Usually, this is a nice place to go get my sleeping pills, paper towels, napkins, etc but not right…read morenow that is for sure. Talk about rude to the extreme!! This time, my husband and I were going to get a plug for the cellphone. Come to find out, the thing I actually needed was just an extension cord which was only $5 on Amazon but hindsight is 20/20!! That wasn't their fault, what was their fault is how they treat their customers even during a crisis!! This white woman who I believe was a customer herself was very pushy just because my husband and I didn't know they had an actual place for everyone to stand. We don't go out much and especially when a lot of people are around plus not every store put a tag on the ground so you line up like sheep preparing to be sheared!! Didn't know I was an animal like that, kinda immature. Anyway, I wouldn't have even had a problem persa if actual tact had been used and we were not screamed at. The lady is lucky I didn't lose it because I almost did and when I get going, you don't want to even be around. I may be small and petite and passive most days but when I get a passion to speak out, watch out! I also usually speak exactly what needs to be said in that moment. Somehow when I am at my most raw and honest, I speak very clear and say things that either make someone clam it or they are at such a loss for words, they just retreat and then I am happy because I actually usually it's because I took a stand for someone who was bullied and that brings me such satisfaction. Maybe that is why I didn't speak out this time, because it wasn't about bullying I hate bullies most but I could tell someplace in her she is discriminatory and a bully. So, lady, never be in my presence again. I don't like your kind. Another reason I feel she was discriminatory besides how quickly she was to be so rude to us when we hadn't done a thing to her was because she was right next to another white woman (customer) and she definitely was NOT 6 feet away. So, like I said, it was because we are ethnic. I am sick of being hated on simply because of what I look like but sometimes you can just tell and see through someone. You feel it too, the mean judgement. Lady, I hope one day, someone teaches you a dose of Justice and Equality and that all men are created equal!! I guess the reason I felt this really shows the representation of Big Lots as a whole, at least at this location, was because the minute that women opened her mouth, the cashier was right by her side and suddenly shifted her whole personality. She greeted us nicely and in two seconds, was yelling at us to get behind the line. Learn a little respect to all the Big Lots Staff and by the way lady, you are indoors, no need to use outdoor voices we were close enough to hear your loud voice. Thank God, we had a different cashier. He was actually pretty respectful and made light of the situation, stating he really didn't like having to stay behind the plastic prison!! I like his sense of humor. And I understand everyone being odd about the coronavirus thing but you can still be respectful and because of that, I will NOT be returning to this particular branch. It is going on my own personal Black flag list of stores that do me wrong. Lansing is a while away, but the cashiers are much nicer and more deserving of my own business!! If you're smart, you won't go here but maybe if you're the right skin color, things will be okay for you!! I think they need serious etiquette in manners and a nice dose of a simple thing called common courtesy!!!
