I don't usually leave reviews but had to after my experience with Great Lakes Garage Doors. Very friendly, super reliable, reasonable prices, and excellent work! My garage broke and wouldn't close on a Thursday night, someone was at my house first thing Saturday morning. They fixed and replaced several different parts quickly and were kind enough to look at my small garage (which wasn't broken). We had a cable come off of one of the pulleys on our garage door. The door became completely jammed and was coming off of the tracks. This was around dinner time on Christmas Day. I received replies to my messages on Christmas day and service was scheduled for the next day. The tech, Abel, did an outstanding job and repaired our door for a very reasonable price. He also adjusted & lubed everything while he was here. He was on time, courteous, and very professional. We are very happy with the service. read more

Very satisfied customer here. Called 8pm on a Friday night after hitting garage door with our car. They were at our house promptly the next morning. After I talked to their customer service to explain everything and set up appointment, Joe the service tech called me back Friday night just to go over any questions I might have. Very impressive. Our garage broke a cable at 4pm on a Saturday between Christmas and New Years. Called 2 different local companies and had no response and 1 said it would be several days. Called Great Lake Garage Door who answered immediately and had a tech out in less than 2 hours on a Saturday night. Abel shows up after a text with the arrival window and fixed the issue in short order after explaining the cost. Very pleased with the response and the service. Thank you! read more

I am only rating 1 star because i cannot rate anything less. Originally found this company on Offer Up, and they came out and we had them install a new garage door and garage door opener, they didn't complete the work even though i paid them in full and said they would come back to add the mold around the door. Its been a year of us trying to contact them, however, they never returned our phone calls. So we had to call another company to come out, and found out that Great Lakes Garage Door Services installed the garage door opener incorrectly which caused our garage door to have issues opening and closing it, which also caused a spring to snap and it turns out they never replaced any of the springs(kept the old ones in). We finally spoke to Abel today, who stated he doesn't work in the Oswego area anymore, and would send me the contact info for the person who does but he never sent the info. I even sent a follow up text to Abel to remind him to send the info and AGAIN was Ignored. This company is very unprofessional. read more

On a Friday afternoon, our power went out and my husband tried to manually raise our garage door. It got off the track and wasn't able to be fixed by my kind- handy husband. Great Lakes said they'd be out an an hour to fix it. The technician fixed it right up and while he was there we decided it was time to upgrade our garage door to something new. (It was over 50 years old and falling apart). We ordered a new door and within a few weeks our door was in and the technicians did a great job installing it. It looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. Their prices are super reasonable and the technicians are very knowledgable. We were impressed that they were out at our house past the normal 9-5 hours. read more

Great Lakes Garage Door Services really helped us out today! I called them at 9:30am because our garage door spring snapped, and my wife's car was being held hostage in the garage (being that she works in the am M-F, this was a big problem). They came out same day and accommodated an evening call request. Our tech's name was Joe and he came out at 7pm (on time) and quickly assessed the issues and explained what he was going to do, and approximately how long it would take. As stated, he got it fixed in just over an hour and gave me a recap of what he fixed and adjusted. He greased the bearings and the tracks, fixed one of the cables that had let loose, and changed out both springs on our 2 car garage door. He also adjusted the track run settings and tightened the chain. I am more than happy with the service I received. I hope someone over at Great Lakes is reading these commentaries because they have an outstanding employee with Joe. He is awesome. I work in a similar industry and I know how hard it is to find someone dedicated who works hard and shows they care. Thanks guys! read more
