Great Frogs Winery is such a gem near Annapolis. The venue itself is beautiful -- a lovely property that feels relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for lingering. We did both a red and white flight, and each wine was excellent, thoughtfully curated and really enjoyable from start to finish. The vibes were immaculate with live music adding to the experience without overpowering it. After our tasting, we spent time enjoying the outdoor space, which was the perfect place to unwind, sip, and soak in the scenery. What an awesome hidden gem in Annapolis! It's tucked away so well, I didn't even know it was there for two years. But very happy I finally found it. The winery and tasting room is laid out beautifully and has a clean rustic feel to it. They do serve snacks as well, if you forget to bring your own. The wine was some of the best I've had in MD and the price was perfect. Service was great all around! (I would disagree with the sommelier about tasting order, but his laissez-faire attitude was honestly refreshing.) I'm glad I live a decent ways away, or else I'd be in danger of being here on the regular! read more

I checked out Great Frogs on Thursday night for the very first time to go to an outdoor barre class (Barre Forward) with a wine tasting and charcuterie grazing box. I absolutely enjoyed the barre class as it was much more intense than I thought it would be, and the wine tasting and grazing box were delicious. The entire winery is beautiful and gorgeous with many string lights, multiple barns, cute patios to sit on, and try the wine and foods. I would love to attend another event here and I think the venue would be perfect for private events, especially a wedding. My favorite wines that I tried were the rosé, the sweet white, and the home white. read more

My wife and I decided to try this winery for a wine tasting. We were a bit taken back as they allowed dogs inside of the winery. They also allowed kids in there as well. When going into a winey I am not expecting to see dogs or kids in there. To make matters worse kids were crying the entire time my wife and I were there, which definitely took away from the experience. The wine we tried was good, I will say the tastings were a bit smaller than we would like but it was still good. The servers were really nice and attentive. They also had someone singing and playing the guitar which was really nice when we were actually able to hear them over people's kids yelling and crying. Now I'm no somellier but having lived in Italy, California and Oregon I've "grown up" with premium quality wine, reasonably priced. The MD wine "scene" reminds me a lot of that in Arizona, Illinois and Texas. Smaller wineries, limited production, just ok wine and super overpriced for what it is. Usually nice places to visit. ATTENTION ownership: PLEASE change your wine tastings to get rid of the single-use plastic sample bottles!! It's such a waste, thousands of tiny plastic samples getting thrown out every single day! It's terrible for our planet, and being that Annapolis is a boater-heavy community who cares about the health of our oceans & bays, serving your wine tastings this way is very careless. At minimum, you should wash & reuse the plastic mini-bottles. I can't fully support a winery that has this level of disregard for our planet. Otherwise, the winery is great, the atmosphere is beautiful, the seating areas and live music are great. I care so much about getting rid of those plastic mini-tasting bottles I want to dock 2 stars, but will only downgrade 1 star for now. Super cute little winery. I made reservations online and was seated upon arrival. I came with my husband, dad, and father in law and everyone had a great time. I was especially happy that dogs were allowed inside. We were seated inside and enjoyed listening to live music while sampling all the wines. The snacks were a nice touch too. Great Frogs is a delightful place to relax with a glass of wine and people watch. It's only 10 minutes from Eastport. There are several unique indoor and outdoor seating options for all party sizes. While they sell snacks, I recommend bringing your own. I've been here several times and the staff has always been nice. My only critiques is that they have a food truck that I've never seen open, and the tobacco barn tasting room can get warm in the summer. A great place to listen to local musicians. read more

Wish I had pictures of the setup we had when we held our Bachelorette dinner here. We planned it in advance so that our caterer could drop off their food and we could enjoy a really nice meal at a place my sister had her eye on for so long. At first, we were somewhat skeptical of how everything would go - especially since we were told we couldn't make reservations (largely because they reiterated the fact that they have so much space). However, since we got there at a decent time, it didn't take long for us realize that one of the bar areas outside from the main area was completely empty, so we migrated there instead and were so happy for it (though the crowd quickly caught on and followed our lead not too long after). Luckily, by the time we finished set up, the owners came and after talking a bit, they even offered a wine tour for us to make the night even more special. Here I wish even more so that I could show some pictures because it really was a great experience. Of course, we enjoyed some for ourselves as we finished our dinner. For all that we got that night, we would definitely return if we were back in the area. Highly suggest thinking of this place if you want to do something super cute with your friends that is similar to picnic style or being catered but not serviced. They are amazing and I give them all the stars I can. read more

