG absolutely makes my blood boil!!! This is my second and last time eating at this restaurant under their new management. The old management had larger shrimp portions and the egg drop soup was thick and delicious. Been a customer for many years under old management. Now, the shrimp has less portions and so much smaller, especially in their shrimp fried rice and Singapore Mei Fun, and egg drop soup is now watered down with hardly any taste. Very disappointed and no more of my business. Fixing to go and get my money back. read more

This has got to be the absolute worse Chinese restaurant EVER!! Went here for lunch today and ordered the House LoMein. From long to short, the dish was way too salty plus, the shrimp tasted spoiled. I asked nicely to replace my order with another dish. Unbelievably, the waitress informed me that I'd be charged $2 to do so?! What the heck?! Is it fair to charge your customers to replace a dish that is unsatisfactory? I couldn't believe what I was being told. Next, the "cook/manager" came to the table to argue with me about the quality and taste of the food. "Dude, there's no argument. I am the customer and I don't care for what you've served me! I don't want anything for free, I just want something that is fit to eat!" After "arguing" with this dimwit, I decided that I didn't want to eat anything else from this horrible excuse of a restaurant. So, I asked for them to remove my order from the check and I'd just pay for the other items that I'd eaten that were included with the lunch combo (soup & extra egg roll). So, after charging me for each item a la carte style, my total came out to be MORE than the discounted lunch combo itself!! As a paying customer I felt defeated (and hungry) so, I payed and just left. As a first time patron of this establishment I warn everyone: DO NOT EAT HERE!! From what I was told by other customers, things have really changed at this restaurant as of late. The Management seems to be different and the overall food quality has really suffered. This is where I choose to go for American style Chinese food in the "East of Birmingham" area. I usually skip the buffet (which was good the one time I ate it) and everything is made to order. If we get take out it will be steaming hot long after we get back home. My 2 favorites are the Shrimp Lo Mein and the Shrimp Pad Thai. The owners and staff are always friendly and I can not wait to eat lunch or supper there again! read more

Needless to say, this area has been disappointment after disappointment when it comes to Chinese food. We heard these folks were under new management and decided to give it a shot, very glad we did. Service for pickup was extremely fast which is usually not a good sign, not in this case. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted fantastic. A lot of Chinese restaurants really lack in providing decent tasting fried foods (egg rolls, wontons, rangoon) due to using overused oil. Not Great Wall, both times we have ordered from here, you could plainly tell that new, fresh oil was used and it makes all the difference. My only issue would be with the second time we called. The person taking the order turned it into a broken, ten minute conversation due to her inability to speak conversational English. I understand that if I want authentic Chinese food, it will be made by someone of Chinese decent but I also expect not to struggle to patronize your establishment. read more
