One of a few places where a large group has a chance eating without pre-booking, as it gets crazily busy on Fort William during the high seasons. It's an excellent place to get an energy boost after a hike! The menu has plenty of options (although no haggis sadly), and service is very fast! The prices are probably the best in Fort William, although more expensive than in Wetherspoons in England. This bar and restaurant feels like a tourist trap. Food is not good, grease tasted old. You serve yourself in pretty much every capacity. Get your own condiments, order and pay via QR code. When I inquired if I could possibly obtain dressing, was informed they were out of salad dressing. The very harried staff member suggested I could use mayonnaise. Just pathetic read more

This is also known as the Wetherspoon to locals in Scotland. It's apparently a chain of pub-style restaurants. It's quite the tourist friendly restaurant with millions of different food options along with late hours. The place itself is quite huge with plenty of seating. They have just about everything and anything on their menu, including vegetarian options. Not sure if it's just a thing in Scotland, but you place your order at the bar. You give them your table number and you place an order. Note that not everything on the menu may be available, but most options should be there. Also, for my fellow American tourists, there's no barstool seating. The real benefit, though, is that the food comes out quick. We ordered a veggie burger and two pizzas and all three came out quickly. All three of the items also tasted damn good for "bar" food. For those staying in Fort William, I definitely recommend stopping here for a meal. read more

This place is also known as 'Wetherspoon.' What you do is grab a table and look the menus and figure out what you want. Then you go to the bar to turn in your order and pay. They will then call your number and you go back to the bar area and pick up your food. The French fries (chips) were awesome!! We also had a burger with Bree, and I don't know what the put on it, but the burger was well spiced and tasted very good. Deserts: the bread pudding was hard (could pass on) but the 'Melty Mallow Stack' was incredible!! I had a fruit cider and loved it! The prices were low (they had good specials). I'm sure this place will be busy but the food was ok, I did get fish and chips thinking it would be easy and it was fair. This place feels like some kind of Scottish version of McDonalds. It was very noisy, the staff was completely stressed out and the food was really bland and tasteless (but took a while to prepare, surprisingly). Worth mentioning is their ordering system. You take a table, note the number of the table in the circle at the corner of the table, go to the bar to order (and mention the table number), then the food is served at the table when done. read more

Once you are inside you need to first pick a table, remember the number, and then order at the bar. I got the 2 for 9.99 and picked fish and chips and mac and cheese. The meal itself was great, but the ​service was crazy long. There is only one person actually bringing out food to the tables. I was with two other people, one who got their food about 20 minutes after we order, which I find reasonable. My meal then came about 15 minutes after theirs, when they had already finished. The final order came 5 minutes later. We had to take half of my meal and most of the last one to go because we needed to be somewhere. I'm not sure what to make of The Great Glen. On the plus side, the block that contains this Wetherspoons, plus a Costa and Travelodge does smarten up what can be, in places, a bit of a tatty street. There's definitely a place for a bar like this, which will be undeniably popular with young locals and tourists alike. The food and drink is cheap and the service is quick. If you don't mind eating in what can only be described as a canteen, and are more concerned with price than quality, then this could be the place for you. My five bean chilli had the taste and texture of a cheap microwave meal for one. The rice was dry and clumpy, and the small bowl of chilli was only half full. My parents noticed some of the meals had been standing waiting to be collected by the waiting staff for over five minutes, so that's possibly why the rice was so dry. They were more complimentary about their meals (fish and chips, and gammon and chips) than I was. But none of us were too impressed with the crumble made from tinned apples, or the fact that the head waitress (one of several staff who couldn't hide the fact that they were completely stressed out) on one occasion touched the food to see how hot it was. read more

We ent here for breakfast, we had a very good full Scottisch breakfast with unlimited coffee for only 6 pounds. So we went back for lunch, I had a nice an juicy burger and my wife a tasty panini. Do not expect "French haite cuisine" but you get very tasty food for a low price . read more

The staff worked their butts off, so one star....how do you really screw up a hamburger? Go here and find out, it was a slightly soft hockey puck with white stuff on top from a plastic bag...it gets better! Try the mustard, they refilled the mustard with a horseradish mustard, what? Or the choice of peas or mushy peas.... after the peas I am concerned what they consider mushy. The place is busy so you think it's a good place to go....don't go.