This review is specific to the wine club. I visited Great Frogs on May 14, 2022, and posted pictures on Yelp with an earlier glowing review. I received an odd call about a month ago saying they were holding wine for me that had not been picked up. But when I called back, the answering machine said the tasting room line messages are not monitored. I just checked a credit card statement and realized I had been billed for $267 in wine this month, so I emailed them. Apparently, they say I was in their wine club since last year, but my email was entered wrong, so I did not receive notifications. They billed me $400 for wine last year, and they said three separate allocations were picked up (not by me). So it's my fault for not checking my credit card statements more closely, but very odd that they will take my money, I don't get called, and somehow, somebody else picked up the wine. I asked if they had a wine club form with my signature on it, but they say it is all done online. They did agree to cancel the unwanted membership now, and they will refund the $267 for the last two shipments (which I also did not know about or pick up). Enjoy your visit and tasting in person, but I think their wine club procedures need to be tightened up. I belong to another local vineyard wine club in Davidsonville, and I make an appointment to pick up my allocation there so i know who gets the wine I am paying for. Footnote: after several emails back and forth, they did reverse ALL of the credit card going back a full year. So I came out ok. The moral of the story is just to watch your statements for any transactions you don't recognize. read more

They had prepared small charcuterie boards which were a sampling of different cheeses and fruits. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is how they do their wine tasting, the wines come in what looks like a plastic shampoo bottle. My husband and I visited this winery today. It was our first time visiting a winery or doing a winetasting. We had a fantastic time. The grounds are beautiful, and the tasting room is so cute. The store was very well-stocked and had plenty of inventory. We made a reservation for the inside tasting room because we did not know what to expect. However, the outdoor patio had plenty of seating when we arrived and the setting was so serene and peaceful that we decided to sit on the patio. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and answered all of our questions when we first arrived and explained that it was our first time. Of course, the wine was also delicious! Super cute place !! My hubby and I showed up at 3 PM on a Saturday in this place was popping as he said. There seems to be more than enough parking. The entrance to this place is exactly what you think of when you think of a winery just gorgeous and green. I love how open the space is and you can sit outside with wine cheese and friends. Plenty places plenty of places to sit. I recommend making a reservation as we learn very quickly that the reservation we made for the next Saturday didn't do us any good as it was this Saturday we attended. However we were able to find a cozy place to stand and talk and drink our wine. My hubby and I also walked the vineyards and it was probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen as I have never seen one up close. Great wine for a local vineyard and the ambiance was very relaxing. Definitely pricey & the service was okay- some great people and some pretty unpleasant workers that want you to get in and get out. One younger woman at the wine desk seemed very annoyed to associate with me at all. Made me feel stupid for having questions and not understanding how the winery worked before I arrived. My main concern was the amount of waste this winery generates. I know this won't matter to some, but they are not earth-conscious when it comes to trash. Their wine fleet is 6 single-use plastic bottles with caps delivered in a plastic bag. You get one glass to taste each in, a glass that you can take home, so it is not reused by the winery either and likely disposed of by most patrons. Not only does this waste money for the winery, but it generates a hefty amount of disposables. Would love to see them reconsider. read more

It's a small Vineyard w/ views of the delicious grape field... Once a week they have a live musician/band. Inside is primarily by reservation. Outside is first come first serve. Metal and picnic tables dot the outside and not all have band views... so get there at least 30 min early if you want a view of band. Small grass area for lawn seating so I wouldn't recommend it as an option. Price isn't to bad. My only complaint is the sporadic seating. The winery had a beautiful ambience and super friendly staff! The wines were dry but tasty if you enjoy dry wine. They had a flight for $30 where you can sample 6 wines- 2 white and 4 red. They were good- my favorite was the all hands on deck because although still dry it had the most fruity flavor. I wish there was one semi-sweet/sweet wine to indulge! We asked because we would've like to split a bottle but all in all it was good! To accompany our wine we protested some items and put together a mini charcuterie board ! We had crackers, Brie cheese, apricot preserves, and babe had salami. Everything was decently priced ! The preserves were my favorite !!! After relaxing and enjoying our goodies Collin, one of the host, took a few photos of us which was really nice! Then we went for a walk around the vineyard. I noticed some post were marked yellow or purple - I'm thinking that meant yellow-white wine grapevines, and purple-red wine grapevines. It was such a nice day. The outside was first come first serve seating... and for the inside you have to make a reservation. Great Frogs is a unique tasting experience, in that you reserve your spots in advance and have a seated wine tasting with a nearby server. It costs a lot more, but you get more out of it. My guests and I made reservations online, and were quickly greeted upon our arrival with a seat at the bar. 6 x wines were served, along with several small snacks. Their wines are mostly if not entirely estate, with 15 x acres under vine (both on this property and others). What I tried: Chardonnay: Toasty, with salted caramel notes "Tanyard": A Vidal/Chambourcin combo that sorta reminded me of rose but wasn't rose. Fuller bodied than I would have given it credit for. Cab Franc: Some spice but still smooth. Vintner's Reserve: Bolder red but with a good vanilla nose. Spice and pomegranate notes. Cold Blooded: Made in Minnesota Oak. Early nose and on the palate. We visited this winery as part of a bachelorette weekend wine tour in November. We had a reservation inside but gave it up to sit outside since we lucked out with weather. There is a lot of nice outside seating but it was popular even in November, tables became hard to come by fast! They also had live music, a solo singer who added well to the atmosphere. Many families with small children and groups with dogs, so welcome to all! You go inside the tasting room to pick up wine and any snacks. As featured in the picture the wine flights are actually individual bottles you pour into the provided glass (you get to keep it). I have mixed feelings on all the plastic use, but a few girls really liked that they could take some of their flight home. The flights are $30 which is a bit pricey for 6 x 2oz, but we found the cheese really reasonably priced. Definitely understand why it's a popular spot! read more

