    Chocolate and apple bunt cake

It is so nice to return to Manchester to discover the wonder that is HOME. It is quite the impressive building - they have really done a good job, even though we all still mourn the loss of the Corner House. I did expect them to change the food menu a little more but most of the same items are still there. I had lunch at the upstairs restaurant with two female family members and we all had the soup. Big portions of tasty carrot and coriander soup were very well received on a cold Manchester day. I'll definitely be coming back to try some of their cake.

HOME! A brand new theatre complex in Manchester

HOME is a brand spanking new theatre/cinema/restaurant all in the same building right in the centre of the city centre of Manchester, its absolutely brand new and the welcoming open space of the box office and the ground floor buzzing bar. On the first floor you have a really cool open spaced restaurant/bar area with striking huge glass windows, this place is so cool and i haven't even mentioned the amazing theatre inside it! There are two auditoriums one large one and then a smaller one, we had visited the larger one and its very intimate. I had a look around each level and all offered a fantastic view of the stage. They also have a cinema on the top floor! all the staff are really friendly and its a very welcoming addition to the theatre scene in Manchester.

A+ for ambience (however I didn't partake in any of the arts/theatre bit, simply came to work during the day in the cafe - will update this review when I do so). I absolutely love the interior of this building, HOME has quite an eye for design. Large, linear planks of wood mixed with the apparent yet subtle use of concrete. Very cool! There are three levels, all with their own respective cafe which I loved because it didn't overcrowd the ground cafe. I had a delicious cappuccino, listened to some funky great jams, and worked on a few school projects for 3-4 hours. It was very comfortable and you didn't feel pressured staying there for an extended period of time. This is definitely the place to come for catching up with a friend, or simply to have an afternoon tea/coffee.

Reviewing "The Reel Deal" option, which is £15 for a pizza, drink and a movie. My first visit to the new "Cornerhouse", now that it is HOME. Enjoyed this deal at the previous "home" and the pizza's were always good, and they don't disappoint here either ! With your pizza, you can have a glass of house red or white wine, soft drink or a lager. The restaurant area is really nice and spacious and with a lovely view over the new Tony Wilson Place as the sun went down on a early/mid-Monday evening. Service was good and we just had to show our combined meal/cinema tickets for the options available on "The Reel Deal". I would happily return to check out the restaurant and bar areas or visiting the facilities that are available.

Searching for a good Sunday roast on a student budget, we found Home. They didn't disappoint my taste buds with their beautiful leg of lamb. The new building is modern and artistic creating a great atmosphere for an evening meal.

Short rib beef ragu (wear a bib though as that sauce will splash!)

Weirdly this is never my first choice/first place that comes to mind for food, yet every time I get here I think it's great and have no idea why not. I have been on a few occasions, one as a large group for drinks and food and again as a table of 2 looking for food before a gig at nearby Gorilla. Both times have seen excellent service, atmosphere and food. They quickly accommodated a last minute large party of 10 on a Saturday with no fuss and the service did not suffer. More recently we were reminded of Home from the hostess at Gorilla as the were already full. We arrived and were acknowledged and informed by a very welcoming host that they had a table in a few minutes. Unfortunately the table was a little wobbly and despite our best endeavours to try to stabilise it we were reseated quickly, no fuss and drinks and food orders taken. Staff are incredibly friendly but not to the detriment of efficiency. They are set up for prompt service for people awaiting shows & films and thankfully they have a menu that allows this with out any compromise on the quality. The short rib beef ragu is just the thing right amount of heart warming food to fill your belly. The toasted almonds on the olives are pure genius. Please remind to come again!

This location is HUGE - 23 screens, 4,723 seats, and one of the largest IMAX screens in Europe, The cinema is over multiple floors, and the layout can be a little confusing, the staff seem friendly enough and on guard to help. If you require lift access, you will require a staff member to help you with this as they are NOT customer operated. Escalators are available without the help of a staff member. There are lots of screens to pick up and purchase tickets, and there is normally at least one person on the manned desks if you want to use as little technology as possible to get your tickets. There are often cheaper screenings, costing around £4.99 per person, so it is reasonable and affordable, combined with the many offers available from many third-party companies including banks and insurance companies, who offer discounted cinema tickets. Snacks are expensive, but what cinema doesn't charge an arm and a leg for the slightest bite to eat? Not much has changed since the ODEON days, the main difference is the branding around the cinema, some parts could do with a refurb but still a nice, large cinema in a great central city location. 4*

The staff are equipped with a knowledge of film and an enthusiasm for the art of cinema. I grab a couch, remove my footwear and use the cushions to get comfy. An alcohol-free G&T is discretely served to my seat-side table. Films are often personally announced just ahead of the Kaplinsky certificate and after the trailers. In Screen 1 the curtain draws and renounces and the lights go up, just at this moment, like the old days. My membership gets me a free supper for Throwback on Sundays (modern classics) and the lounge areas between the screens are worthy of experiencing for dining even if you're not up for a movie. Classic Modernist furnishings align to the Bauhaus movement / The International Style and serve to complement the building's architecture and history. Clean lines. Stylised neon. Decadent minimalism. Quality to detail. Lush textures. Red lights and mirrors. A relaxing atmosphere with wifi. There's a content partnership with AppleTV+ so you get exclusives, simultaneous releases and even opportunities to watch the pilot episode of a new small-screen series right here on the big one. The staff are professional, laid back and expedient. They have the sophistry to serve you when you require serving or leave you be if you want that. Jack stands out for his other-level Customer Service delivery which ALWAYS belies a genuine commitment to making your experience the very best. And I've worked in New York, New York so I know what first rate CS looks and feels like. There's a smart park with benches out back (there are two entrance/exits). St John's square is like Soho Square in the West End, London innterms of size and feel. I often sit there watching the footy on my phone or reading if I arrive early. It's peaceful and smart at this end of town. The Everyman smartphone app is the clincher. Book your seat, save to apple wallet, add to calendar for a reminder and often, as you leave the venue, it connects through to Apple Music and plays you the theme tune to what you just watched as you leave the building right into your airpods. Not bad! Check it out but don't tell everyone.

It is located in a large, old building which does look good in the city centre, the inside is a little dark but that's part of the quirk behind The Printworks. There's always a large security presence, probably down to the bars/nightlife atmosphere here, with multiple entrances. It is across the way from Manchester Arndale and Victoria Station, so it can get pretty busy! It is a shame to see many businesses close here during the years, they have tried their best to re-occupy the vacant units to the point where it doesn't feel empty. 4*

The Printworks looks impressive, we can't deny it. It's interestingly put together, if a little Trafford Centre-esque fake. It's meant to be a Mecca of entertainment but the fact that so many of its clientele are less than discerning kind of puts a dampener on it for me, so I pretty much duck, dive in, get the stuff out of it that I want and ignore everything else. I adore the cinema here and always feel weird going to any other one so I have to keep coming back. At least with Wagamama you don't actually have to enter the Printworks itself to pull up a bench and slurp some nice noodles. And I've only just realised that Becca's review matches mine exactly - I promise I wrote this before I read it. Great minds!

They want me to go to London to get a sick note from my surgeon, or to download a form from ATG and then send it to my busy surgeon, get him to fill it out and send it back to me to prove it. As a last ditch attempt, the Palace Theatre Box Office was approached, and they turned around and said that if I am unwilling to follow the process with ATG, there is nothing they can do.
