I have to agree with the last review this place absolutely stinks place has a Virgin Health Centre in it and for some reason cannot contain the stench of old sweat. The place itself is huge and orange Wednesdays are a godsend but I just cant get past the horrible smell, its just not what I want when I am trying to relax after a hard week at work thanks.

A huge entertainment centre with so much potential with its close proximity to Deansgate. Though its lacks in atmosphere unfortunately, It's a beautiful building though and its home to the multi screen AMC cinema and Almost Famous Burger restaurant and Virgin Gyms and thats about it, if you want a fun place go to the Printworks instead.

A very large cinema in Manchester city centre, this cinema was previously operated by ODEON, until…read morethey were forced to sell the cinema to rivals, VUE, who now operate the cinema. This location is HUGE - 23 screens, 4,723 seats, and one of the largest IMAX screens in Europe, The cinema is over multiple floors, and the layout can be a little confusing, the staff seem friendly enough and on guard to help. If you require lift access, you will require a staff member to help you with this as they are NOT customer operated. Escalators are available without the help of a staff member. There are lots of screens to pick up and purchase tickets, and there is normally at least one person on the manned desks if you want to use as little technology as possible to get your tickets. There are often cheaper screenings, costing around £4.99 per person, so it is reasonable and affordable, combined with the many offers available from many third-party companies including banks and insurance companies, who offer discounted cinema tickets. Snacks are expensive, but what cinema doesn't charge an arm and a leg for the slightest bite to eat? Not much has changed since the ODEON days, the main difference is the branding around the cinema, some parts could do with a refurb but still a nice, large cinema in a great central city location. 4*

The staff are equipped with a knowledge of film and an enthusiasm for the art of cinema. I grab a couch, remove my footwear and use the cushions to get comfy. An alcohol-free G&T is discretely served to my seat-side table. Films are often personally announced just ahead of the Kaplinsky certificate and after the trailers. In Screen 1 the curtain draws and renounces and the lights go up, just at this moment, like the old days. My membership gets me a free supper for Throwback on Sundays (modern classics) and the lounge areas between the screens are worthy of experiencing for dining even if you're not up for a movie. Classic Modernist furnishings align to the Bauhaus movement / The International Style and serve to complement the building's architecture and history. Clean lines. Stylised neon. Decadent minimalism. Quality to detail. Lush textures. Red lights and mirrors. A relaxing atmosphere with wifi. There's a content partnership with AppleTV+ so you get exclusives, simultaneous releases and even opportunities to watch the pilot episode of a new small-screen series right here on the big one. The staff are professional, laid back and expedient. They have the sophistry to serve you when you require serving or leave you be if you want that. Jack stands out for his other-level Customer Service delivery which ALWAYS belies a genuine commitment to making your experience the very best. And I've worked in New York, New York so I know what first rate CS looks and feels like. There's a smart park with benches out back (there are two entrance/exits). St John's square is like Soho Square in the West End, London innterms of size and feel. I often sit there watching the footy on my phone or reading if I arrive early. It's peaceful and smart at this end of town. The Everyman smartphone app is the clincher. Book your seat, save to apple wallet, add to calendar for a reminder and often, as you leave the venue, it connects through to Apple Music and plays you the theme tune to what you just watched as you leave the building right into your airpods. Not bad! Check it out but don't tell everyone.

In fact this does seem to be the new way of doing things by the council - let's build things on brown field sites and aim to create a new urban hub around it. With very little passing traffic, it's going to take a while to really become a mainstream destination but it is very easily reached with Deansgate and Oxford Road stations around 5 mins walk. On this occasion I was looking for somewhere to work for a few hours and sat upstairs in their cafe bar grabbing a couple of flat whites and a bacon bap . Not bad all round and pretty quiet on a Monday morning. It did get much busier at lunch time so it's good to see peeps really enjoying this offering! You can sit outside on deck chairs and tables and there's a cafe downstairs just selling drinks and cake.

It is located in a large, old building which does look good in the city centre, the inside is a little dark but that's part of the quirk behind The Printworks. There's always a large security presence, probably down to the bars/nightlife atmosphere here, with multiple entrances. It is across the way from Manchester Arndale and Victoria Station, so it can get pretty busy! It is a shame to see many businesses close here during the years, they have tried their best to re-occupy the vacant units to the point where it doesn't feel empty. 4*

Pros Wasabi, Wagamama, Nando's, great cinema, Henry J Beans and Hard Rock Café for junk food and cocktails, Papa G's, a little fish and chip shop, a newsagent that's open until stupidly late Cons Hen parties, Waxy O' Connors at the weekends, Opus, hen parties, Opus, Pure, Café Rouge, shaven-headed oiks in shiny shirts, hen parties, Opus, over-zealous security guards, coming out of the cinema sober when everyone around you is drunk, Opus. The Printworks looks impressive, we can't deny it. It's interestingly put together, if a little Trafford Centre-esque fake. It's meant to be a Mecca of entertainment but the fact that so many of its clientele are less than discerning kind of puts a dampener on it for me, so I pretty much duck, dive in, get the stuff out of it that I want and ignore everything else. I adore the cinema here and always feel weird going to any other one so I have to keep coming back. At least with Wagamama you don't actually have to enter the Printworks itself to pull up a bench and slurp some nice noodles. And I've only just realised that Becca's review matches mine exactly - I promise I wrote this before I read it. Great minds!

A mass has been found on the left side of my brain and is spreading. I have had treatment, but at this point I have been told its a life limiting condition. I contacted to cancel my tickets, because well, and I can use that money now to help with home costs. They replied to me that I needed to get them proof that I was 'not going to be here'. They then said that they can swap my tickets for another performance so I don't get to miss it. I am in Derby. They want me to go to London to get a sick note from my surgeon, or to download a form from ATG and then send it to my busy surgeon, get him to fill it out and send it back to me to prove it. As a last ditch attempt, the Palace Theatre Box Office was approached, and they turned around and said that if I am unwilling to follow the process with ATG, there is nothing they can do. Or alternatively I could sell my tickets on Twickets, because I am obviously well enough for that! I.am absolutely flabbergasted. Sickened. Disgusting service. This is the first review, but my family are going to leave a review on every review site, all media sites. They have the transcripts of the conversation. Pros: Many, many amazing shows passing through The building itself The history The stage Location Cloak room Concession prices on tickets Merchandise stall for those that want a souvenir Cons: Can be very noisy during a show (can hear the dryers from the toilets, mobile phone interference affecting the speakers, ushers don't really tell noisy customers off) Limited leg room Certain areas have very restricted views e.g. mid/back of the stalls Expensive drinks and snacks Tickets can be overpriced I'm an avid theatre goer and have seen so many classics here, I will not stop going but I think things needs to be tightened up. Following property investment and expansion Hulme now not only looks better but is a more humane environment for any individual to exist in. I can actually become quite emotional writing about this place because within its walls, creativity is developed and young minds are inspired. This is a multi- art form venue which allows Arts Council funded residencies the opportunity to hold classes in disciplines such as street dance, drama, comedy and Caribbean dance. Community legends like Crystallize and Visceral educate 11-19 year olds on all factors of the music business and workshops are run which motivate our youngsters.