First of all, the grounds overall are really cute and cozy. Upon arriving to the main building, we were greeted by a super friendly host who let us know how the system works. The bartender was also super friendly and the service overall was great. Great vibes and a wonderful first impression. As it was our first time visiting, we ordered a tasting flight and some charcuterie. Note: everything here is self-guided, so you receive a bag of 6 prepackaged wine samples and a glass. The charcuterie was "grocery style", which means you just get the block of cheese, your meat choice, and a bag of crackers (we didn't mind at all). The cheese was local and amazing and I'm always happy when a place offers bresaola vs. typical pork options. The wines themselves were quite good and we had fun with the self-guided tasting. They provided a tasting menu, which included all aromas, tasting notes, and finishes. We were big fans of the "Reveille Reveille" Pinot Gris and ordered a whole bottle to enjoy after the flight. My only few criticisms are pertaining to the experience outside itself. The grounds and outdoor area was predominantly filled with children running around, screaming loudly, and playing/throwing things in the bocci court (it was being treated as a sandpit, so no adults could enjoy the game while there). This may be personal preference for our group, but we don't think wineries are, by nature, spaces in which children should outnumber adults and prefer a more relaxing environment to enjoy wine and conversation, without children running/screaming around your table and out-of-touch parents throwing diapers into the trash can on the patio. Perhaps, if the business would like to keep this "family friendly" approach, they could limit the area in which children are allowed/consider making an "adult only" area for folks to enjoy their wine/snacks in peace. I realize that this is also more of an issue with the parents that allow their children to behave like this, but given that this is a winery -- where the main offering is a beverage that can only be consumed by those 21+ -- the business could prioritize the space (or at least a large portion thereof) to be enjoyed by the actual customers, not a playground for children. read more

Visited for a friend's birthday. Venue is nice, well kept and clean. Wine flight is $30 for six 2oz tastings. It comes prepackaged in what resembles travel size shampoo bottles. All are chilled including the reds. I did not like any of the six I tried. They have snacks for sale which consist of entire rounds of Brie and large blocks of cheddar, the crackers were pretzel type and not flat so difficult to serve the cheese on. They have private appointments for tastings on the weekends and they do a date night on these nice comfy warmer months. Came to this darling winery for a bachelorette event on a Saturday afternoon. Arrived and parked with no problem in the grass lot close to the general open area. The fantastic Amber North was performing right outside the barn. I was easily able to grab a table on the shade for our group. We began our event with the wine tasting. We had no reservation, so we cozied up to the bar area where a server quickly got everything in order for us. For our $35 we received a bag of excellent snacks to accompany our box of wine samples, including crackers, an assortment of olives, a fantastic bag of spicy sweet nuts, and the most amazing stick of cheese called Midnight Moon. All our yummy snacks were sourced from the local shops at Clocktower on Forest Drive. The wines come labeled with embossed copper tags and cork stoppers. Each small carafe poured up to four, marked with small frogs to mete out the perfect taste. The information board provided the notes for each varietal. Also provided was a bottle of water and a glass to help clear the palate between samples. Finally, we each got our own souvenir tasting glass to keep. The wines ranged from mild and unassuming to heavy mouth feels to bold bites. Truly something for everyone. We took our time and tasted for an hour, with attentive staff to answer questions when we had them. Impressive for how busy it was. We each then received a full pour of our favorite, and with our full glasses and a bottle in hand we retired back outside for the live music. Although Maryland isn't exactly known for its wines, this winery sells a broad selection of whites and reds from across the flavor and complexity spectrum. I visited on a rainy day, therefore missing the opportunity to walk the grounds, but the tasting building was open and staffed by helpful employees. Tastings were served in a collection of travel shampoo-like bottles (presumably due to COVID) and covered a range of their products. Glasses and bottles were for sale of course as well. The Share The Love Red was an interesting red - far lighter than most and good for those who aren't fans of heavy, tannic reds. read more

The reason you pay a reasonable fee for tasting is to find out what you like. duh! So we showed up and the place was packed. Good sign. We checked in for a tasting, and found out that a tasting is $35! Really? I guess you would get two glasses out of that, but $35! $70 for two tastings? That's two bottles of wine at a moderately priced restaurant. I've not paid that in Napa for tastings. Maryland wines don't command that kind of tasting price. Walked in and walked out. Best of luck to them, but I'd rather go to Black Ankle winery, Mt. Airy MD. Best winery in Md. and they don't gouge on the tasting. read more
